xenic Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I have come up with several insane playthroughs in recent months. One of my crazier ones was exiting a broken stargate with a gun, limited ammo, and beginning from there. I've seen lots of "not the dragonborn" playthroughs or "super villian" playthroughs. What's your craziest?
Epic Gamer Frey Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I roleplayed Black Dynamite in Skyrim. Edit: This was back when I was a dirty console peasant. Now if I were to remake him on PC, thanks to mods I could actually do a proper RP of him.
Night~Sky Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Not sure if it strictly fits the definition of crazy, but the most adverse playthrough I've done was from (custom) start to finish using nothing but the transformation spells and their abilities from the MLP mod, without using console commands to sequence break. I didn't bother keeping track of the number of automatic save slots I had to use for redundancy every time it bugged out. Did finish the main quest though. Beyond that, I've done some rather silly playthroughs using Alternate Actors. The most ridiculous (though not crazy) playthrough I've ever done was using the Burning Skies mod (playable dragon mod), with some personal modifications to it, and doing as little as possible while not actually playing as a dragon. It required essentially making an extra dragon transformation for the mod which used a clone of an existing dragon type, but downscaled to about half, and then extensive use of the customized third person camera (and an awful lot of redundant autosaves to recover each time it broke).
dobmc Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 The most "ridiculous" play-through? By not playing the game, of course. Oh wait I think thats a complement… Crap.
Epic Gamer Frey Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Using Skulls and Telekinesis only to attack. That's what I used when playing as Black Dynamite. Throwing shit before I walked in a room. But I didn't just use skulls. I used anything. Oh and I used Unarmed too.
Mord Sif Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 With the help of SD+, I have an alternate profile where I'm playing as a slave. My owner is one of my own NPC followers, and she does all the fighting while I keep out of the way or run when combat starts. It's hard to fight when your wrists are shackled behind your back Not sure how long I can carry on with it before it gets a bit dull, but it's great fun so far. We can still do quests. Sometimes I have to talk to her and go into the command mode to get her to pull switches and things, but there's usually a workaround for obstacles a bound slave can't handle on her own. If not, I can temporarily free myself without consequences by dismissing her, rehiring her, doing what I need, and then asking her to enslave me again. One of the best things is, every time there's a fight, I get the message that it's my chance to escape while my owner is busy. I have no intention of escaping, though, so I always hang around. And then, when everything's dead, she punishes me for even thinking about it. Perfect roleplay!
JBloggz Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Using console commands, I once filled my inventory till I was overuncumbered with dwemer junk. My task: Make it to Markarth from Riverwood without losing anything, then dumping it all infront of that bitch of a smith and expecting her to make stuff. I dont remember if I made it...
TalMaheRa Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Depends what you mean by ridiculous. In this case, I mean adorable and funny. All credit to /tesg/, whether they want it or not. Deal with it. I played as Sackman (a training dummy) doing the whole Toy Story/Weeping Angels thing. Had to take a couple of liberties to make it work in the beginning. Kids, drunks, animals, the insane, and Khajiit were the only non-hostile npc's "permitted" to see him move around. Some animation shuffling took care of the rest (mainly so I could sneak around without looking like I was sneaking around.) For a while, Sackman just roamed around, until I got the itch to actually, y'know, do something. As it turns out, Kaassi (for some bullshit reason I can't recall now) needed a "guardian", and Sackman needed an asspull to stop hiding from people. But this is where it gets less ridiculous and more boring, so I'll stop here. ... well, more boring if you consider a little cat girl talking to a training dummy like they were the best of friends, boring.
Jeffrey Lane Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 My worst was playing thru just the main story, as a perma level 1 (meaning i never opened the skills page at all) with no armor on master difficulty. (was before legendary was out) that was the 1 and only time i actually wanted to use a follower. with mods boosting spawns and mob difficulty, it was kinda required. i did have to cheat a bit to do Skuldafn, i used the console to bring my follower with me. even had to make my own mod for it, adding shields with no armor value, they helped a little bit, but not alot.
DukeLeos Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Well it WAS going to be; If I take an arrow to the knee I would head to the nearest town and play as a guard... but as it turns out NPCs don't aim for your knees. Odd.
Jeffrey Lane Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Well it WAS going to be; If I take an arrow to the knee I would head to the nearest town and play as a guard... but as it turns out NPCs don't aim for your knees. Odd. not true at all as you can see, it was indeed quite deadly. (man my game used to look so ugly, thats one of my oldest screenshots)
afa Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Currently thinking about a trade skills first playthrough that will spend nearly all the time in the beginning within town or "safe" location only. Start doesn't matter can probably hit Riverwood first then Whiterun if playing vanilla or use other start mod to start in a Hold, then use carriage to travel through different Holds. The goal is to level up Alchemy (pick up ingredient in town), Enchant (buy and sell), Smithing (safe mining and buy and sell), and by association Speechcraft. Then might work up to Pickpocket, Lockpicking, non offensive spells, or Sneak as well. Might use trainers for combat related skills in between. This way should make the game spawn the highest level mobs when entering any new hostile areas, and can test if the game is easier or harder than a more "typical" playthrough when combat skill is minimal vs high level enemies, but in return have good gear and support abilities. Also wonder the time efficiency of this method of leveling vs normal
legendarytoyou Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Craziest playthrough...hmm I've done a number from Paladin of Mara (can't kill anything except undead and daedra), the Pure Pacifist (no kills at all and no combat skills learned), Naked Archer (no melee skills just archery, I had to kill stuff with terminal force first shot or I was screwed and all level points had to be pooled into stamina so I went from Riverwood to Sovngarde with only 100 HP...on Legendary, Tsun was a bitch >.<), Pure Mage (need I say more) and Solsthiem Redeemed Berserker (basically a berserker that had been taken in by the Skaal, specialized in two-handed weapons and alteration). My craziest though is still in the works; Naked Monk. Using the Grandmaster mod from the Nexus pretty much this is a particular monastic order that believes true enlightenment comes from feeling the Winds of Kynareth. As such clothing is considered aberrant and armor is strictly forbidden. Alteration tree is allowed however other skills are not. Archery is allowed however destruction magic is seriously frowned upon. Been trying to convert the Grandmaster mod to use up the two-handed tree instead of Speechcraft (using nudist mod Socialize adds some very nice bonuses to the speech tree) however doing so is extremely confusing so I've had to put that save to the side until I can get someone to help me or at the very least share with me a two-handed weapon replacer of the Grandmaster mod. Talked with the author, still hasn't talked to me Y>Y
