Help me to choice my new graphic card

Hello everyone!

 

I have a radeon 6670 1 gb xfx but with my new HD monitor 1920x1080 i cant handle skyrim, only with windowed mode. And sucks.

 

I have to choices:

 

Gigabyte RADEON R9 270X 2GB

In my country the Gigabyte card its the cheapest compared with the sapphire. And has three fans. If you are owners of one of these. Tell me your opinion. Which is better with perfomance. I cant spend more money so dont recommend another models. TY in advance.

there are some ebay links there to some ex-cryptominers trying to offload spare graphics cards with prices marked down by a lot. i thought i saw an r9 280x for 200$ ish or something.

 

 

I have a gigabyte r9 280x. has the same windforce cooling as the one you linked. works pretty well for me. The OC is nice and it doesnt seem to have any heat issues despite being put in pretty poor ventilation conditions.

but the sapphire Vapor-X 290x is meant to be the most silence of the 270x's

im going with the Vapor-X anyway the Dual-X was a cheap solution.

but ive been told go for the 4gb ones but i dont think its neededa

also you'll gonna need a 600W PSU if your riding the vapor-x and gigabyte

in conclusion

Vapor-X for silent fans

Gigabyte for little more power.

Depends on how much money you want to spend.

I bought an ASUS Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II TOP, 1-2 months ago and i'm pretty satisfied

It's also not that expensive. I spend 260 Euro on mine.

 

I know you said, that we shouldn't recommend other GPUs and although the 270x is an improvement compared to your old GPU - it's not really worth to spend 170 Euros on it.

In my experience both brands are acceptable but Sapphire probably has better built quality than Gigabyte.  Performance wise Gigabyte is a marginally OC card where Sapphire Dual-X is not (probably why Gigabyte put 3 fans on it instead of 2).  If Sapphire Toxic 270x (Sapphire's OC version of 270) is out of your price range and you don't OC then Gigabyte will be marginally faster.

As a PC builder myself I am no fan of Either Sapphire or Gigabyte... in my systems I use mainly MSI and ASUS they are more expensive, but you get a great card, that is durable.... and I use in almost all cases an Geforce.

 

If you are determined on having an Radeon: I suggest you go through this list:

Least you will need an Video-card with least 2GB memory (preferably more)

Cards with a benchmark of 900 (and Up) doing well. only you wont be able to play on highest settings for that you will need a card that is closer to the 3000 (or better) 

 

Beware that when you buy an new video-card you most likely also need a new (read better) power supply, in most cases it means an new system. If you want to play with your present card I suggest you first lower down the screen resolution settings to like 1360-768, no anti-aliasing or Anisotropic Filtering, and set the details to medium. in most cases Skyrim will be playable. Also it is advised to disable ANY high resolution DLC (official and unofficial).

mean i've seen TechOfTomorrow did a review on the Sapphire Vapor-X 270x and they said it ran BF4 50fps Average maxed out Triple-AAA (or MXAA cant remember) and they used a AMD CPU with it because well, AMD cards handle games that require alot of power to play like BF4 as GTX 760 is a upgrade to a 270x it actually played 7fps less then the 270x on BF4 so considering im using BF4 as a example and that skyrim would properly need alot more power to use Very High Triple AAA with ENB im sure High with like Realistic ENB would stay 40fps and barely touch 30fps at lowest. so i'd say Vapor X is a nice silent GPU whats well worth the cash

but i think GTX 760 plays skyrim slightly better then thr 270x and 280 plays sligtly better then the 760.

but meh

Vapor-X has to be the best card for its price.

Well you can't go on fps alone. I have an ATI and it experiences micro stutters in Skyrim, no complaints about it otherwise. Nvidia does too, it's just less noticeable.

Does anyone know any brands for nvidia now ?? my old card 560 TI and it just died out my current budget does not allow me to any newer expensive once but what sort of budget card is now able to load skyrim like 560 TI 2 gig ??

 

My backup card is no wat capable of playing any games it is nvidia 7300 LE so it is really old.

 

how does a :

 

ASUS GeForce GT630-SL-2GD3-L - 2GB - PCI-E

 

play ?? is it any better then my broken Nvidia 560 TI ??

One of my friends recently got that one (at least I think it was that type) and so far played without any major problems. There was just a minor issue related to software he encountered; judging by the search results on google it was nothing common yet easily fixable.

I have just had a  ASUS Radeon R9 290X DirectCU II  OC  (4 GB) installed and Skyrim is playing like silk (thank goodness for generous family members    - as my old card died just over a week ago and I thought I might not be able to get a new card before the Autumn)
