pros and cons of various bodies

I've always used cbbe when I played skyrim, the main reason is because before I chose what body to use I looked at what seemed to be the body type with the most compatible mods and (at the time) the most endorsements/downloads on the nexus (for much the same reason I use a HGEC based body in oblivion and type 3 in new vegas). Every now and then I've considered changing my body (I used UNPB for a little while and for the briefest amount of time i used adec and if zggb had more mods for it I would be using that) but doing so is kind of a hassle once you're well entrenched in the body type it can be hard to change. What I'm wondering is what are the pros and Cons of the different types of bodies: UNPB, CBBE, Sevenbase, ADEC, etc. I want to know if it's all purely cosmetic (cbbe has larger breasts and butts, unpb is truer to life, adec is...adec, sevenbase looks pretty good overall) or if theres something else. I'm not sure if we have a page dedicated to this or not (if we do I'm sorry mods) but I really want to know what makes each one of the major bodies great.

TL;DR

Why is the body you use great?

i only use the regular bodies, never changed them, and dont intend to. i like the realism they tried to give the game, i dont like fat chicks, i dont like lolli-chicks, i fucking hate xxxxxxl-boob-chicks, im fine with what the game gave me.

if i want porn i watch a porn, and dont play skyrim, you know...

The only real answer:

Outfit Studio.

Make whatever body and clothes you want with it. Everybody's got different tastes.

Now if only these potential debate threads would stop xD

Ideally I'd like to use a few different bodies at random, since I think variety really makes things much more enjoyable. Anywhere from the slender to the curvy to the small to the large, it makes skyrim look a lot more interesting for me. But because that's usually pretty complicated, I tend to just stick with cbbe and use body slide/outfit studio to get my variety.

Though like Ragna, I like the vanilla bodies a ton already, I think they were really well done. I just feel like there isn't enough variety between them.

The Pro`s is there`s a bunch of them one will surely catch your eye.

The Con`s is there`s a bunch of them each one with a huge flaw that will be pointed out in future endless best body mod threads.

All kidding aside some are better if your going to play Barbie`s and take screen shots and there all good if your going to just slap on the

old armor and kill shit.

Just go with what pleases your eye.

You're going to get as many answers as there are stars in the sky. In the end it all comes down to preference and no two people really prefer the same thing. However, i would highly recommend not chasing the latest fad body just because it happens to be popular on nexus at the time. There seems to be a new body type every few months that everyone claims is going to replace all others and in the end the only two that have stood the test of time are UNP (along with it's variants) and CBBE. And for very good reason those two have done so well, they both looks amazing, they are both stable, both easy to apply (well CBBE has a fo-mod installer i loath but that's just me), and both have near an equal amount of armors to choose from. In fact there are mods now that allow your character to switch body types ingame according to what armor you're wearing, as well as adjust your followers body type ingame. I would just stick to your UNP body, it's a solid choice with good armor selections.

Now to answer the second part of your question i use a custom UNP. The base was a standard UNP slim where i replaced the skeleton and textures with parts from several other mods until i found a combination i was happy with. I used CBBE for the longest time until i switched mod managers from NMM to MO and found out that calientes CBBE mod requires a nexus based fo-mod installer to work properly, basically forcing the mod users to lick nexus's boots just for the privilege of using their mod of which i took offense and swore off my favorite body mod for one that isn't so........whats the word.....restrictive. Now i am aware that there is a fo-mod bypass installer for MO but that's not the point, a good mod author should never build something that forces the end user to use only one mod manager exclusively, anyone who thinks that highly of themselves is someone i'd rather not deal with.

Anyways, after some serious research i found a combination of UNP features that copied the CBBE look i loved so much without any of the fo-mod bullcrap and i haven't looked back since.

First of all, I guess most of what I'm hearing is that the conclusion I'd come to already was accurate: body mods are all about what you prefer, my immediate impulse to go for one of the most widely supported mods was a good choice. The reason I asked is I remember reading a thread bragging about how I believe it was unpb and sevenbase were superior body meshes due to having a higher polygon count or looking smother or something. Personally I'm fairly satisfied with cbbe (I think I might have forgotten to mention what my current body mod was, sorry core) as I rather like the manga body look and its armors.

I'm a faithful UNPB user. Those bodies have lovely hips.  The Sevenbase body has fantastic legs, but I hate that bizarre twirling idle animation it uses. I like UNPB 'cause it's well-supported, it's curvier than UNP, and it looks a little more natural to me than CBBE.

Of course, every body type has its advantages, and personal taste can be very subjective, so it's good to test 'em all out. (But I must admit, I honestly can't think of a single thing CBBE has over UNPB, but that's just me. If that's your thing, that's totally cool.  :P )

I don't really think you can call UNPB "curvier" than UNP as the only difference between the two is the breast size/shape.

...please don't start another thread like this, we were just done with the other one.

Threads like these pop up atleast once every 2-4 weeks and it always ends in the same pointless arguments.

Well yeah, I was using "curvy" synonymously with "busty," which would probably have been a better word. Damn vocabulary...

I prefer the body shape and smaller boobs your character has there. I find the big, cartoonish, brood-mother boobs really unattractive, even on a Skyrim character. Nice work on that, Core.

idk i love how fluid dreamgirl moves goes, but the lack of clothes is impressive, and sometimes i need seen some meat and i use cbbe wich looks like manga lol, loving mod organize because of that, i can use both bodies with dif mods.

What I think is, the only things you can call a pro or a con are 1. polygon count, as an objective measure of quality, and 2. outfit support. The rest is all up to taste, and you can't get pros and cons out of an opinion.

Save it, Nancy. Put that blush on your character!

So is that a base UNP mesh? At what weight on the slider? I'm currently using an "experimental" base UNP body with TBBP and have it at 20%. So it looks quite similar to yours, but the boobs ride a little higher because of skeleton differences (and the height is noticeable when going from clothed to nude).

so on the topic of polygon count how do the different meshes  compare?

I took the UNP main base version 2.7, added a custom skeleton with BBP (done use it though) realistic ragdoll (don't use that either) and well placed weapons and quivers, then i replaced the skin textures with those from Halo's UNPCM smooth texture options. The rest of the character creation was done using the sliders that come with Racemenu.

This is a great source for just about every custom skeleton replacer you could ever want--->  http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16712/?

And here's halos site ------>http://mod.dysintropi.me/

I have HaloFarm's site in my favorites list. ;)

I have the UNPCM body here in a zip. But it doesn't have (T)BBP (and I'm not sure how to add it myself) plus there is next to nothing available for it in the way of clothing or armor. But the body looks incredible from screenshots. I love the healthy bottom and perky titties look it has. Sweetness.
