Nbay6480 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Ok, so I recently found a body texture that I really want to use for my skyrim character, but I don't like the veins on the the body and hands. The creator has already told me that he has no plans on making a version without veins, so the only way to get rid of them is to do it myself. The problems is, I have no idea how to modify or edit texture files, so I need help. If it's not too much to ask, I would like for someone to either get rid of the veins on the body and hands themselves and then send it to me through PM or by attaching the vein-less versions in a post on this topic, or help me by teaching me how to get rid of them myself. I use Photoshop CS6 64-Bit with DDS viewing and editing plug-ins, so I assume I can modify them that way. The mod author has also stated that if I can make or have someone make a vein-less version of these textures, that they are free to distribute. So if you like these textures like I do and also want a vein-less version, then you can help yourself as well as me and the rest of the community by lending a hand (without veins) Thanks in advance! -Nbay64 Textures.rar

Nbay6480 Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 First, remove the duplicate threads. Then people will have more respect to help you. Yea, that was unintentional. I didn't realize what section I was posting in.

I didn't realize what section I was posting in. Won't let me delete the duplicate threads. If a mod could get rid of all of the other threads except this on that would be great. Mistakes happen. Nothing to be ashamed of. You can edit the thread that you don't want and link to the current thread that you do want people to look at. Eliminate all the other info except perhaps a very brief statement. Something along this lines Double post. need help on texture modifications. Proper post here. (with link) Moderators please delete this thread. If you have multiple post people will be responding on two separate post and can cause problems. Potentially loosing you the help that you want because one of the threads will be deleted eventually (well locked) and the person helping you might not put forth any more effort to find the second one. At their convenience the moderators will make the lock or even delete the thread (if you request it in the OP of the wrong thread) when they are able. In any case people will be directed to the proper thread. As for the OP question. I am not sure. It might be pretty complex .. at least to get a very good quality. Perhaps post some screen captures of the original body and your issues. Maybe someone might even clean it up as they might decide they like it themselves as well. Also is this mod free to use and distribute (changes)? or is it only personal use. You might get better response with open free to distribute textures.
myuhinny Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Could also just change the name of the duplicate threads to *delete* and then erase everything in those threads that might get them noticed and deleted faster.

Not trying to sound rude here, but I'd appreciate it if we got back to the main task at hand.

pornphile Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Hi. 1. Select patch tool. Make your selection. 2. Edit ==> Fill. Select content aware fill from dropdown menu. Click OK. You can try some combination of clone/spot healing brushes too. You'll also want a non-veiny normal map which you can probably get from another body. Work in layers. Keep your file in .psd until you get the result you want. Saving as .dds will cause degradation.

Turns out this only really works with the veins on the legs. Trying this method anywhere near the breasts or torso messes up the entire texture.
pornphile Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Post your results? Here, I've used the standard patch tool on intricate breast veins. Make a selection with patch and move the patch to a similar color area without veins. Explore the clone source tool. It can inverse x axis orientation so you can effectively clone one side's texture to the other.
