xenic Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I saw this pick at thumbnail size and thought "Centaur mod!" I was disappointed but it did get me wondering as to what everyone else is looking forward to in terms of race modes. There has been some talk of a Draenai mod and I remember someone working on a shark race, and Trykx is working on a few last I heard. But which ones are you waiting on and why?
XJ347 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 A race mod that I would LOVE would be a Minotaur race mod. Would be fun playing a giant Minotaur with a huge axe. At this point, racemenu or ECE can adapt any normal humanoid race to anything... So any new custom race should be something unique to get my attention. Draenai wouldn't be so bad...
nutluck Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 For me personally lore friendly races and ones that are easy to install. Like adding the Skaal I think would be interesting. Yes I know they are Nords to a point but living further north and I guess you could say more pure blooded. I could see them being better at archery than nords as they strike me as hunters, more on cold resist less on other stuff etc. There is a number of lore established races already in the game that I would like to see. Imga, Tang Mo or Lilmothiit, for example.

HrothgarGrimir Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I always wanted to play a Falmer not a Snow Elf but one of the Snow Elves twisted descendants. I downloaded the alternate actor mod so I could take possession of anyone in the game and used a Markarth guard and with the console commands I "SetRace Falmer" on him so he became a Falmer then tried to possess his body but I couldn't attack anything or equip any Falmer Weapons or Armor and the camera went all haywire on me and I got a CTD when switching bodies back. It would be nice if someone made a Falmer player character race and made a set of light Falmer Armor. Also I don't know if this is possible but I would like to see a brutish Argonian with a body shaped like a deathclaw from Fallout and they would be strictly unarmed brawlers and magic users. Also a Dunmer spider centaur would be cool with the lower half of a Frostbite Spider and the upper half a Dunmer. I have a few other idea's but unfortunately the CK is a complete mystery to me even after watching the tutorials over and over again.
Contessa Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I'm eagerly awaiting that Mermaid Race that's being worked on here on LL. I really loved Ashara's Sirens and Tritons race in Oblivion with how when you swam you "morphed" into your natural form as a Siren (mermaid).
sweforce Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Well thought out and immersion friendly race mods. I do not like to be one of a kind person. When creating new races, throw in a couple of npc in the world to show that thease people actually exist and do not just drop a couple of braindead followers just using standard voices. An example, lets say I create an underwater breathing sea elf race with a bit of blue/greenish skin. Then adding some into the environment could do some good. Imagine finding one on the docks of Solitude selling "goods harvested from the sea". For instance.
RunicGray Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Mostly, I look for high quality textures. If the textures/features don't look on par with the replacers and other races I have, it removes the unity of the game's appearance for me. After that, almost anything is game.
Guest Vendayn Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I have been waiting for a rock race for years. Yes, a rock. I want to play a big giant boulder that rolls around. And then the bandit goes "Stop! THIS HERE IS A TOLL ROAD! PAY UP OR ELSE" and then I can laugh a lot as I pwn it as a rock... And as a rock, I'd be slower moving...but tons of health/armor and lower damage. No carry weight (you can carry 0 things, cause you are just a boulder...but maybe wear a backup for carry weight! A boulder that wears stuff...yeah) I really want to play as a boulder. No eyes, no mouth, no ears...just a boulder that goes around. Why? Cause it be hilarious as hell cause the AI is shit so bandits would try to hold you (a boulder) hostage and NPCs treat you normally...and I'd laugh like hell. Maybe it be funny for a few hours, but it be the best few hours ever.
Guest Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I've always liked the idea of a proper shape shifter sort of race. They'd have to have some lore built around them, I'm thinking of inuit style shaman mystics and the mythical Ijiraat that can assume the form of a wolf, crow, bear or human and can only be identified by it's red eyes. I guess gameplay wise they'd resemble WoW's druids, shifting into whatever form most suited the circumstances, so bear for sturdy tanking and AoE melees, cat or wolf for sneaky attacks or mobile light armoured fighting, a crow for travelling etc. As for assuming human form, you could say, mimic a bandit, stroll into an otherwise heavily defended camp, and pick them off one by one or turn into a bear when you're right in among them and get medieval on their asses.
Uno Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 I agree with b3ast1e, a shape shifter race would be awesome... fortunately for me there's a lot of mods wich I'm currently using to fulfill my fantasy *.*
HrothgarGrimir Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 There is a spell on the nexus that lets you Polymorph into any creature, animal or human.
