New install; load order help please.

Hello, 
 
I recently re-installed Oblivion, and I wanted to upgrade to some of the newer Lovers Mods; I figured the best way would be to re-install and then add stuff a little at a time. I followed all of the directions and posted load order examples but I get a CTD on start up won't event get to the main menu. 
 
If someone can help out I'd be grateful. I'm sure it's either a load order or I'm missing a mod somewhere.

CTD on start up where it crashes before the logo means missing master/masters masters are mods needed for another mod to run if you don't have it then you will crash to desktop a master needs to be above the one needing it.  download it unzip it and run the .exe that is in the rar it will try to load everything that you have installed in your game if it hits a error in the load order it will stop and give you a reason why in the bottom right hand area read it fix it. Close TES4Edit and repeat starting it till you no longer hit anymore errors then try your game again.

Not sure on the error. Have you done a bash patch? If so what was in it? If a mod was changed maybe reinstalling your mods 1 at a time might fix it. If something was changed in your oblivion install itself you might have to redo it.

Read/Write privilege (UAC) on C:\Users\Adam\AppData\Local\Oblivion\ ?

 

Side note: later versions of UOP should have the racefix so no need for extra esp.

I simply could not get the current install to work so I decided to start over and a complete re-install. But the Install shield wouldn't even finish loading and I was using the DVD version. So that wouldn't work so I tried to install the Steam version, well that worked but now the game won't go to full screen. Even after I edited the .ini file. 

 

I'm beginning to think I have a registry issue...I'd rather not mess with that and don't want to re-install windows but I'm fast running out of options. 

 

I'm all ears if someone has a solution. Otherwise I'm looking at a complete re-install. :(

Sometimes when errors and things pop up a complete re-install is the best option. First go to where you have your oblivion installed preferably not in program folder but in your game folder instead as problems can arise when having it in your program folder where steam installs it at. First wipe out the whole oblivion folder then uninstall it from steam you do it this way to make sure you get rid of everything as steam only uninstalls what it installed into the folder. Then try re-installing it through steam again and see if everything is A-OK.

Do you think a complete re-install? Or would a 7zip up, delete the oblivion folder, then unZip would work? Or should I just redownload from steam?

Complete re-install means wiping everything out only rar up mods that you modified that you want to keep and not have to redo them. Everything else needs to be wiped out because if you rar your old oblivion up and then put your old oblivion back in after the re-install you basically did something for nothing as your oblivion will now be back to where it was before you re-installed it. The reason you wipe everything out is because you want a clean install not a dirty as hell install that will start throwing errors and what not at you.

 

Lots of old files hold info for other mods .ini files obse files and so forth if you do a re-install and then put them back in even if those mods are no longer installed you will get crap popping up errors CTD's for things that are no longer installed but because you placed those old files in there those errors are now coming from them and they now messed up your new clean install and you'll end up doing it again to fix it.

After the re-install the Windowed mode is still there. I am at a loss and have no idea what to do next....

The game starts up in full screen but when I get to the title menu it goes to windowed mode, and when I go to the player creation menu it stays

windowed.

OMG!! What a pain in the @$$ BUT it works! So I re-installed through steam, then got the windowed mode crap, BUT  a long time ago I followed 

Razarkis' installation guide and the used that to UnZip over the current install. Well it worked! I have a clean install of Oblivion, - I still need to use the disk, BUT It worked!
