Dawnguard and Serana Bugged - Unable to Continue

When you cannot move anymore and the camera is stuck, there's also the command epc (Enable Player Controls) which gives back control.

Yeah I tried enableplayercontrols a few days ago - and it DID return controls - but then the quest wouldn't progress - and using setstage console commands wouldn't cure it.

 

I even started the next quest(using console sommands) - got to the Snow Elf - and then HE bugged out!

 

So rolling back seems the best choice. As much as I wish there was a better option

For your next playtrough, switch to AFT (even if it's interface is ... not very usable). This mod is far more stable than UFO, and less intrusive.

 

15 hours rollback ... Good thing it has worked for you but that sucks. A lot.

if this problem crops up again try clicking on Serana and entering:

 

Setstage DLC1NPCMentalModel 20

Setpqv DLC1NPCMentalModel CanBeDismissed true

 

; And if you already completed the main Dawnguard quest:

Setpqv DLC1NPCMentalModel QuestLineCompleted true

I have had an issue with entering Castle Volkihar from the main entrance for months.  Something in one of the official updates changed something.  One of the last three is my guess.  I was able to do the whole Dawnguard questline multiple times with over 100 mods each time.  I use fewer mods these days.  Even using BOSS and TESVEdit, nothing helps.  Console commands and starting new games. 

 

Not being able to enter that main door really messes up a lot of the Dawnguard quests.  It's extrememly frustrating.  I've tried playing the game with just a body replacer and vanilla clothing replacer and still I managed to get a crash at the doors when the loading screen runs a little bit.

 

Here's the funny part.  There is one resolution I know of that is stupid.  When I use Krista's Ladybody replacer, the Dawnguard quests run fine, lol.  I'm totally serious.  I love Krista's Ladybody, but I also use other body replacers sometimes with a fresh reinstall.  How can that be?  It doesn't make any sense right?  That can't be a good resolution.  It does work though.  Right now I'm using Sevenbase body replacer, so I'm stuck at the doors once again.  I just updated all my unofficial patches too.  They don't address this issue though, obviously.
