Vuulgar Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I am having textures randomly go missing during play and in several games with a variety of mods. Armor, skin, goats, even the load window had a chest piece with not texture. If I restart the problem is fixed until I start moving around the world again and sooner or later things are going to start showing up. I have also noticed women bandits and such will be bald much more than random chance they were supposed to be bald, as if the hair is not loading. It doesnt seem to break the game but its very annoying. I have 130 to 150 mods per game but I make lots of saves and try lots of mods so my Mod Organizer mod folder has tons of stuff in it, a totally uneducated guess makes me wonder if there are too many textures in this folder but that can only b if the game searches everything instead of just the loaded mods. This hood went blue on my PC during play, it was fine, had a sex scene so it was removed, when it reequipped the texture was gone. EDIT: clipped down jpg version added Vid card is an AMD Radeon 7900series with a gig of RAM
myuhinny Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 More people will be inclined to look at your screenshot if it wasn't in BMP form as they have to download it just to look at it. It's better to use something like paint net and throw the screenshot file into it and then use the save as and change it to something like jpeg.
myuhinny Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Looking at the picture purple means missing texture files or incorrect texture paths in the nif.
Fotogen Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 It can also be: - out of video RAM (too many 4K/high res textures combined with weak video card) - broken texture, no mipmaps
Guest carywinton Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Yep I am inclined to agree, failure of the video card to render texture, I have seen this before in Skyrim with a log texture in the city of thieves, when VRAM took a nose dive. What video card, motherboard, RAM, etc. are you running? This might help isolate the problem, normally it would be an incorrect texture path or missing texture, but in this case, since it clears up then returns after game play starts, it looks more like hardware or driver failure.

Makes sense but I was in denial as the card isnt really that old. Anyone know a good VRAM test I can get? Its a Radeon 7900 series with a pentium 5 and Azrock Z87 MB
