Grey Cloud Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I just exported this head from RM. In Nifskope it looks like this: Obviously missing BSLightingShaderProperty but why and what do I do to rectify the situation? The head is just a regular Nord head.
traison Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago (edited) My understanding is that that stems from a node transform, probably in the skeleton or the head mesh. Locate and remove the transform before exporting. If the weightpainting is still there in the exported mesh, you could presumably also move the neck node back down in something like Blender and perhaps even NifSkope. Edit: transforms in this case specifically meaning translations. And for those not familiar with 3D engine terminology, translations are X, Y and Z axis shifts (or movements), not rotations. traison Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) Just as an example. Edit: Useless image removed. Answer is below. Edited 17 hours ago by traison
traison Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Note that I have not tried any of this. Imo it would be a bad idea to remove translations like this, it's probably going to break something in the game. Like maybe your head sinks into your characters chest, but you can now export it successfully. So keep a backup, and don't give up even if editing the head mesh doesn't work; like I said previously maybe the skeleton has something similar. Personally I'd attempt to do this in Blender after exporting.

I found a PDF guide (by Kallilies I think) and it seemed to imply that this is a glitch that happens now and again. The guide said just re-export which I did and it exported correctly. 😎 My next problem is where is the 'HeadPart' window in the CK? Another question. If I load, e.g., a follower esp into the CK do I need to also tick Skyrim.esm etc or do they load automatically?

What's the percentage of success here? 1 in 10? 1 in 100? 27 minutes ago, Grey Cloud said: The guide said just re-export which I did and it exported correctly. I assume you did something else than just: showracemenu -> Sculpt -> F5 Export Head, or did something between a failed and a successful attempt.

Beards, eyebrows, hair etc. that's all headparts. 43 minutes ago, Grey Cloud said: If I load, e.g., a follower esp into the CK do I need to also tick Skyrim.esm etc or do they load automatically? You wouldn't believe how long I was looking for it. 2 hours ago, traison said: Dependencies load automatically. That's what my eyes were telling me but so many guides are manually ticking the masters that I was beginning to doubt.
