Fredas Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 On this particular topic... did any of you animators ever consider the feasibility of taking some preexisting animations and truncating their data in such a way that only the torso component is animated, and then permitting the limbs / head to be subject to Havok, in much the same way breasts can be similarly left up to physics during animations? It seems to me that, provided the torso isn't doing anything especially lifelike in the given animation, this could render an agreeable result, with the added bonus of 1) opening the door to a lot of preexisting animation, and 2) obviously enabling a certain measure of backwards compatibility with existing frameworks. For example, the "necro" iteration of "reverse cowgirl" (or whatever) would be the non-animated-limbs version of the regular reverse cowgirl. Going to admit up front that I don't know how feasible this would be. But it's a fact that breasts can be left non-animated and subject to Havok. I don't see what technical barriers there could be to doing the same for other parts of the body.

FloppySOS uses RCAE to enforce a certain measure of control over HDT-dictated body parts on an actor, and in doing so, manages to generally avoid the spazzing issue you reference. This might prove useful in at least keeping certain limbs pointing in a certain direction, out of the way. The spazzing issue does, however, seem to appear under a certain framerate threshold regardless, as I personally discovered. Two things at the very least. First, there are surely some animations out there where the potential of limbs getting in the way is conveniently minimized. Second, the head probably runs next to zero risk of this problem in almost all cases, so animations could at least be reworked for the sake of the head; still-active limbs could be glossed over, or said to be "magically" animated. ;p

Has anyone actually done a female cow farm where you can milk or cull the cows for food or even breed with / them to create more cows? As I don't recall one that would be nice idea maybe become the farmer or cattle. Any takers?
