Cannot Unpack Archives

With several Skyrim mods I've downloaded from both here and the Skyrim Nexus, I'm unable to unpack archives on my computer. Occurs with .7z, .zip, and .rar filetypes with about half of the twelve mods I just downloaded. At the moment, I'm looking for someone to help me circumvent the issue by unpacking the archives and compiling them on their own computer (then sending them to me). The issue seems to be gradually spreading - half-downloading files at random, NMM improperly installing mods, etc. Any suggestions how to solve the issue? is there somewhere I can find someone who could compile the mods I want for me?

Are your things like .7zip winrar or whatever else you have up to date? If they are not then update them and that might fix the problem. I use 7zip winrar and uniextractor if one has a problem the another one might work. Another thing to try if you are having problems unraring something is to manually open the rar/zip and seeing if you can drag the files/fodlers out and place them into another folder. Also make sure that your virus protection isn't doing something to prevent the rar/zip from being unzipped.

Been encountering something similar more and more often recently. Last night I went to update a mod and had to download it three times before I got one archive that didn't throw up the error "unexpected end of archive" when I unzipped it. NMM refuses to install if they have this error, but its strange that I have yet to encounter it while downloading from the Nexus, only happens here for me.

You can try as myuhinny suggests and update your zip software, or you can just re-download like I usually do... though depending on the size of the file, this might be a very unappealing option. Or you can try and find some free zip recovery software to resolve the issue, though I haven't tried this myself so I can't really give you any recommendations.

Sometimes my archives get an error with Winrar, while 7zip unpacks them with no problem. If one is giving you shit, use the other. If they're both giving you shit, something is wrong with the archive itself.

Never figured out why this happens, but there it is...
