I may be retarded...and I may not be the first to ask...but does anyone have a link to the dependencies for this mod? I really would like to try it and I have no clue where to find these...

Could the modder please edit the first post with all the required mods and information ?

 

I just spent about an hour ticking off one .esp/combonation at a time before realizing I simply had the wrong MBP version.

 

EDIT: it's all working now, will add bug reports and thoughts during the slow walk.

 

First batch of issues.

 

1- When trying to exit the inn I was captured in at borderwatch, the slaver got stuck on the wall, and didn't try to use the door to the room to leave. `tcl on him fixed that.

2- Bandits. They go for me (and with the Lovers plugins I had, and no cash, I basically was getting fucked. But the animations REALLY didn't line up at all. Past that I've been using `kill on NPCs/wildlife to avoid delays

3- pathing in general. The slavers seem to get stuck easily.

4- Long walk is long. And I doubt Im halfway there yet. I'd suggest having slaver camps added (perhaps use bandit camps, and make the player non-hostile to them temporarily) which become the target, then when there the slaver may or may not abuse the PC some, before 'transport' (quicktravel) is arranged to the destination.

Prehaps have some dialogue eventually saying that the transport is a cart with the slave hidden in it or something (makes more sense than a slave walking down the road naked but for chains and a gag)

5- Have the chains/gag use the shirt/pants slots since the PC is naked anyway, to avoid mod conflicts. (in my case, I was using the Myopia mod, which gives the PC a +10 INT bonus, in return for having to wear glasses, which use the tail slot. Had to deactivate it to not have blurry vision the entire way)

6-Modify one of the slave chain items to drain magicka, like the Morrowind slave bracers.

This makes the reasoning behind a mage being able to be held make sense.

7- the pose the PC is in when chained needs tweaking, player mouth remains closed, should be locked open to make things look better when zoomed.

8- Oh, also, the slave walk is WAY too long. Ive been pausing admitedly (refilling my glass mostly) but damn, way too long. Its so long that unless fixed I'd have to rate this mod as 'I hope someone rips the useful stuff for a copy'. Yeah, that annoying.

Yeah, Im not going to test this further. It's simply not worth it.

that said fix it up and it sounds like it'd be quite fun.

thomthom hasn't visited loverslab in over 3 months. It's safe to say that this project is dead.

Maybe someone should, uh... "take over" this mod...? I mean, thomthom's last visit was on 12-30-2011 at 01:18 AM, so unless someone else continues this unfinished mod it will stay so forever... which is a pity.

Maybe ThomThom is no longer supporting this mod, but at least he built the basic framework and tossed it out into public so other people could develop it further.

 

I'm working on a "voyeur" overhaul of some of my favourite Oblivion mods, and I hope to use this mod as part of it. I've only been playing OB on my PC for a couple of months (on the PS3 since since about 2006...) but,

 

I HATE it when ANYONE so easily dismisses the work of another - work that's freely available to adapt and improve on. As a new modder, ThomThom's mods and scripts are like school for me... They may be unfinished, but they are WAY beyond what I'm capable of doing.

 

I better shut up.

 

This is an amazing resource that I HOPE to be able to incorporate into my personal overhaul. I still have a lot to learn, though.

no. I'm not trying to be a poet. I'm trying to launch a new branch of the dialogue in this thread. because if everyone is silent, then the project is dead. should also draw attention to it? YES.

whether there is someone who will bring this mod to the end, instead of using it as unprepared part of him self project? no.

I've seen so much complaining from people to modders on these forums, when the complainers have no skill to mod at all. Yet they whine and bitch when something doesn't get done.

 

Heads up, whiners: Modders do these things in their free time, they aren't being payed or anything. So if you come here to bash on someone who's got "Real Life" problems and can't complete the mod, all the while you have absolutely no skill at modding and only contribute to the conversation by whining about how it'll never get done... then it's YOU that has a problem.

 

Don't like how this mod has hit the wall? Fine, but don't bitch about it. Get some modding knowledge and pick it up yourself. Don't bash on people who put their free time into making mods that you enjoy.

Someone's getting mad for no reason.

 

Nobody's really "bashing" on thomthom. At least one person on the last page complained about his mod being dead, then it was suggested that someone else continues it. If people complain about a mod being discontinued, it means that they liked the mod/mod's concept and want to see it finished(though they don't have the know-how to do it themselves).

 

Anyone who truly liked this mod won't just stay quiet when the mod "hits the wall". People will naturally complain; sometimes even in a very rude manner, which was not the case. The one who was rude was he who tried to shut up the complainer by arguing ad hominem.

Just because he hasn't visited that long does not neccarely mean it's dead. These things takes times. For all we know he could be working on a smaller pace. He did say it himself he hasn't worked on it for a while and needed time to relearn some parts himself.

 

If it was dead he would have say so before leaving. Chase Roxand moved to other games and gave other permissions to continue his work. Thomthom hasn't.

I think people are taking my comment in a different way then I intended it to be perceived. I was just trying to get people to realize that there not getting an update any time soon so that so many people won't be asking the same questions over and over. That certainly failed.

thomthom did give permission to use what he pubicly released, he also mentioned that the new system if completed will conflict with the current system and so he advised for modders to not get carried away with it.

 

as it stands it's a great proof of concept and it would be a damn shame if nothing more ever comes of it

20 step process + buggy like hell (+ stupidly ugly, uhm yeah, just a personal opinion)

 

It might be great for poses and screenshots for some people, but keeps penalizing the ones who really want to PLAY the game.

 

I wish more people would finally realize that.

 

Anyway, finished my mini-rant :D

 

Hopefully, we'll get to see a version of this fine plugin without dubious requirements in the future too.

last time i've installed mbp, mbp++, xeosp and xeosp++, ... all the requirements for a lot of mods, it took me less than 15 min, it's true, it was easier with the complete package for mbp, but didn't have any bugs nor ctd's, more than the half of the esps merged in the bashed patch for a very good result. Btw nothing could be worse than the initials npc's

Don't worry. To me, the community here, our community is built around respect for each other opinions and tastes. Therefore, I will never criticize someone to play their games in such and such a way. If people enjoy anime or over-sized breasty characters, it's their business, not mine, and you won't find me discouraging mod authors to provide for their entertainment.

 

I will also agree with you that NPC stock faces definitely need a rework.

 

I am fine with downloading a 230 Mo PK AIO package, knowing that, size-wise, most of it will be meshes and textures that I'll never use (the setBody stuff). Yet, I also know that the whole package, as it comes, works smoothly and will provide me for hours and hours of fun, so it's more than a very decent trade-off to me.

 

I am not fine with being forced to download a package :

 

  • that is confusing like hell to setup, even for motivated people, like me : MBP, MBP++, x117, x117++Sub, x117++076, ???, etc. Good luck on keeping up to date (I stopped a couple of versions back as you can tell)!
  • that is probably going in the Go of various (compressed) downloads now
  • that is ridden with redundancies, bugs (googly eyes, purple textures, missing meshes, to name a few), and hence instable on the long run (just google "Oblivion Beautiful people bugs"), even when using Wrye Bash
  • that takes forever to download for most non-japanese residents
  • of which I will ever use 0.001% of its stuff at best ?

 

each time I wish to add a small feature, or a quest, to an otherwise outstanding and *complete* package, like PK AIO.

 

I am soundly objecting to such a status-quo, and wish, hope and try to convince so that mod authors would provide more alternatives to us players.

This file requires all of the textures, models, and animations of the original mod. You just replace the old "esp" file with the new one.

 

I would appreciate it if someone who never had MBP installed could help me test this.

I will give it a try tomorrow, and keep you updated. Atm, I feel washed out after a 24h modding-blitz to get a good hundreds of mods to cooperate with another.

I'm PISSED OFF! I created a girl specifically for the purpose of revisiting this mod. I walked her everywhere. Spent DAYS at Broder Watch and sleeping at the Inn with the hopes of being abducted.

 

I finally gave up, and started playing my male Redguard.

 

The FIRST night he spends in Maple Cottage, the slave traders enter the house and knock him out! Grrr...

 

Ok, I'm NOT pissed off. I tried so hard to get abducted and - when I finally give up - ANOTHER character gets abducted. (My male character didn't get abducted - the game crashed after they attcaked him...)

 

I'm still hoping this girl has to make the long walk... Gonna play her right now...
