B0ss plz Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Alrighty guys, now this is really grinding my gears, if you haven't seen or just don't remember, here's my problem I had not just a couple of weeks ago. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/28374-skyrim-crashes/ This time it's not an ENB problem, it started strangely I think. I was playing my new level 9 after I resolve my first crash issue and now it's doing it again... _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Just a basic overveiw on my new character; Race: Archon Hero (From the Fable series) http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31523/? Level 9 (This new game was started around three days ago). And the mods I just downloaded today was the Archon race, Fable Plate armor and the build your own home mod http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18480/? _______________________________________________________________________________________________ I was really exited to play this mod until the crashing started. Now, it first started by crashing near Bleak Falls Barrow trying to retrieve the golden claw with a crash with no warning. Okay, I said, it happens. Starting again I crashed again after another 10 minutes in game. Once again, I loaded and crashed when I entered Bleak Falls Barrow. Now every time I load the game it crashes as it loads, no game time, just nothing. This also happens when I try to start a new game, after 10 seconds of gameplay, boom, it crashes. I'd share my load order but I hate it when it takes over the whole screen like the link to my last problem. Can someone tell me how to put up a spoiler tab and how to once again resolve my crashing.
dje34 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 You used BOSS for load order and TESV Edit for dirty edits, didn't you ?
B0ss plz Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Yes, that's true. Is that the problem perhaps?
gvman3670 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Using BOSS will give the right load order over 90% of the time. And cleaning master files with TES5Edit will only save you from problems. Are you running either SSME or the newest 1.7 SKSE for a memory allocation fix? If not I'd highly suggest you do. To put up a spoiler simply put :spoiler: and :/spoiler: inside of brackets (instead of colons) before and after what you want hidden. If you quote someone with a spoiler in their post you can see how it's done. Like this
B0ss plz Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Yeah I use BOSS but yet it seems worthless. I do have the latest version of SKSE but I've cleaned Update.esm and the DLC but not Skyrim.esm, this is because I saw a few posts saying not to do so, should I?
dje34 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Yeah I use BOSS but yet it seems worthless. I do have the latest version of SKSE but I've cleaned Update.esm and the DLC but not Skyrim.esm, this is because I saw a few posts saying not to do so, should I? No ! Latest version of SKSE is an alpha, maybe it could be the problem. Try the last 'stable' version. If it doesn't help I really think it has something to do with your mods. How many dirty edits in all your mods do you have ?
B0ss plz Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Something's wrong, this come up when I try to install it.
dje34 Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Something's wrong, this come up when I try to install it. I'm sure it has something to do with ESO Just kiddin' ! This is the alpha you are trying to install, I can't really help you with that but it looks like your archive is corrupted. Try to download v1.6.16 or v1.7 again (from another source ?)
Jeffrey Lane Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 are you using the same load order posted in the other topic ya had? i see a few issues in it.
B0ss plz Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 are you using the same load order posted in the other topic ya had? i see a few issues in it. It has kind of altered ever since I re-installed Skyrim but a bit similar
gvman3670 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Throw up your papyrus logs and full load order. Without those it's anybody's guess what is going on.
gvman3670 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Another thing. You said you reinstalled and started fresh. Did you go to documents/my games/Skyrim and delete the entire Skyrim folder before reinstalling? If not then you're just going to carry the bad mojo over from the last install. You need to delete literally EVERYTHING Skyrim before a reinstall. The next time you run the Skyrim Launcher it will make a fresh folder with .ini files for you. Have you used scripted mods then removed them? You can't do that. You can sort of fix orphaned scripts if you make a new file in Notepad and name it "SKSE.ini" then place it in the Skryim/data/SKSE folder. And in this .ini file put this... [General] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1
B0ss plz Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 I'm sorry, I'm not fully understanding gvman3670, it's a lot to take in. Could you somehow dumb that down for me?
gvman3670 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 What are you not getting, bud? You know the folder that holds your Skyrim.ini, SkyrimPrefs.ini and saves? That folder has to DIE a miserable death, or at least get deleted, when you do a reinstall. It carries bad germs. Or something. Stop using Nexus Mod Manager and start using Mod Organizer. It doesn't put the mods into your Skyrim installation. It keeps them outside in a virtual directory instead. It means that your Skyrim stays as fresh and as clean as when you installed it. And it won't get all boogered up by adding and removing mods. Your load order and papyrus logs really, really need to be posted. If you don't post them nobody can even guess what the problem is. Well, they could guess, but it's highly doubtful they'd be very accurate.
gvman3670 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I went and looked at your other thread. You need to pare down the mod list a LOT. Many of those mods listed there are pains in the ass. Too many mods with scripts in them that change game behaviors/operations is bad. Very bad. You need to keep those to a minimum. You can add all the graphical, mesh and texture things you want. But scripts, especially lots of mods containing scripts, will eventually cause you issues (as you've noticed). You can use scripted mods, but use them sparingly and test them to see if multiple scripts can play nicely together. To get a papyrus log you need to go to where your "Skyrim.ini" file is located, open it up so you can read/edit it, then make sure the following lines are in there. [Papyrus] fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0 bEnableLogging=1 bEnableTrace=1 bLoadDebugInformation=1 If those are there but have 0s instead of 1s change them 1s and save it. If not there simply copy these and paste them in then save it. Then run the game and let it crash. Maybe even do it a second time. Then look for your logs, copy and paste them here (in spoiler tags).
B0ss plz Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 I can't even do a simple spoiler! Anyway, it won't let me put up the papyrus document, it won't let me. So I don't know right now.
Nshell Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 a spoiler its simple, type this [_spoiler] here between the two spoilers you add all text you need to hide so your post is easy to read [_/spoiler] do the same as my example above, just del the (_) underscore symbol before _spoiler in the example I gave you. and it will look like this: here between the two spoilers you add all text you need to hide so your post is easy to read
B0ss plz Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 I have no idea why but I can't do it. Stuff it!!! There are two papyrus logs in my files; one is a huge file containing all these words and errors, and one is pretty short that looks like it uses stats.
dje34 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 My advice : learn to use MO, BOSS and TESVEdit and start from scratch.
B0ss plz Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 When you mean start from scratch as in un-install my Skyrim and delete my data file from it and re-install it again?
dje34 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Yep, sometimes it's the only solution. But before doing it, learn to use MO, BOSS and TESVEdit so you will never have to reinstall Skyrim again and you will encounter much less problems ! Well, that's only MY advice, maybe some people here have another solution.
gvman3670 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I have no idea why but I can't do it. Stuff it!!! There are two papyrus logs in my files; one is a huge file containing all these words and errors, and one is pretty short that looks like it uses stats. You can't type in front of what you want to hide and [ /spoiler] after it? Seriously? Come on, man. I know better. Just quote someone that has a spoiler in their message and you'll see the spoiler tags and how they work in the reply box. Then just go to your papyrus log, right click and pick "select all", right click and "copy" then come to the reply box here and right click/paste. That's it. That's all there is to it.
B0ss plz Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 Thanks guys for the help, I'm pretty sure that this should be my last post about this I'll try the spoiler in a few hours and test it out, thanks again guys.
