Sexout Intimacy

THanks T, managed to get it to work a few times. I must have had the wrong combination of boxes ticked the first time I tried.

I did notice on a few occasions, only the two women NCR soldiers would go to the tent, and my option would never show up. Not sure if the AI packages broke or something. Had to reload to then get the men to go there as well. Quite odd!

I was just thinking, for future updates, could you include a changelog in the OP? It would mean there would be a complete record of what is/isn't in the mod without having to rewrite the description every time.

Also, for pimps, since they aren't finished, would it be too much to suggest that the cut they take is based on their opinion of you? maybe even up to the point where they just become a friend helping you out with no desire for a reward?

And since I just worked out the negotiate system, can there be an option to change the cash price by something bigger than 10? like 20 or 50? it's just a bit tedious clicking "-10" twelve times to get from my "market value" to what the NPC can afford.

There's a build changelog text file included in every copy.  I probably won't do anything more detailed than that until this mod is out of beta for several reasons.  The short version is, I can either build the mod or write detailed documentation/changelogs.

If they're your pimp I think their opinion of the PC should be crystal clear already shouldn't it? lol  The next sentence about friends with no desire for reward makes zero sense to me.  You and MRM kill me with this stuff. lol

Let me just clarify that I will always defend your choice of playstyle even when I disagree with it.  It's your game and you should decide how you want to play it.  That being said, here are a few that things I'm never going to change my mind about:

Prostitution:

- is NOT a care free life without consequence and/or pressures.

- is NOT an opportunity to 'be your own boss'.

- is NOT an entrepreneurial pursuit.

- IS a servile occupation.

To sum up I can tell you exactly what the pimps opinion of the PC is.  The PC is property.  A monetary asset to be regulated, controlled, and subjugated for the sole purpose of profit.  It's really that simple.

With the settings in this mod, you and mod authors are more than welcome to circumvent everything I just said above.  But I'm not going to come off those opinions, which technically are facts, but in the context of play styles I'll call them opinions.

The default dialog is not the mod.  The mod is the mod.  The default dialog is just one mans take (my own) on how the system can be utilized.  It's not there to set a standard or even a baseline.  It's simply there to showcase functions.  That's it.  That's all it's there for.

It's not in any way there to try and tell you how to play your game or wedge you into a play style that is not your own.  If anyone wants to create dialog with a fantasy version of prostitution, I'm all for it!  I'll even help them.  But I'm going to craft the default dialog from my own point of view.

Mind you, I'm not upset or yelling at you.  I just want to make it clear.  I know everyone is eager to have things the way they want them, but I simply can't craft a one size fits all play styles dialog (therefore I lean towards my own).  In order to accommodate all the different play styles (which the settings already do and the default dialog never will), authors will need to get involved at some point.

EDIT: I can probably add a bigger jump in price selection.  What about a [Match] option that sets the price to their asking price automatically?

So, how long does it actually take to get more Options than just [Friend Greeting] -> [small Talk]?

Friend means they're incompatible.  You can sway/seduce incompatibles over time (they become bi curious).  However, I haven't tested it extensively so this function probably needs tuning.  If anyone wants to try this and regularly report their progress/problems, I'd be glad to work on it some more.

A couple of things that are important to note.  This mod doesn't guarantee any kind of deeper relationship with any NPC, and there is no secret combination of button presses that will ensure they like the player.

In short, not every NPC that the player likes is going to like the player back.  In this respect NPCs are essentially autonomous.  Each of them have their own reasons for liking/not liking the player, and every NPC has their own pace as to how relations with them progress.

So I guess the answer would be this.  Some will progress quickly, some will progress slowly, and some won't progress no matter what you do (similar to real life).

This mod is an anti-poser.  It's designed to be played, not posed.  Because of this there is no absolute right method that will ensure they do what the player wants them to do.  It really boils down to getting to know the NPC as an individual.

EDIT: Here's a few tips.

- Aim for second tier dialog.  [small Talk] > [Response] > Exit dialog = first tier.  [small Talk] > [Response] > [More Dialog Choices] = second tier.

- Aim for dialog choices that raise their positive stats.  Disposition/Respect/Desire

- Aim for activities, as activities will produce the most positive gains.

Totally Off-Topic:  I just went fishing for Lakelurks with dynamite :exclamation:   All the time I've spent playing New Vegas and I never realized you could toss dynamite or grenades into Lake Mead and it would explode and kill or cripple an underwater enemy if you are close enough.  Tried it out because I was "in combat" with a Lakelurk who was underwater below a steep shoreline and couldn't see it to shoot at it.  Since I had some dynamite I thought "hmm, wonder what would happen if I threw a stick at it".  It's like using depth charges on a submarine, you know the direction but not the distance, even shoots up a geyser of water like a depth charge.

Totally On--Topic:  It took quite a while for it to come up in conversation but I can confirm that [Desires A Gift] is now working right.  Have to go kill some Powder Gangers now, I'm out of dynamite sticks

Is second tier dialog possible with Friends?

Yeppers.  Activities too.  Another tip is to run up their cycles so they become familiar with the PC.  You do this simply by being around them.  Once they're familiar, they should open up a bit more as well.

I was doing some [booze] with Cass.  Drank some scotch and became addicted.  Cass comes over and says [Rumor:Drunk].  No sense in denying it, my Courier confesses.  Then Cass says [Chems?].  What the heck, I'm already a drunk, might as well become a junkie too.  Courier says yes and Cass gives her some Slasher and then says [Goodbye].  That ended all activities.  It doesn't break anything, she just goes back to her non-activity behaviors but I thought that might not be intended behavior, just an FYI.

Were you already engaged in an activity?

EDIT:  I'm assuming you were.  New copy should fix it.

Nope.  That's as far as they go right now.  I still need to put in negotiations for them.

How are things going? hope they are well & the negotiations too.

Not sure if an issue, there was a successful lock pick door opening sound (stalker house invasion) and he entered but didn't say nothing or do anything.

I assume this is what you meant by sometimes packages inside can be finicky or if '00000001'' is just a placeholder or if that's not right, etc.

Good here ty.  I've been horsing around with the Sims for the last week out of curiosity.  Just a short break to see what all the fuss is about.  I think I'm done with that now though.  I plan on getting back to this over the weekend.

That's definitely not a valid topic ref.  It looks like they don't have a valid forced sex topic registered.  I'll look into it.

Good to know, did you happen to get any ideas or inspiration from your look at The Sims that could possibly be put into SOI? Wondering if there's anything you liked in it.

Not my cup of tea I'm afraid.  Building is fun, everything else puts me to sleep.

What do these return for that NPC?

NX_GetEVFo "SOI:Tpc:Stalk" ;should be xx0E4A84
NX_GetEVFl "SOI:Reg:Topics" ;should be 28

;Clear and reset dialog topic registry like so.
NX_ClrEVFl "SOI:Reg:Topics" 2

Well that looks right.  I'll run some more tests and see if I can reproduce it.

EDIT:  I think the dialog was firing too early.  Try the new one.

I'm seeing "error in script 2600f075".  Seems to happen during Hanging Out and Go for a Walk activities.  Near where the activity should be ending instead of getting a [Goodbye] or [Continue Activities?] NPC will just start walking away.  If I check the console I see that script error.  It looks like they are picking up some sort of return package instead of an activity end.  It seems to resolve itself, the NPC's will go home and resume normal behavior but there might be something there.

My PC is pregnant, still early and not showing yet but I'm curious what kind of responses I'm going to see once NPC's realize there is a "Bun in the Oven"

SpunkFuSpurtMove is the script/mod you're getting the error from (Spunk).  Looking into the activities now.

Just a quick note.  NPCs should no longer ID the PC as pregnant until it becomes obvious (P2).  It's also based on appearance.  This means the PC can hide their pregnancy by wearing clothing that doesn't switch to a pregnant version (penalties from SOPregnancy may apply).

EDIT: Tested walk successfully.  Which NPC, at what location?  I'll need more info to reproduce it.

Boone and Bruce Isaac at Lucky 38 and Novac Motel respectively.   It seems to happen when they choose Hang Out during a Nightcap activity.  Going for a walk with Jules in North Vegas worked normally.  I've noticed in Novac Motel that if NPC's choose hang out they tend to step outiside onto the balcony, if I don't follow them I start getting an abandon activity countdown.  With Boone in Lucky 38 he actually walked downstairs and then outside.  When I followed him he came over, asked me for a walk and then turned and walked through the gate to Freeside and then went home.

edit:  it might be associated with making out during a hang-out activity during a nightcap.  When the make out ends they seem like they deviate from the normal end of activity sequence.

Okay so we're back to NPCs leaving the visit location again.  NPCs should NEVER leave those locations until the visit is complete.  If they do, consider it broken.  If you initiate a hang out activity, and then they leave, they definitely aren't running the hang out package.

A removescriptpackage on them might work to remove the AI package they're running, and start the hang out.  Just a temporary work around.  If you getcurrentaipackage on them as they head for the door, what does it return?

In the meantime I'll start testing and working on visitation again.

EDIT: Well I know what the problem is at least with Boone.  Probably the same as Bruce.  Is Boone a companion?  Have you completed any of Boone's quests? Has Bruce Isaac moved on to the Tops yet, or is he still living in Novac?

A setrestrained 1, evp, setrestrained 0, right after you exit the begin hang out dialog should keep them from exiting immediately.  But the game really REALLY wants them to run their packages unless I spam EVP on them during the activity.  Just something to try to keep things moving in your game.

Still working on it.

I completed Boone's companion enabling quest, but he isn't actively a companion - he's just waiting in Novac until I'm ready to declare war on the Legion.  Haven't done anything else with him like Bitter Springs or Cottonwood Cove.  Bruce Isaac is working at the Tops.  I haven't managed to get anyone to do a Nightcap again so can't get an ai package when they leave yet.

I imagine it gets frustrating at times, New Vegas seems to place a huge importance on repetitive little AI packages like polishing glasses at a bar or standing in one spot.  They really don't want you giving the NPC's a life ;)

Okay try the new one.  There's a fair chance the Boone fix breaks other NPCs though.  Tested Boone and a couple of others at the Motel.  Did not test Bruce Isaac, but if his problem is the same as Boones he should be fine now.

Another note is that the Motel marker is somewhat close to the exit.  I'll probably change this at some point.  In the meantime you may want to lead them away from the door a bit before you initiate a date/nightcap.  Still haven't done any testing at the Lucky38, but I suspect it could use an exit marker.

EDIT: Fixed home invasions (was broken if you submitted), and added multiple invaders (untested).
