Hey. Im wanting to hear from some ENB users about their experience, recommended ENBs, ect. Ive read some and basically I know that you'll take a performance hit for sure but how much seems to be disputed. I know of ENBoost and ive read a lot of conflicting reports as to whether an ENB can be ran on a system like mine.

So i guess id better explain my setup. I could post my EXACT specs if someone wants them but for now im just gonna give a performance idea.

700$ range AMD laptop with integrated graphics, not super highend but not bad. I run Skyrim with either the next to the highest or highest pref. settings. I run around 70-100 choice mods, among them all of the Skyrim HD 1.5 LITE texture packs, a better LOD, W.A.T.E.R., and probably 5-7 mods involving scripting, a couple rather heavy. Now with all this, i run at (last time i checked), around 25 fps which, ik, 60 is awesome but im managing fine, very playable. SO. Would running an ENB with boost, and the skyrim startup memory fix added by the new SKSE version kill me? if so is there any other recommendations?

im shady on installing an ENB cause im unsure how easily it can be completely uninstalled. im using MO. I will be doing some performance testing here shortly to see where and how bad i crash. Looking forward to some ideas/advice!!!

I'm in the same situation and when I've tried ENBs I would dip to around 10fps outdoors. It could turn, quite literally, into a slide show in some areas.

There are some performance fixes available, though....

And you can run this app to further optimize textures for a frames boost... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12801/?

And I am running I Can't Believe It's NOT an ENB... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48554/?

ICBIN ENB requires a few other mods, like Climates of Tamriel, Enhanced Lighting Effects and Imaginator. But in the end it looks pretty darned good with no performance loss (I gained a little bit actually) and you get in-game, on the fly adjustments through Imaginator. I've found the in-game adjustments handy for screenshots and quick adjustments in dark areas, etc.

I am thinking you should be able to make your game look pretty good, actually better anyway, and STILL see a performance increase.

Okay, so ive looked at all those and i think im going to try most/all of them besides the 4th, regarding the vanilla textures. yes, im sure im still running some of them, but im gonna leave it out for now. The rest is GOLDEN. Im posting some screens ive taken lately as a before and ill post some more again as laters. Note, that the last 2 (those two for sure, maybe the last three), are running after i added a few things.

Im still not sure yet about the ICBINEnb. :/ im okay with the technical stuff but doesnt mean i like to get too involved lol. DEPENDING on how much the tweaks im going to do help, we'll see :)

Thanks for replying im already really excited about how much this will help. particularly the one about the interior fog. lately its all looked really washed out and im 99% certain its cause what this fixes!! time to make a safe install profile through MO first, then to some testing. Huzzah!!

(PS, sorry the screens are posted as DL attachments, idk how to post them directly to the post:/ bhf brhgbfuiiva, brg)

To be honest I don't know anything about onboard GPUs & ENBs. Just have a try (I guess with the InjektorVersion).

ENB uninstalling is extremly easy: Just delete the files you'd copied into the Skyrim.exe folder.

From the install.txt

Extract files from folder WrapperVersion or InjectorVersion to your game folder.
If you wish to use injector version as workaround for various third party software and for laptops, run ENBInjector.exe before starting the game.
WARNING! Don't run manually enbhost.exe, it will be automatically started if memory manager activated in enblocal.ini.

About ENB boost in general, you can download the newer files on enbdev.com without activating the graphics.

That will free your memory: less lagging for sure and maybe(!) some fps gain, depending on the bottleneck of your system.

You could back up your old inis and have a try with EWIs High SkyrimPrefs and inis, medium option, too.

Linking images: upload it on a file hoster like imgur and use the picture icon while writing or the BBC code.

If you can only manage 25fps in vanilla game, lower your shadow settings (first thing you should change before any others for more performance), it's handled by CPU instead of GPU and it requires a lot of CPU power, generally mobile AMD processors are significant weaker than Intel's (to give you some ideas, the latest AMD A10-5750M, a mobile quad core processor is about as powerful as a low end second generation mobile i3), anyway you should see a big fps improvement turning down your shadows.

Regarding ENB, you may only be limited to a few performance friendly ones, even then you probably still need to turn off or tweak some settings. Since I have a laptop at hand also running skyrim, I can tell you a few I've tried that won't completely destroy your performance:

1. RealLike ENB: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22056/?    Looks pretty and doesn't hurt your fps too much, using v0113 dll(doesn't support ENBoost) may give you higher fps than the latest v02.xxx dll. You can further turn off "detailed shadow" in ENB GUI(if you are using the latest v0.2xx dll, press shift+enter in game) or in your enbseries.ini(if you are using v0113 dll).

2. Stakato ENB: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15425     Based on older dll binaries, which means it doesn't support ENBoost, but it performs quite well for low end systems.

3.skylight ENB: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48730  The heaviest among these but it looks great and utilizes the latest v25xx dll.

And finally the famous "I can't believe it's NOT an ENB", it's not a ENB, but it's a sweetFX preset, haven't tried myself as I don't game much on my laptop anymore, but it's reported to be extremely fps-friendly: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48554/?  Give this a shot if all other ENB fail to deliver playable fps.

Yeaa i just installed 1 2 3 and 5 from the list that gv provided and its already helped i think. at any rate im happy with default so far. tired of looking at ENBs atm and trying to decide so ill hesitate for now rather than spend more time thinking about it lol. but i DO like the looks of RealLike ENB but doesnt support ENBoost which is something im definitely looking for since it helps a lot. for any other suggestions, im going to ask for something as life-like/photo realistic as possible yet isnt going to melt my pc lol.

Thanks for all the replies!!!

p.s.

I wonder if people like Ashal or Fore ever ask for help/ideas O.o

The vanilla reduced textures helps a LOT. When you're on a smaller screen going for even 2K textures is unnecessary because you can't visually distinguish between them and 1K textures (even 512 textures in some cases). So you may as well increase performance if the visuals still look the same. I know that on my 15" screen (1366X768 res) there's absolutely no way to take any advantage of higher than 1k textures. They just won't show up even if they're rendered.

The texture optimizer also generates mipmaps when applicable, as well as reduces or optimizers textures to your choice of sizes.

The real problem with integrated graphics is how the graphics are processed by the CPU and not by a seperate processor (like video cards have). So say you have a 2.4 processor. You're playing Skyrim and the graphics are taking up 1.5 gig of that 2.4 processor. What's left for processing shadows, NPC movements, scripts and combat? Not much. :P My CPU is running at 2.53ghz and my system tells me I have 1536mhz available for video.....but that is deducted from the 2500mhz the CPU can handle.

If you turn off all unnecessary background services and programs you can free up more processor for the game as well. It's what a program like Razer Game Booster does, although you can manually set your machine up for max performance.

ah, didnt consider that about the texture sizes!! and the rest is solid advice that i knew from previous experience. i run Advanced System Care by IObit and run with Turbo Boost (and optimize regularly of course) and its amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. even over Razer. my personal opinion anyway, ive never actually tested which is better
