Wondering what enb or mod polishing anybody is using to make their characters look so good, is it just post-processing effects from enb? i feel like my setup looks really bland, im just using swimm and 2k textures, along with sg body textures.

Heres screenie of my counterpart so far, i wish to change it and bring more vibrant color to face textures, any recommendations?

edit, now using popouri enb with elfx lighting (required). I find its a bit dark sometimes, not enough saturation for my liking, but its very good, check it out

notice jessica alba in the right, the lighting made her lips look off for some reason kinda*, i can undress her hehehe. heres a secret, once you change body on your character, it changes body for all, then open up console, click on any npc literally. Then you see id in bottom right, type unequipall xxxxx

or download UFO mod aka ultimate overhaul something? gives dialogue so you can change clothing on npc, or take it off. Its my first time adding new clothes, so i changed the rag robes okay lol.

i would recommend RealVision ENB, it looks great but unless you have a beast of a pc you wont be able to run the non performance version, even 3gb of v ram and 16 gm of normal ram my pc was struggling without the performance version. you can get it here, http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30936/? it has a little bit more complicated install than most however so make sure to follow the instructions.

*EDIT*

Some screens

Funny because I have 2GB of VRAM (GTX 760), and no issue with Realvision max quality at all. I can run at 1080p, and I'm comfortable with 30fps. The lighting conditions are kind of weird sometimes due to Climates of Tamriel being weird, but my character always looks really good. I'll give you guys a screenshot or two, just gotta edit them in...

Aside from an obvious clipping issue or two, she looks just fine to me.

Moral of the story is that the real difference maker is the quality of the lighting, and the fact that I run high textures (ONLY 2K and preferably 4K). Those two things combined have made for some spectacular pictures, especially in the sun. If I come across any, I'll screenshot them and put them in one of the photo threads.

i guess it is more about the speed of the gpu then, because i have an older GTX 580, but with 3gb of vram. i have been thinking of upgrading to a 770 or something but im not sure when the 800's will come out. i also added some screen shots to my earlier post.

I've got a GTX 770 with 4GB of memory on it, and realvision would give me FPS problems on occasion. Switched to realvision performance, stable 60FPS but without the DOF and such it just didn't feel pretty.  Currently running Poupouri first seed, which IMHO looks better then realvision and I have relatively stable 30FPS, except for rare occasions, strangely enough apparently when I lockpick and there is a lot of scenery in the background. Lockpicking in dungeons or indoors is fine.

As for ENB making characters much prettier then without ENB.  Yes, yes it does.

Here's some pictures of what that looks like. The characters aren't super, still look a bit plastic, could be a lot better anyway, but I'm also sure that would probably strain my pc too much, and I watch scenery more then characters anyway.

Do note that imgur decreases the quality by quite a bit. For the rifter thieves bar for instance the particles in the light beam are crisp and distinct.

Apart from the before mentioned GTX 770 my PC runs on a i5-4670k @ 3.4GHZ  with 16GB ram. So probably about mid range pc.

I've used three lately. Well, a few more than that, but three I really liked.

Somber3 is a beast. It drops my FPS from 60 to 35, but it's almost worth it. Nice moody cinematic screens. I've not found anything that didn't look good with Somber3, but there's just a hint of lag when I move or turn. So I don't use it much

Performance Gameplay ENB is pretty much the opposite. Doesn't do much but lets me use ENBoost and SMAA and the game does look better for it, if not dramatically different. I

think there are probably better lightweight presets out there, but I've found this one to be fairly reliable. Just make sure you disable the eye-popping Depth-Of-Field settings or you'll go cross-eyed every time you try and sneak through long grass.

But the one I'm using most at the moment is Skylight. A nice compromise between eye-candy and performance, works with night vision and apart from a little subtle lens glare, there are no annoying camera artifacts that I feel I need to disable. Very nice.

There is a preset called "Polo enb", just google it and you should be able to find it. Remember, if you want to use one of the higher end enb's you could always go into your enblocal.ini and disable Differed Rendering and see how much of a performance boost that gives you.

As for character mods, There are many to choose from, and each can make the character look very different.

Skin Textures:

Women of Skyrim                 (my personal favorite for normal maps and speculars)

Real Girls                             (I love this texture, looks best with enb)

SG_Female Texture             (I sometimes use the base textures from this if I want a more oriental look)

Fair Skin                               (another one of my favorites, obviously gives you pale skin, and high res textures)

Mature Skin                          (looks very nice too, I don't use it any more though)

Alt Navetsea unp seamless  (another one of my favorites, but i don't use it any more)

Barbarian/Milkdrinker           (not my cup of tea, if i want abs i use UNP fitness)

Battle Hardened                   (never used them, cant give you my opinion)

Hair:

SG_Hair                               (cant go back to Apachii Sky-Hair after using this, it's just too good)

Apachii Sky-Hair                  (lots of hair to choose from)

Eyes:

Just google "skyrim 700 eyes download" or something, you will probably find what you want in there.

I use Flan's eyes, Mystic eyes, Eyes of Beauty, Iridium eyes, and True eyes.. take your pick

thanks everyone for your suggestions, its hard to choose but ive decided to go with Popouri first seed enb

. The only problem is binary files, i cant find download for 0.251 on enbdev site. Anybody know a good link?

Its funny because i tried looking for enbs that were "last updated" on nexus and the ones i liked have binary files that arent available for dl anymore.

Just take a newer one, usually it shouldnt be a problem unless boris has added yet another feature to the ENB that eats all of your FPS.

It all depends on what PC you have what you install and what resolution you run 60 fps can easly  be achieved but it depends on many factors.

1080p or 1440p or just 720p it all make alot of difference :)

You can use 254 there is not much difference with 251 some minor fixes and changes.

Thankyou, it worked. Using Popouri enb,

colors arent saturated enough for my liking but thats okay, gives fantasy feel.

Still very impressive difference, i would upload screenie sometime, getting ctd atm. This enb cranks gpu fan very loud, as loud when i used to run project enb.

I want to find simple enb, that gives saturated colors and improves look of character skin by alot.

If only there was enb that focused on the characters only. I dont care too much for the environment, everything is smooth and cut nicely with smimm texture mod.

Did you try Serenity Enb? One of the reasons I use it is it makes skin look good, and if you look in enbseries.ini there are a few different SubSurfaceScattering presets to try, I personally prefer the sss settings of v7 and older.

k i tried it, its really nice enb. Less lush effects vs popouri. Honestly im not picky, this enb still makes my gpu crank the fan up. Oh well, im done testing so many different enbs, i tried project enb, serenity, popouri and couple others. Might be due to smimm and 2k textures, that + enb stresses my gpu.

Go into enblocal.ini and set "UseDefferedRendering=false" Disables everything that would use differed rendering while in game and increase performance, and still looks pretty much the same.

Can you give a summary of your experience between Popouri ENB and Project ENB?  Took me a while to get Project ENB with CoT to play nice with my system so I am pretty timid to try something else.  However, Project ENB development stopped at 0.221 so I am not sure what 254 brings to the table since.  Also, I kind of wanting to try ELFX which Popouri is specifically designed for and it is not compatible with CoT.

Edit: Can you also give a performance comp?  I have to make some adjustments because my system cannot handle Project ENB at the max level.  This is also why I stay with Project ENB because of the detailed instructions and different presets provided for people who don't know how to manually adjust ENB.

Opethfeldt was my favourite ENB by far... back when I had decent gfx card, nowadays I can only afford to run CoT + ELFX. Not sure if this is what you are looking for but give it a shot.

This ENB uses enb's own weather system and is directly incompatible with CoT/elfx/stuff of that nature, even tho I used to run it with both for extra /fantasy/ vibe.

I use Serenity Enb, it's by far my favorite and no matter what enb I try I always go back. Here's two of my character screenshots to give you some idea.

I highly recommend this too! Although I've been using The Wilds myself.

Markkey, what body is that in your screenshots?

i used bodyslide to create custom body, also i downloaded hdt physics extension 14.28. The body set i changed under is called HDT CBBE. thats what i selected in bodyslide anyway. If you want, i can upload my body files and you can try them out.

still i highly suggest download bodyslide, its alot easier. you are just using sliders outside of the game. Then you save preset*, then create bodies. It then automatically replaces your body and every npc as well.

you can actually create custom body, save it, export it, and replace followers or companions body, i did it for jessica alba mod hehe.

Also, @ wrz, project enb ran okay for me, i have good system though. r9 290, i7, 16gig ram. I dont like high enbs because my gpu gets very loud. I dont upgrade very often. like 5-6 years. seriously.

Also i turned off deferredRendering, it still looks pretty good. thankyou for all that mentioned that.

For my personal preferences there is only one ENB...Poupouri Morning Star 168

My primary attention is how the characters look with an ENB...realistic and balanced colours with good light influence not colourful comic style graphics...and here PMS does the best job in my opinion...plus it is quite good from point of performance (Morning Star Extended for binary 251 is a little harder to handle)

I can´t use ENB since my graphic card died, now I have a nvidia GT 630 and any ENB I have tried drops my FPS to less than 20 (unplayable).

As I can´t stand anymore on the vanilla graphics, I have searched a compromise between graphic mods and performance, here are my results:

Running game at Normal resolution with 1280x960

Graphic mods:

- Realistic Lightning overhaul

- Cinematic Fire Effect

- Dynavision dinamic depth of field

FPS: about 40-50 (some zones 30 fps)

72850_screenshots_2014_06_22_00001.jpg

I am very happy with how my Skyrim looks now, I am trying to say that ENB is not really necessary in low end machines to have good graphics, and get some good performance too, but the first thing I will do when I have some spare money is to buy a new graphic card that allows me to add a good ENB over these few mods :)

Yeah I know bodyslide but it's hard to get the same results just by looking at screenshots. Could you please upload your body files or bodyslide preset?
