Playing in 3rd Person Mode

If I wanted to play exclusively in 3rd person mode, what would you guys recommend? I've been doing a little research on 3rd person cameras, and I haven't been super impressed with what I've seen. I did see the Customizable Camera ( http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37347/? ), but before I work on building a good preset I wanted to see if I would basically be reinventing the wheel (as in if there was a camera mod that already "fixed" 3rd person modes for combat)?

Customizable Camera is the only mod that lets you make the camera whatever you want.

There used to be another 3rd Person camera mod but it was either integrated into Customizable Camera or deleted altogether.

Aside from that I would recommend some animation mods, FNIS required of course.

Pretty Combat Idles and Pretty Female Idles are pretty great.

There's also a New Animation for Magic Casting which makes magic cool.

Those are the ones I use, anyway.

Immersive First Person View is way cooler. ;)

I know, I know. Not helping. :D But 3rd person kinda' sucks for anything besides looking at your armor.

Some people really enjoy watching their character do things instead of disembodied limbs doing so :P

I play hybrid. Sometimes I'm 1st person sometimes in 3rd. It's kind of situational.

I think so too; even with mods Skyrim is just not really meant to be played in third-person, not like it's stopping though as it's a generally preference. I have a few other mods installed, such as the TPC (I think that's the name) addon for Custom Camera that allows you to change your camera in-game without always having to go into the MC menu.

Go into 1st person if you need to snipe, pick up specific items, deal with a trap, or drag, say, a dead body out of sight.

Go into 3rd person if you're melee fighting.

^That, those words.

Third person is just 'vanity camera' meant not to play, but to see your armor. But skyrim is not preciselly a tough game unless you mod it in that way, you can perfectly play 3rd person, specially if you are playing basically because pr0n, ass jiggle, and all that stuff. So yeah, except for grabbing stuff or sorting some traps, and also ranged (totally broken with Customizable Camera, that is an essential mod for 3rd personing), go 3rd if you want. There are great animation packs out there too.

I play w/ AutoPV and only use 1st person for shooting arrows.  Kinda hard to do in 3rd person with no crosshair.

Is Immersive 1st person view safe? I heard it wasn't that fixed yet/caused crashes w/ animations and stuff like that.  Probably one of the only reasons not using it.

Never tried it but I hear it's safe.

I would recommend the Joy of Perspective mod:

Just was using Immersive FP and it screwed up the xp32 skeleton, so I'll take a look at this one.

Yeah it'll get wonky with xp32's skeleton.

Luckily Joy of Perspective works wonders with xp32.

If I may, I recommend you use the version of his skeleton hosted at this site.

It's compatible with a lot more things and contains certain fixes.

So are only a few SexLab animations compatible in first person?

I tried it out. It feels nice, but I don't think there's anyway I'd like to keep it. My character is sneaky with her bow.

I don't know much on the way of SexLab, I don't really use it.

The Skeleton is pretty useful, it's basically xp32's but.. well, extended.

As far as Joy of Perspective it's really up to you.

Most of these things barely affect gameplay, it's all aesthetics.

I never really played SKyrim in 3rd personn, solely because i hated how the character is all the way to left on the screen :D. But now thanks to all the awesome mods like customizable camera and better aiming and stuff that have been made i've started to play in 3rd person more and more, still i usually go to first person whenever i get into fight, it just is muscle memory :D. Exploration and hanging in towns i always play in 3rd person just because i want to see my characters tattoos and armors/clothes

I only ever play Skyrim in 1st person when action requires it. (IE) Shooting a bow as I am far more accurate in First person or to pickup objects and such. Otherwise, I have FOV Set at 80-90 and I only play in 3rd person view. Never really needed a camera mod for this as I just zoom out with the mouse wheel.

I am assuming you were aware of this capability. It's already built into the game.

I always use the XPMS skeleton and haven't noticed any issues with IFPV at all. What kind of problems have other people had?

It broke my skeleton.  I haven't tried it after converting to the XP skeleton here on LL.

AutoPV instantly switches you from 3rd person when you're exploring, to 1st person when you draw a weapon.  And then back to 3rd person when you sheathe it.  I like it a lot.

I use first person for "dangerous" areas, such as dungeons, and fighting, and use third person for travelling, questing (when inside holds), and exploring.

I use 3rd person exclusively, even with bows. The 1st person view always looks like you have your hands in front of your face. Customizable Camera works well and makes it easy to change depending on character height and such.

Customizable camera but also has a great disadvantage, is needed for this mod SKSE, SkyUI and MCM!

but these mods I would not use SKSE has already wrecked my entire game, because I use very old mods that are not compatible.

I need a camera mod to install without additional mods.
