Game crashes every 10 min with Sexout

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My game crashes when I do one of the following things:

Have too many sex too many times, after 5-6 sex animations, the next animation starts and then its CTD.

Try to drop too many weapons.

Open too many doors.

Basically anything that causes repeated Sex Animations or changes the game screen (when entering new load areas) eventually result in CTDs.  Its very frustrating, I'm not sure is this Sexout glitch or one of the mods?  If its a mod which mod should I disable? I'm using the latest NVSE and extendor, got the BnB, everything.  FNV edit scan came through clear no problems detected.

I suspect its a mod but not sure which one below:

My load order is below in chronological order from top to bottom.  The unchecked [X] boxes are the mod esps I chose to disable when playing.

Flashlight NVSE was known to cause bloat, IIRC, because of the way it worked. It halved my FPS whenever I used it, and I went to check on the comment sections and it turns out it was the mod.

You're also using a lot of script-heavy mods, i.e. SexoutKennel, pregnancy mods and Populated Casinos. Maybe your computer can't handle it.

If you're also experiencing issues like people randomly becoming 'ethereal' (meaning you can't talk to them, hit them, touch them, or do anything), missing meshes outta nowhere, missing textures without changing anything etc., then you should probably try to narrow down your mod list.

Also, unrelated to your issue, but I would drop Mission Mojave and grab YUP instead. MM changes a bunch of things completely unrelated to issue, and also adds a bunch, hence the need of so many compatibility patches. Also, you already have Project Nevada, you don't need realistic headshot mods.

I suspect its a mod but not sure which one below:

My load order is below in chronological order from top to bottom.  The unchecked [X] boxes are the mod esps I chose to disable when playing.

  1. Please post your load order in a spoiler. It can be found in the tool bar the ! will open up a panel where you can paste your load order and other large text into it
  2. You are running lots of mods. There are many problems that occur. Misfiring scripts ( for heavy use of scripts) red triangles ( for mods with heavy meshes use) messed up textures ( yep again large amounts of textures ) and so forth. You never mentioned that you had a good game running in the first place.
  3. There are times that disabled esps are still active even though they have been disabled. The only way to truly remove the esp is to remove the mod..

I suspect the scripts are just building up and eventually the computer and game engine can't handle the stress and crash. The solution is lowering the mods and perhaps be more selective with each play through. It sucks but different computers and setups can get different results and stability with no fault to the mods themselves.

Solution:

Get a light load order running with only a few of the most necessary mods. Less than 50 if possible. Then see if you have any problems. Then slowly add a few more until you start to have problems and then roll back 5 or so mods and try again. You will soon learn what your machine can handle and can't. Some here on this site can only run 80 to 100 mods max even though their machine should really run more.

This is if someone else don't chime in with a confirmed conflict or solution that can fix this issue you are having.

Ok I deleted the Mission Mojave mod and some related to it and the NVSE flashlight.  The game seems to be running smoother, thank you.

I still get a CTD when trying to drop too many weapons but so far no problems with the opening doors and sex animations.

I got all of that still.  Some of the clothing textures have the red ! triangle.  Other clothes get an invisible body...

It sucks indeed but I really hate having to delete any more mods, I want the quests.  If someone spots something in the load order that they think is unnecessary or redundant please let me know.

EDIT:  I forgot to ask can my game run Coito Ergo Sum or would it conflict?

Yes, then you are suffering from an overstressed game. Narrow down your load order.

I would start with:

- Uninstall MM and anything related to it, install YUP

- Uninstall any realistic headshot mods, as Project Nevada already has an option to make headshots realistic

- Are you absolutely sure you need SexoutPregnancy? The mod itself is fine, but it's so script-heavy I don't think it's recommended for a load order as filled as yours

- PGKennel is also known to be very script-heavy, do you absolutely need it? I wouldn't recommend playing with the ESP loaded on your load order if you're not planning on roleplaying as an enslaved character, as it still runs on the background even if you're not playing the mod

- I would merge all clothing mods with TESEDIT (google how to do it)
- And I would also make a Merged Patch for incompatibilities. Making it is ezpz; just open up TESEDIT, load all mods you're using in the loading tab, wait for it to finish loading, right-click on any mod on the left side, scroll down on the menu that pops up and IIRC in the last option there is an arrow which leads to two or three options, one of them is 'Create Merged Patch'; click it, wait for it to finish, then if you're done close TESEDIT (just don't forget to save). Remember the Merged Patch should be the last mod on your load order.

- Finally, start a new save

After you streamline and minimize your load order to a more manageable level for your computer etc and still have those problems in the quote. You are missing requirements or those requirements that have been installed are installed wrong and not available for the game to use.

check what they are. What they should be.. Mantis suit, this, gun that, body that.. etc. For example if you are using the pregnancy mod and the character is pregnant there are special bodies for that. If the character is pregnant.. and missing body and only has a head and hands etc. that body is missing. ( requirement maternity clothing.)

If you are using mods that use SCR try creating the "SCR Resources" folder for this. It has everything in it and if confused or having problems download the PDF it goes in more detail. I spent a large amount of time on fixing that and keeping it current. Many members if follow that dont' have any more problem with SCR related missing requirements. Remember nothing in those requirements require an esp to be installed. They are merged.  [X] SCS - CombatArmour.esp is one example of an esp that can be removed as it is included in SCR. If you are using the current SexoutNG version the Zaz can be removed as well as Zaz has been rolled up into Sexout. Make sure you have the Sexout data refreshed with the most current version  to get the needed files. That will lower the esp level as well ..

Remember if you make changes to your load order you need to create a merged patch again.. ( at least so I have been told. Never needed to do that... lol) So if you did what Liberty stated above and then move out some of the resources I mention recreate that merged patch again.

  • 2 weeks later...

Ok I have a major struggle now.  I deleted a lot of esoteric stuff.  I have some kind of companion sandbox mod installed not sure which, Willow and Private Gilbert NPCs installed, but the sexout animations play ok no problems except for 1 glitch where you ask for lesbo sex and they stand behind the PC while the PC makes love to invisible person oblivious to naked person behind her (maybe this is already logged as a sexout glitch?).

I am using TES5Edit and according to the program Red text = Conflict loser.  After doing a filter sweep I came up with a huge number of red text esps above.  I have no idea how to fix the red conflicts into Green (Override without conflict) or Orange (Conflict winner).  And when I do a merge through Tes5Edit all that happens is an additional esp is created at the bottom

And I get this error message below for the merging:

Error: Can't merge faulty ordered list aaaMod02OrderedList [FLST:71002A92]

I don't notice any improvement and I still crash when fast traveling or entering too many doors every 5-10 min.  Can someone help with some advice on how to merge the plugins properly and deal with the many red conflicts that arise?

I'm guessing that you weren't having the crashing 10 minutes from just saving and entering areas before installing SO.

I know that some of the (should be but aren't) save on ____ options often cause crashes for some reason or another.  CASM (google) saves every 5 minutes.  There's an MCM version that allows you to customize how often it saves, but I can't remember now why I stopped using that one and went back to plain CASM.

I don't think that changing the load order requires you to make a merged patch.

You really shouldn't try to merge any mods when you are having such problems unless you understand what you are doing and why and more importanly what you are merging. Otherwise those merges will have problems as well. If you run FNVedit it will tell you if there are any master issues. Fix those first. Then re-read the OPs of the mods you are using. If still having problems uninstall most if not all of the mods and start over testing a few at a time until you get to some conflicts. This will make it easier to understand what is going on and what to do.. If you don't know it will make it easier for members to guide you on fixes if they are even possible.

You missed a step, you need to filter for conflicts before making the merged patch. If you search "FNVEdit" on Nexus you'll find the FNVEdit users manual, which has step by step illustrated guides for all of the programs functions. Or you can search YouTube for Gopher's tutorial series, he has several videos on different FNVEdit functions.

The problem here is the word "merge". The patch FNVEdit makes is called a merged patch, but it isn't actually merging any mods. What a merged patch does is effectively makes a whole new mod which selects your preferred changes from all the other mods. An example would be if you had two different mods that affect Veronica. One changes her face, the other changes her combat style. The way the gamebryo engine loads mods, the last file that makes a change is the one that counts. So in my example,if the face mod loads last, Veronica keeps her default combat style and gets a new face. If the combat mod loads last, Veronica uses the new combat style and keeps her original face. With a merge patch, you can make her have both the new face and the new combat style by combining the two changes into one mod. Filtering for conflicts just narrows down what changes need to be fixed.

Doing it this way makes no changes to the mods themselves. You aren't screwing up Ling's Pretty Things by changing its combat settings, or messing up Followers Ready To Fight by changing its facial geometry. The only down side is that if you change your load order at all by adding or removing mods then you have to make a new merge patch. That's why I mentioned the users manual or  Gopher's videos. It's a slightly complex process, but it's worth the work for the improvement in game stability.

Ok.. I was thinking of the actual definition of Merged patch.. ;).. With this you are just prioritizing or directing the game to choose the particular files that you want present regardless of the order provided of course the load order is correct ( master wise of course).

KainsChylde MO spoiler :P  LOOK if you DARE... ;)

I can do that without the merged patch with MO.. Open the folder.. Hide the unwanted files close file.. Poof the file not desired and conflicting .. gone... :D Want it back.. open that file .. unhide that file.. poof.. it is back.. No need to go through the merge option.. just look at the conflicts and resolve them until there are no more conflicts.. Make a mistake on a file.. go back and unhide.. NO files harmed no reprocessing of files.. Nothing is ever harmed or permanently changed. I can even add and remove esps as needed for the game depending on what patches I need at any given time.. .. I can change the load order as I see fit without having to repeat my work again. I can also add mods to the list as well just make the needed changes for those new files ONLY. No need to rework the mods again as in the FNVedit merged patch

You mean this?

I checked it out and while Gopher does a good job explaining the basics he didn't get the same error I did so it doesn't help me there.

I have a question guys.  What does "Apply Filter For Cleaning" do vs "Apply Filter"?

Does "check for error" only scan for error and does not fix it?

Should I make the merged patch after doing "Apply Filter For Cleaning" or "Apply Filter"?

"Apply filter for cleaning" is used for scanning a single file for errors and dirty edits. "Apply filter" is what you use for making a merge patch.

Conflicts don't always give immediate errors in FNVEdit. If Edit loads clean and you're still having problems, that is the purpose of a merged patch. Skim the video until you find the section on making merged patches, and if it doesn't give you enough information get the users manual.

It's linked in my signature, but you could have signatures turned off so I'll provide it here: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/10273-tips-for-troubleshooting-problems/

That link is a short post I wrote on how to figure out problems people have with their games. In the post are links to everything I've recommended here, including to the users manual I mentioned above. Good luck, and come back if you need any further assistance.

Hi Thank you for the link.  I didn't know I disabled signatures.

I used LOOT and got warning messages like below:

DeadMoney.esm
CRC: D70F165B
  • Warning: Contains 403 ITM records and 51 UDR records. Clean with FNVEdit.

I read the manual and am not sure about what to use in FNVEDIT to clean these ITM and UDR records.  Do I check only Dead Money and then do a "Apply Filter" then "Clean Master" to fix this?

This problem seems to have gotten too big, I have so many Red Mod Conflicts that to individually Apply Filter to everyone of these wil take forever and is far too much for me to spend on this game.  Is that how the mod cleaning is supposed to be done?  You have to individually go after each mod in FNVEDIT and fix any conflicts?  I have 117 plugins so its quite a job. :(

It is called a merge patch because it merges the INTENDED changes made by the various mods you selected. It is far from simply compiling all the "winners" in a mod (which would in fact be pointless).

I have heard from both sides of the fence on "Cleaning Masters" and the reasons for or against it, One such reason to not clean them is mods are actually dependent on the dirty edits and cleaning those can cause problems in those mods. Who would have thought that leaving your load order laundry dirty could be a good thing? :P

On the other side folks say that running the masters through the FNVEdit washing machine is the best way to improve performace and assist in avoiding nasty meah CTDs. :s

Creating a merge patch can be a good thing for selecting how you want things to work, setting the ulitmate trump card in your Caravan Deck as it were, but in my expereince, which isn't much really, I have never been able to get a succesful merge patch to work. I usually just make the changes directly to the mods in question and rock on!

I would like to point out this, because it's pretty important in my opinion. If you check around (one and one, the first two cases I found on google) they don't filter for conflicts, like like LibertyPrime (third case). Me, I never did it when doing a merged patch, this came from the first one I did a couple of years ago, following a tutorial which wasn't filtering (So we're at four cases).

So, once for all, can someone explain this? I just reinstalled FO3 these days and I really would love doing a CORRECT merged patch once for all :)
