Is there a way to imprison NPCs/Followers into city jails? (w/o imprisoning the PC)

Is there a way to imprison NPCs/Followers in city jails via console commands or mods? This would be for imprisoning ONLY the NPC (not the PC).

To keep Skyrim interesting, I decided to try a roleplay. Give a character backstory, motivations, and goals. Problem is the character has now achieved the end goal (revenge) and I'm at a loss for what to do next with the character.

One idea that came to mind was to have a follower be imprisoned. That would give me a legitimate reason to break them out and make an entire hold go hostile on me.

If anyone has ideas on "what comes after revenge," those are welcome too.

open console,

target follower,

move your character into the prison cell, using tcl if necessary

open console, enter moveto player. NPC should warp to you

Leave cell, using tcl if necessary

I didn't tried it, but it should work, I guess. Better dismiss the follower first,.

To my knowledge, followers cannot be arrested thou it be fun if they could. Some followers can sell of loot on their own when told so. It would be great if they sometimes get caught selling stolen goods and the messenger shows with a letter about the need to bail them out.

strange, last year when i was playing skyrim with one of my lost saves, i lost contact with Lydia and Serana after killing a dragon

then i used the console to know where they are, and for my surprise, both 2 were on Whiterun's Jail, Arrested for some unknown reason

I've had followers arrested during the Civil War quest in Whiterun. After noticing that half my followers were missing I entered prid xxxx and player.moveto in the console and found myself in a prison cell with my missing followers.
