McCheesyBirdMess Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 With my latest character I wanted to make her look as real as possible. So I installed the SG Female Renewal mod for UNP. Out of some curiosity, I tried the Milkdrinker skin but didn't like it. After restoring my folder with the SG textures in it on from back up, I noticed something strange. My character has a metallic "glow" to them. It's very noticeable in shadows. She looks like someone painted bronze all her her body. I've tried everything to make this shine go away. I thought it was my ENB but it happens with it off. I tried the No More Bronze Glow mod, nothing. This bronze thing even happens with the regular UNP textures, which I know shouldn't happen. I feel like some loose file is causing this.
PsychoMachina Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Try this. No More Ugly Bronze Shine http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29791/? EDIT Nvm, reread your post and saw you already tried it.
Redflyingmonkey Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 That's strange, looks like a subsurface issue but you said the No More textures didn't help right ? You sure you overwrote everything they asked ? Also, double check that you downloaded the maps for UNP and not CBBE. Do you have glosstech or did you tweak stuff in your body nif files ?
pclp2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 The reason are the textures "xxx_sk.dds". If you still have the old textures (where the problem was not) use the xxx_sk.dds from there. Or you edit the xxx_sk.dds textures and colors them black. xxx is femalebody, femalehead, femalehand etc.
McCheesyBirdMess Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 Ok here's what I've tried. I tried No More Bronze Shine again, still didn't work. I restored all my sk files from the back up before this happened, still glows. I tried deleting the sk files, still glows. I tried uninstalling UNP and all it's textures and re-installing, still glows. Idk what else to do. Also I do not have gloss tech or have messed with my nifs.
pclp2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Do you use Mod Organizer or NMM? It seems as if Skyrim, the textures do not use from the folder, but from the BSA. Normally the sk.dds have a 0 in the file name, as well as the other body textures. Edit: Oh, you use a custom race?
McCheesyBirdMess Posted May 14, 2014 Author Posted May 14, 2014 Yes I use NMM, but the texture mods I installed manually because the SG one had options. And no my race is Nord. I've also noticed when I use No More Ugly Bronze Shine and go into a shadow I can see this red, heavily pixelized color on my chin and neck. I can list my current mods UNP Body SG Female Renewal Demon Hunter Armor Demon Hunter Armor V2 Climates of Tamriel Enhance Distant Terrain Fox31 Armor Necklaces and circlets without jewels No More Bronze Shine NM Jewelry HD Torches HD Fire UNP Vanilla Armor Conversion Zoner's High Performance ENB
pclp2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I could probably still long puzzle over what is wrong with your textures. I thought to myself, I'll simply send the correct textures. If it does not work then you probably installed a mod, who in his ESP the Skinbody_female set overrides. To my previous post, a correction: the textures contain 1 and not 0 in the name. That's what to write from memory. Data.7z
Rayblue Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Also, try switching to another ENB preset and/or binaries (preferably more recent and stable versions, such as 0.236 or 0.254) to see if that would also work, because some older ENB presets haven't been updated to deal with new types of textures, mesh effects, etc. And subsurface scattering. BTW, Zoners has since been superseded by z ENB, but it uses 0.217 binaries. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40588/?
