Trykz Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Okay, so I've been away a while...... sue me. Work owns me By request, and since it seems that Carloss32 has gone inactive and is no longer updating his Draenei race, I figured I might as well get this done and ready..... So far, the basics are completed, and I'm currently working on Abilities/racials and a few other things I'd like to accomplish with this race. And the customary NSFW shots: I've completed a couple of sets of hoof armors, and I'm combing through all my assets looking for more. I'll likely release them as a separate mod, rather than with the race itself. Anyhoo..... I'll get more shots up as things progress. P.S. And yes, that's the Airy Armor I converted in BodySlide to fit Trykz
xenic Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Awesome! I am salivating for the link She's looking good.
Trykz Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Found another armor set with parts that work really well with the hooves after a little work in Nifskope: Tera Skull More later...... Trykz
Trykz Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Leopard Hide Still plugging away..... Trykz
xenic Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Looking good. Are you able to use the armors that you did with the Unicorn? That may save some time if you can.
Trykz Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Looking good. Are you able to use the armors that you did with the Unicorn? That may save some time if you can. Most likely. But I don't recall there being any separate modifiable foot armors (multi-piece boots/shoes) with those. That's the difference with this race. Everything I'm displaying here includes a separate hoof armor part. Each hoof armor is the same as the original, but with the lower foot cover removed. All are BodySlide capable. But since you mentioned the Unicorn race, I feel it's pretty prudent that I mention this races' skeleton..... it's been highly modified throughout to give just the right proportions to everything, including the body and hoof sizes. Replacing or overriding it will most certainly cause very undesirable effects. The body is HDTBodySlide capable, so any preferred shape will look good as long as it's not "too" extreme. Pushing things too far will also likely break the armors, and create seams around the hands and hooves. I'll also be adding males to this race. Their proportions may be a bit off, but I think I can get really close with modifications to their skeleton. We'll see. Trykz

I hadn't even thought of the skeletons being different but I see that now. On another note, this race will be my next playthrough.
xenic Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 How is it coming along? I saw your post in the counterpart thread and came here hoping for an update
Trykz Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 For the most part it's finished. I'm testing the ESM and BSA in a short playthrough, so it should be good to go Friday evening after work Trykz

Sarathis Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I'm not sure if you're still looking into armors to fit the hooves or not but, if so, you should look into speaking to the author of this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32948/? With a little adaptation you could probably make them suit your needs. It'll give people options if they want to wear armors from the game itself rather than mods.

I think that is Bloodbowl here on LL... I remember a post about them. I'm pretty sure he said he made them but I could be wrong.
Trykz Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Looking really good. Will the eyes glow? There's a glowing eyes mod on Nexus that I use myself. And i'll definitely look into contacting the author. Thanks for the heads up Trykz
draeneis Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Oh my god yes. My Kaleen race textures broke a long time ago and I just I am actually salivating right now. Look at my username. Aag I don't even know what to say.
Trykz Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Got some more hoof armors done using zemaria's vanilla meshes: Dragonscale Blades Daedric Scaled Hopefully I get a reply soon. Trykz
draeneis Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 The hooves are pretty cool but if armor works like the Kaleen race with just a tail, horns, blue skin and a bodyslide booty of my design, well really that's what I'm here for. I can't use the Kaleen race for some reason, even after deleting all of skyrim and reinstalling it, which doesn't actually seem possible but the problem is apparently in the My Games directory or whatever which will require probably hours of my time to address... Plus, the face textures of- ... some race which I think you created but I can't find on this forum or anywhere... those face textures are some of my favorite so I know you will make the best possible draeneis... I'm just saying I don't think the hooves are the most important part they are a detail
Swiftstep Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 This approach might be too scientific, but I would like to add the following thoughts / theories / personal preferences:- there should be a visible difference between the colour of the skin and the horns on the head (a slight difference at least - e.g. should be darker)- the horns on the foot should have the same colour like the fingernails and the horns on the head (since it is all the same material)- the fur on the lower legs should have the same colour like the main hair (I would suggest a darker colour to add more contrast to the overall picture)As for my taste I'd love to see some pics of creation with a more bluer approach (less red, more blue). And I hope you include a number of tails to choose from.Other then that, this looks very great, and I would like to thank you for your contribution to the community.

I like to put as much attention to detail in as is feasible. Generally leaning toward what the original features of a race were/are. Having played WoW for a fair number of years, I don't recall any of my Draenei having horns that were any color other than that of the skin. The fur on the legs was also of the same skintone color (though generally covered anyway by most armors). The textures I went with for this race are tinted to a medium blue color. To see the true color of the skin, one only need to select the lightest skintone color. ECE adds much more variety as well. Certainly FAR more than I'd care to try and bake directly into the race form. Eventually, you reach a point where you have to say "that's good enough". That's pretty much where I'm at now. Trykz

Trykz That was what seemed off about a couple of WIP that used to be around. There were so many options that it didn't even resemble the race anymore.

ElvinG Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Use this with Forgotten Magic Redone and I'll have my old paladin back:)
