nyaalich Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 This comes from my personal ignorance about which texture does what. 1st person view: I've got BoG Cali installed via FOMM (with Kendo2's lovely Cali upperbody copy/pasted in). I roam the Wasteland killing shit all over the place. Should I see perfectly manicured nails when I raise my weapon? Hell no I shouldn't. I don't care about anyone else's nails, nor do I care about how mine look in 3rd person (tfc or not). Suggestion? Do I just delete some file(s), hope that the BSA's regular texture kicks in, and remember to delete them again if I have to reactivate BoG for some reason? If so, which one(s)? Or do I <something else>? It's funny the little things that piss people off.
Victoria K. Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 It's easier to do it than to explain it. Have you at least in 3rd person the hands you like? If yes, make a copy of the femalerighthand.nif, rename the copy femalerighthand1st.nif and put it into the folder (meshes\characters\_male), overwrite. Repeat the same with femalelefthandpipboyglove.nif, make a copy and rename it femalelefthandpipboyglove1st.nif and put it into the folder. You didn't provided the useful info, if you are playing a custom race or in case you don't have the 3rd person hands you like, if you have at least the right mesh (the one you like) but not the textures. If you want send me a pm, it's a very little issue and really it takes one minute to solve. I imagine it's not very pleasant to see the wrong hands in 1st person.

You care about how your floating arm-attached-to-a-camera looks when holding your Redius/PipBoy/Weapon, but not how it looks in third person? Whaaaaaa...I could see if you also wanted to remove it from the third person view as well, say, unmanicured hands all around. But it boggles my mind why it would bother you one, way, and not the other.If your response is "well, I play mostly in first, and thus care about it the most" then um... why download a female body replacer at all? Do you go around and strip every single no-name/named NPC? Do you really think anyone would have manicured hands in Fallout times or even care about spending the time to do ones nails, as there is murder around every corner? I .. I .. When I talk to people, I don't really see their nails. But when I raise certain guns in first person, the long, shiny nails are quite visible. It's distracting. Perhaps it is because I am not used to it. But that is why I care about first and not third.Some game elements that are immersion-breaking or anti-lore deal-breakers for some don't bother others at all. Why leave in 3rd party manicures? If its working, don't break it. If I can't see it, ignore it. By uninstalling/modifying some textures outside of FOMM once before, FOMM would not allow me to launch the game, and I had to start from scratch. This is what I was trying to avoid. Are manicures in NV realistic? No, although I can accept people on The Strip having them. Are manicuring tools and polishes readily available? Well, there is something like a spa at the Ultra Luxe. Thus, there's probably some stuff left over. Do I really care? No, because I don't see their nails.I use Sexout (oh heavens! A sexual deviant!), and it automatically installs a body replacer. Since that happened, I figured that I should pick one that seems more realistic/as similar as I can get to my own body (spoiler for anyone who hasn't picked up on it yet: I'm a chick. The secret's out.) since I do see my character in 3rd person and naked at times.What I do in my game is my own business, unless I am testing something and giving a bug report or providing information for troubleshooting. As that this is an adult site, I don't believe that speculating what adult activities one performs in game is called for much less doing so in a condescending tone. This site is full of fetishes. Some appeal to me. Some do not at all, but I do not complain nor patronize to posts whose game-related sexual content I find unusual if not offensive.
