mrph Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Got it, thanks. I'll take a look at mine. I probably need to reset everything and reinstall the mod. Too much happened on one save, so the bug probably got introduced somewhere along the way. 1

Yes, it can happen in most cases where you eventually switch between mod versions not going up but for example trying to install a lower version (like from 448 to 445 or similar) or a different branch completely that is pretty older, like before 442 (I don't know if this is your case). Try reinstalling from scratch and also, eventually, using the "Uninstall Kinky World" feature as described in the mini-guide in the main post. I hope it helps 1
mrph Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Listen, if it's not too late for 450 and it's not too difficult, you could add the "Walk Home" or "Invite Over" interaction to the specified Sim. The specified Sim needs to invite the active Sim to their home. And place this interaction in "Friendly Interactions." Sometimes this simple action is sorely missing from the game.

"Invite over" is already available inside the Friendly bucket from the base game, and in my playthrough is generally never missing! After starting a conversation, with a very little STC and LTR level required, the option appears when you are outside your homelot, with another Sim. If you are on your homelot, the option appears as "Invite inside". This shouldn't be missing with a default install! I'll eventually think about this, but it appears in being a conflict as well!
mrph Posted May 23 Posted May 23 (edited) No, I mean the opposite. Invite a Sim over to your house, not just to yours. Edited May 23 by mrph
mrph Posted May 23 Posted May 23 (edited) Apparently the translator is failing. I mean the reverse interaction. Invite a Sim not to your house, but have them invite you to theirs. Edited May 23 by mrph

Oooh, now I get the request: you want to ask to a target Sim if the active Sim can be invited to their home. I'll see what I can do for this Right now there's a lot of work to already do on 450. That's why I updated them in the same way in RU language, as well as translate new lines. Edited May 23 by anton557 1

In some cases, and even more on 450, some english strings have been updated as well for clarity. I'll share the STBL/package file as soon as I can
Gentlelovely Posted May 24 Posted May 24 15 hours ago, BiterBit said: To be completely honest, sadomachist, BDSM and feeling pain during sex is an actual Kink, and it's ok to have an actual trait in Kinky World for that. I just don't understand how this should be related to non consensual violence and rape. We are talking about a logic in the mod where Sims with this trait enjoys "that" as the only way of validating this trait. I know for sure people with the sado kink in real life and I don't think they would feel represented by this. Is being a sado accepting random violence of that level? That you have to "live" or have a romance with, an actual violent person? Beside from that I could agree about the fact that who designed this in the first place almost only added that as a characteristic for masochists. Like: no moodlet for rough stages, no moodlets for spanking (now added), no dedicated STBL for the after sex to make the traits more immersive. They just thought "let me use "r*pe" and to be honest it's sad to me looking at those scenes. I have yet to understand how to concile this honestly. But I generally don't like how it is right now. That the only way to enjoy being sado is that one. As per the "disciplinary" spank, I might somehow agree, that who enables the option wants to live in a world where it's "allowed". But there should still be a consequence to that in my opinion. EDIT: I would also like to point out that, beside negative LTR effects I'm introducing, basic things (that I really don't like) are still the same, like: - "the amount of rapes that give a reward a masochist" - IsEnjoying(victim) - +Fun e +STArousal - PostWooHoo, ReportAction, negative creampies, dialogs etc are still skipped and/or applied as per the legacy code - positive outcomes after woohooing There are many other bonuses related, instead, to consensual behavior that are still present and could be ehnanced more to explicitely support consensual "rough" dynamics, like: - BDSM/Rough animations/stages - +Fun during BDSM non-rape stages - AskToSpank that gives +Fun and +Arousal and proper STBL notification - BloodyVagina from Rough Sex - Other things that may be introduced. And I think I'm going to enhance those, because I honestly think that who has a masochist Kinky would generally look for this in a game to feel represented, instead of looking for rapist to rape them. EDIT 2: I'm currently creating new consensual moodlets and behaviors for Masochist, that for all these years have been only rewarded in relation to rape. Good Spank moodlet will only also be reserved to Masochists, because Submissive and Slut will have their own buffs in 450. EDIT 3: This actually makes sense now for people who play as masochists: With "good spank" moodlet added as well. Now it's a proper trait that doesn't rely on rape and I'm actually enhancing this even more. 18 hours ago, spauldo said: I'm talking about sadomasochism (there's an English Wikipedia article on it, I don't know the Italian term and I don't trust machine translation for this kind of thing). Basically, people that enjoy inflicting or receiving pain. It's sometimes related to dominant/submissive play, but not always. The "sadist" is the person who enjoys inflicting pain, and the "masochist" is the person who enjoys receiving pain. It's also not just about sex, although of course that's what KW focuses on. (Sorry if all that is obvious, but different cultures have different ideas about this kind of thing.) I worry that a negative relationship hit for all observers will have a negative effect on gameplay for people who play out those kinds of fantasies. If it's an S&M situation, the negative relationship hit isn't horribly realistic - observers with the sadist or masochist traits wouldn't see a problem with it, nor would mean spirited or evil sims. Close friends might not as well - presumably they're aware of the couple's tendencies. To do it right, the game has to be able to tell if it's people doing consensual S&M or not and then figure out how each individual observing it would react based on their personality. It'd be nice if someone that's into S&M would put in their opinion of how it should work - it's very much not my thing so I can't go into any specifics. I'm more of the poly, futa, and "whoops, how'd I just have a fairy baby?" kind of player. Regarding the disciplinary spanking: I don't think a negative relationship hit for observers makes sense there. The only observers that should maybe get it are friends of the student getting spanked. If the player has enabled spanking, then their Sims world is one where spanking is practiced in schools. Gonna out myself here, lol. Sorry for the word tsunami below, just wanted to add my two cents to the discussion. Can confirm as a person that's part of the BDSM community and is also a maso sub, I don't feel represented by KW depicting maso sims as enjoying pain/rape from random violent people. I've been in the lifestyle for quite a while, and this has never been how it's worked that I've seen. There's exceptions to every rule of course, but generally speaking, it's not a thing in my experience. Speaking from the POV of a maso/sub, I've only ever accepted pain, dominance, fondling not verbally asked for before hand because of previous boundary discussions, and even undressing while sleeping from a trusted Dom/Master (which has always been a boyfriend I met in the BDSM world in my case) and before anything happens, there's a discussions of hard limits (Non-negotiable boundary of a sexual act or behavior) soft limit (negotiable sexual act or behavior) safe words, aftercare and acceptable behaviors between each other. I've participated in both short scenes and 24/7 lifetime power exchanges. Rules apply to both scenarios. I agree with grope and undressing by a random person being put in violent/rape categories, but I do think fondling and consensual undressing should be positive, or even maybe even have a toggle for it since everyone's limits are different. For me, there's a preening bliss for fondling and undressing with a trusted Dom that I wouldn't want my sim to miss out on, it's part of the lifestyle in my experience. Anyway, in BDSM, after limits are discussed, they don't really get brought up again as long as each party is following the set parameters or neither party has new standards, so when I play with KW, if my sub sim that's in a committed relationship or even a love interest with a Dom/Master, is sleeping, and her Dom/Master has sex with her without asking, it wouldn't come to my mind that this would be rape or a negative interaction for her as this would be well within the acceptable parameters of the sub/Dom dynamic. I've personally had this as an acceptable behavior with a trusted Dom and like this aspect of it, so for my sim that's a maso/sub, I'd be thrilled to see them have some kind of positive response when it happens, like pride/happiness in satisfying the needs of her Dom even while sleeping and/or enjoying sleepy time loving from a Master 🤭that's how I would personally feel. But if this same situation happened with someone random, someone I have not discussed this with before hand, it would be rape or a negative interaction and I wouldn't want my sim to respond positively. Same for the spanking, touching or violent interactions. All pain is not created equal, and I don't know any maso that likes to be raped or beaten on by randoms, even slaves have boundaries. Maso, sub, slave, whatever we are, we've all set up consensual and safe ways to get what we need, it's what's drilled into your head when you join a BDSM community. If he's not your Dom or Master, if you did not discuss limits/safety and established consent before hand, he doesn't put his hands on you, period. I honestly didn't wanna be "that girl" and complain about that aspect in KW through the years 😅 and I doubted anybody would want to fix it, but it's always bothered me that masochism was linked to random rapists or violent people. BDSM already has a bad rep and things like this don't help, so I'm super hype that you're willing to unravel it from that connotation. I do have spanking enabled and am very happy to have it in game as I've lived in a situation with domestic discipline and loved it. Getting spanked consensually can spawn different feelings depending on the reason why. If a sub's done something wrong, they'd be more upset about disappointing their Dom than about being spanked but having a sore bottom would also be a downside they'd not really enjoy, and on the flip side of that punishment, for a Dom they'd be feeling disappointed in their sub for having to get a spanking but also feeling satisfied that they did their duty as a Master or Dom. However, if a sub is getting spanked because they like it, both sub and Dom like it, or because their Dom wants to for their own sexual gratification, then the sub would feel pleasure from the act or happiness at satisfying their if Dom if they're not into pain, since not all subs are maso. I'm not sure if this is what you mean by consequences for spanking, but this is what I know of the downsides/consequences personally. A lot of BDSM stuff is tied into the emotional aspect more than anything imo. Which is why a sub/maso wouldn't feel the same way receiving pain from a trusted Master vs some random rapist on the street. We're not just seeking out pain from wherever we can get it, there's layers to this 😂 @spauldo I agree that those around should be able to tell if the acts are consensual, as having relationship impacts turn negative over a dynamic my sim enjoys and consents to would make it hard to play as a masochistic sub sim but sims reacting negatively would also incorporate realism, which I'm a big fan of. The real world is exactly like this. BDSM has a bad rep because to the outside looking in, it looks shady as hell, and without knowing the inner workings or what a person on the receiving end gets out of it, what can you expect? I've delt with this perception for Idk how many years, and as tiring/annoying as it can be, I expect, even in the year 2026 lol. When I'm in a 24/7 power exchange dynamic, those that know of my proclivities accept the way my relationship functions even though out of context could look shady, but those that don't know would have some issues with it until I get a chance to explain what's really going on, so sims walking in on discipline or a pain session having a negative impact from witnessing the situation makes sense, but perhaps an added interaction that will clear up that negative impression would help. Like a "explain this was consensual" interaction that you can use on sims that saw the scene to reverse the negative feelings they may have about it. "And I think I'm going to enhance those, because I honestly think that who has a masochist Kinky would generally look for this in a game to feel represented, instead of looking for rapist to rape them." <---------- YES to this! A thousand times yes! Please and thank you!! I am cryyyyyinngggg with happiness from all these changes you're making to the BDSM KW aspect😭you don't know how long I've wanted these things changed. 1

Sounds good to me. I didn't have a problem with BiterBit's changes, I only wanted someone who actually uses that part of the mod to chime in just in case the changes would trample on anyone's gameplay. If you're happy with the changes, then I have no further objections. I see it as kind of like the old, "First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out" thing. There's parts of the mod that I enjoy that others don't, and I wouldn't want those to go away. 1

I'm the same way so I appreciate you pumping the brakes to think about other people. It's one of the reasons I keep popping up with an idea or opinion about KW aspects I really love, just to give a different perspective on subjects that aren't as black and white as they seem. Luckily BiterBit's is willing to change things based on feedback. I think a lot of trampling on the enjoyment of others could be avoided with the use of toggles in most cases. Everyone's enjoyment is so different, even if two people are into the same thing, so having the option to turn something off is great. 1

I really thank you for this kind of detailed explanation, and of course, for speaking out. I'm actually glad to read this from someone that has lived (or lives) a Kink like that. It's for the reason you listed that I really wanted to change the behavior in Kinky World. This is the reason why I created about 3 new moodlets, soon strings as well, so that Masochists, Subs and Dominants are going to provide a different gameplay now for everyone who feels represented by these traits. About consent: I wanted them to feel represented, but not with actions that today are represented by mean or violent actions intended as ugly punishement. I didn't get in the mod "consent" because I wanted to be "a saint": I play with the most absurd Kinky World settings myself and I'm into this forum myself. I just get affectionate to my Sims and can't really stand any free violence. I'm usually the kind of guy who doesn't react violently to NPCs in games like Skyrim, RDR, GTA because of feeling sorry 😂 Beside that, not everyone plays like that and the mod tries to includes everyone. I wanted a difference between things "agreed" by Sims and things that weren't, like e.g. evil actions like in the base game (or reality?). This was already present in code, but unified under a one only voice that I got into 2 different ones (spanking). Creating a new interaction like "explain it was consensual" could be done (even if compared to the rest it requires a lot of added work on pulse, reactions, gating for who is clickable for it etc.), but this way you can already "live" in a reality where no one judges you (no Sim does) because they know it's consensual and that it's a Kink... Like I believe it should be. Also: a punishment manager can be implemented as well, for sub/dom, like an exclusive interaction that allows direct spanking (without asking) if a proper level of satisfaction/unsatisfaction is reached. Or, for example, allowing undressing during sleep for Sims you already asked for that. It's easily doable! Different topic about if a Sim starts evily spanking another Sim, or their son/daughter, in front of anyone. I never believed in violence and receiving it myself I know for sure it didn't surely help me about becoming better, but the opposite, for fears, self esteem and such, and I personally hate that something like that could be interpreted as "ordinary". I don't know if any of you ever saw somebody beating their offspring up or spanking them in public, but everytime I saw that, with them crying like crazy in sadness and disappointment, it was really bad. I never had a good memory of it, and clearly not on my self. I don't have good memories in general. 5 hours ago, spauldo said: I see it as kind of like the old, "First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out" thing. And this is the reason why I really don't want to be the person who keeps sharing versions where a punishment against teens or schools or against someones as violence isn't seen as violence. I just don't want to cover up violence. That's it. You can still use "disciplinary spanking" but that is going to generate a negative reaction from the victim and from who sees you, that is coherent to what would happen if in a modern school you'd start spanking people in a class. I know it's a drastic change but I can't help myself, though in any case I'm still working on it and thinking about it. I could surely create a toggle for "Enabling disciplinary spanking" but that would mean enabling a punishment that leaves Sims in a negative moodlet and crying state without anyone reacting to it and I feel bad about it. Believe me when I say that I feel conflicted about this because I love this game, I feel honored to work on this mod because you can see it from the time I spend on it, but I also care about people enjoing the mod itself. You wouldn't imagine the time I've spent or remaking shemale system or the feature I implemented yesterday for scanning actual packages for animations inside your folder. I'll just think upon this. In the meantime I'm happy that I'm completely overhauling (as I can) the dominant, sub, masochist traits. I'm about to edit 28 STBL new key for sex dialogs 🤣 With attention to masochists in this last wave. EDIT: Current work (on this topic): - Added "Good Spank" moodlet only for masochists (it won't trigger on Submissive and Slut) - Added new "Maso Bliss" moodlet only for masochists that triggers with consensual rough flagged stages (cumulative moodlet, like "x3"), AND also for anal!! - Added new "Ask for rough sex" interaction ON masochists and FROM masochists: it will show a picker with only eligible masochist stages - Added new 25 STBLs (circa) for masochists that will only trigger upon consensual rough stages instead of normal womb dialogs; ALSO for anal!! - Added new "Dominant Satisfaction" for Dominant Sims that triggers on consensual spankings on Submissives and for woohooing with Submissives - It will be added very soon a "Submissive Trance" moodlet, specular to "Dominant Satisfaction" logic, but for Submissives (so like a "trance state of pleasure") for being spanked and woohooing with Dominant sims - It will be added very soon a new "Submissive Spirit" and "Dominant Spirit" moodlet as a "Aura Moodlets" with no time expiration, like "—" moodlets, that will trigger when respectively a Dominant or Submissive Sim is in the same room!! You're very welcome! Honestly, I'm happy to be able to talk about this out in the open without getting side eyes, accused of setting women back 100 years or looked at as a freak 😅we live in a time I'm finding increasingly stuffy and prim with all the morality policing and purity culture stuff going on and I don't always know how much I should say publicly😩 I am VERY excited about the new gameplay for Masochists, Subs and Dominants, like over the moon excited 😁I think you're doing an excellent job of incorporating consent into the game with trampling over alternative lifestyles people live or want to play in the game, and I especially love your reliance on toggles for fine tuning different aspects of KW to fit as many people as possible. I think that's been the golden solution so far. I hope it's not super difficult for you, if you decide to do of course, but I'd die for a "explain it was consensual" interaction😭just so my sims don't become public enemy number 1 and lose all their friends or get arrested and end up in jail😂I also think it'd be nice for sims to accept the unique needs of other sims, even if they don't agree or understand it. Can't tell you how many times I've explained it and still got people thinking my head needs to be examined, but that's also kinda funny to when I think about it. Having some sims being like "sure, cool, whatever, do you in your bedroom" and other sims like "okay, I won't call the police but I still think this is weird as hell" would probably make me giggle😂but i digress, explanation interaction would be awesome. I've dreammmed of a legitimate punishment interaction for years! I usually just have to pretend and use other mods to enforce it. For example, I've had a punishment before of having to clean the house, so I use a mod that allows any sim to clean the house for my sub sim as a punishment when she's displeased her Dom, although it's less fun when they don't recognize it as such and don't get an actual moodlet for it, but it's something, lol. I've also had my sim deprived of sex as punishment, usually giving her the "loves sex" trait would ramp this up, leaving her in a horny state with no relief until the punish time is up. Adding spanking to the punishment rotation with actual impact on the game would be amazingggg. The punishment/reward system of a sub/Dom relationship is so fundamental in BDSM. I also use that cleaning mod as an incentive for reward from the Dom, so it can be both punishment and reward depending on how it's used. I also have a mod that allows a sim to bring a meal to as sim that I use to have my sub sim server her Dom at the table and count that as a rewarding behavior. Serving is a big thing, so having her cook, clean, do laundry, bring meals, give massages and things like that add to pretend Dom/sub lifestyle very well 🤭I've been hunting for ways to add stuff for the Dom as well, petting, feeding a sub, being gentle with her and such are also things Doms do, KW luckily takes care of the rough stuff that comes from a Dom though, even more so with all your amazing changes 😭and 1000000% yes! Allowing undressing during sleep for Sims you already asked consent for would be so, so welcome. Please and thank you so, so much! I'm not a fan of corporal punishment either, I think it does do more harm than good to children. I've gotten a spanking as a kid before, it didn't really help me more than being sat down and talked to did. I much prefer the discipline system Sims 3 uses with Generations. Timeout, grounding, that kinda thing is far more productive imo, but you could always put this up to a toggle like the other stuff. While not endorsing or even approving of corporal punishment, you can leave it up to the player to decide to turn it on or not. KW comes with quite a few mechanics I leave on disabled 😅I also know some people use some of the more hardcore aspects for story telling purposes and if you remove the more negative aspects, it becomes harder to tell those stories, ya know? Many people back in the day, and still to this day are understandably upset with the rape feature, but I have a friend that uses the rape aspect of KW to get revenge on rapists. It's cathartic for her. People can often use the game to express real life and real life is certainly not always pretty, so even though some things are distasteful, they can serve a purpose. It's up to you though, what you'd like to do. I've become a toggle girl 🤭if you like it, turn it on, if you don't, turn it off 😂 Your notes have me frothing at the mouth for the new update!! Good spanks, Maso Bliss, Submissive Trance and Dominant Satisfaction 🤯 Submissive and Dominant spirit, are you kidding me?? 😭😭😭 I'm too hype for thissssss!! You are officially amazing😭 1

You are officially amazing😭 @Gentlelovely I will definitely reply to you in details about all of this as soon as I have more time (I'm leaving the PC right now), but I wanted to point out especially that what I meant was that "ask to spank" and "ask to be spanked" will not, ever, trigger a negative reaction to around Sims (like it is right now in 449), so you would never get seen "badly" or "go to jail" 🤣 What I meant in previous messages was that the "Evil/Mean Spank" that has a different toggle is reserved to the "Mean..." bucket interactions and is the "legacy" old "spank" that triggers a reaction of crying/sadness/bad moodlets, typically the same used as "mean punishment" by the headmaster in school, even if I have to verify this. So the point was: every "mean bucket" interaction (evil) is going to produce a "--" graphic and LTR effect on around Sims, like in the basegame mean interactions, because it's actually meant to "hurt", physically and/or emotionally. This will not happen with regular ask to spank/ask to be spanked like in the actual public build, because it's consensual and Sim will not mind about this! The whole point of the fix I'm implementing (at least in current work on test build), is NOT removing features, but applying a negative LTR bonus like it should be defaulted in the base game (that by the way, already exists in rape but doesn't trigger a Virtual Effect (VFX))! In 450, for example, if anyone uses the "Mean..." Spank (that is not the consensual one from Kinky pie menu, it's in the Mean menu) develops negative LTR with the spanked Sim who cries etc, and if it is seen by anyone, around Sims also get negative LTR drops because of a physical punishment. Same goes for grope! If you instead were referring to wanting to use the mean interaction because you want your Sims to cry for a spanking... That's another topic 🤣 "Explain it was consensual" would not make any sense there! Because it wouldn't be 🤣 Edited May 24 by BiterBit 1

Zhaiel Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Hi, @BiterBit! Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction! I managed to find the missing line. Turns out the package's name is: -OKW_SManimations by Kiwi. It's funny because I don't even remember downloading it in the first place, lol. Makes me wonder how many times that faulty package made my game crash. Now, I don't think the modder is still around, but in case someone is still playing with this animation, beware that it definelty has a typo as BiterBit pointed out: <Action> <Partner>1</Partner> <Category>Vagina</Category> <!-- typo: should be Vaginal --> </Action> Once I removed the package, I did some testing and played for a while. Everything seems to be working just fine for now! And just to clarify, I'm currently playing in a custom world (Brooklyn Heights) with a bunch of CC, and this is the list of my Nraas mods: This time I've found a KWErrorLog_Export and one ScriptError on my folder. I had a check on the official post where Clydie posted every reference/file: And every XML inside OKW packages (KW_SMAnimations.XML) reports the correct category (<category>vaginal</category>) instead of "vagina". XMLs within OKW packages are the ones where categories are defined: Considering those packages are fine, it's likely that @Zhaiel might have downloaded these animations from an old post/archive so the file is not updated! I should really update the main thread with every known updated pack. EDIT: I referenced many creators packs in the main post!! Edited May 24 by BiterBit 1

I've become a toggle girl 🤭if you like it, turn it on, if you don't, turn it off 😂 I also re-read your message by the way, now that I'm home, and I absolutely would love to understand of which mods you are talking about. This is because if I can study them, I can then easily integrate them in Kinky World creating an actual sub-world for dominants and submissive Sims, more than the actual moodlets I'm implementing. If you share to me their name and/or link references, I'll study these mods to try and incorporate their logic in Kinky World!! With that said, I agree on everything you said and I still think that anyone can play as they choose with the current toggles: what I actually wanted to patch, is that a punishment against the will of anybody must have at least a consequence of generating a LTR drop, visible and in the Sim data. Right now for examples, if you grope a Sim, no one reacts and no LTR is dropped even for the victim, while you are actively violating that Sim. The same goes for when you decide to "punish" a teen physically: the evil spank in that case causes a Sore buff, a sad buff, an anger buff and an actual crying animation that is the most saddest thing I've seen in this game. That's the reason why I wanted every "violence" intended as against will violence, to be observed by Sims like it happens in the base game. But this is not changing that anyone can still choose through toggles what they will be able to do during gameplay, and this doesn't change that every consensual "punishment" or rough behavior, still doesn't have any consequence because it's not a mean action. This is the purpose of 450 along other things! Also: a punishment spank "agreed" by Dom-Sub is also doable and can easily be integrated within the potential work on the mods you're speaking of. And the undressing while sleeping can also become a "bit" that is saved within the SimData of that Sim: if you asked a Sim before if they are ok with undressing (or punishing, same logic), you will then unlock those interactions with that Sim! It's all very doable! In those cases you would see "Punish" interaction and/or "Undress during sleep" in the Kinky pie menu instead of the Mean one. I just need to finish everything else before that In any case: I'm now extra curious about the mods you spoke of!! Edited May 24 by BiterBit
BiterBit Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 (edited) Oh my god. After years I realized why Kinky World TV channels were always black and empty... Beside the fact that the code was very messy around the TV watching, the code itself was expecting at least 20 _VID files inside packages that weren't there. I mean: there's a whole post about it for a file to import in the mod because the mod depends from it, and I DID NOT KNOW: @JackiMah324 did an amazing job with this and this package is FUNDAMENTAL to make the TV work properly - at least if you want that mechanic enabled. I'll try this as well to confirm everything is as expected, and then I'll update the main post - this NEEDS to be credited as main part of the mod and required content to download!! EDIT: Absolutely added as a reference in the main post!! Edited May 24 by BiterBit
spauldo Posted May 24 Posted May 24 12 hours ago, BiterBit said: @spauldo I'm using the same comment to reply to you as well This is the reason why I want everyone to feel included in Kinky World without depending on non-consensual mechanics and violence. And this is the reason why I really don't want to be the person who keeps sharing versions where a punishment against teens or schools or against someones as violence isn't seen as violence. I just don't want to cover up violence. That's it. I've come up with several different responses to this, but every time it keeps making me rethink things. It's a complex issue, and it's more complex because you have several different systems of values competing with each other. Namely: Personal values of any particular sim Community values in the sim world Personal values of the player Your personal values (i.e. what you're comfortable working on) Values of the KW community I was mostly talking about the first two - what sims in a KW world would consider normal and acceptable. But I think you're talking about more than that. That has me wondering if it'd be possible to rework the KW options from the point of view of in-game community values. Is top/low sharking a friend in public acceptable? What about a stranger? How do sims react to exhibitionists? How open are sims to casual sex? How do sims view extra-marital sex? How is rape viewed (never happens, it's evil, no one but the victim cares)? Etc. We kind of have this capability now with the various tunables and options, but they're scattered and based more along the lines of what is enabled rather than the value system in the sim world. That'd be a lot of work, but I wonder if it would make for a clearer, more customizable experience for the player. You could have a set of defaults that basically give you animated woohoo, but different parts of the mod would be enabled and sim actions/reactions would be altered based on what the player wants the community to be like. If the player wants a dark, grim sim world, then they could just make the necessary selections and they'd have it. Then again, I might be talking out my ass here It wouldn't be the first time.

I'll post them both in case there's something else it needs to be fixed or checked: KW_ErrorLog: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Log Version="1" Type="Log"> <LogData>Oniki.KinkyMod v0.9.4 (449) [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous ### WARNING ### SocializeProxy.AddInteraction: ActionData not found: Dip Kiss [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [ASK_TO_BE_SPANKED][PUSH_PRE] actor=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim target=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim instanceActor=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim instanceTarget=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim actorCurrent=Ask Marcus to spank you targetCurrent=Respond To Question actorQueue=1 targetQueue=1 actorExit=None targetExit=None [ASK_TO_BE_SPANKED][PUSH_POST] pushed=True actor=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim target=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim actorCurrent=Ask Marcus to spank you targetCurrent=Respond To Question actorQueue=1 targetQueue=2 actorExit=None targetExit=None [ASK_TO_BE_SPANKED][PUSH_PRE] actor=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim target=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim instanceActor=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim instanceTarget=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim actorCurrent=Ask Jordan to spank you targetCurrent=Respond To Question actorQueue=1 targetQueue=1 actorExit=None targetExit=None [ASK_TO_BE_SPANKED][PUSH_POST] pushed=True actor=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim target=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim actorCurrent=Ask Jordan to spank you targetCurrent=Respond To Question actorQueue=1 targetQueue=2 actorExit=None targetExit=None [ASK_TO_BE_SPANKED][PUSH_PRE] actor=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim target=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim instanceActor=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim instanceTarget=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim actorCurrent=Ask Marcus to spank you targetCurrent=Respond To Question actorQueue=1 targetQueue=1 actorExit=None targetExit=None [ASK_TO_BE_SPANKED][PUSH_POST] pushed=True actor=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim target=Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim actorCurrent=Ask Marcus to spank you targetCurrent=Respond To Question actorQueue=1 targetQueue=2 actorExit=None targetExit=None [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous [SPANK_TEST][BLOCK] autonomous </LogData> </Log> ScriptError: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ScriptError Version="6" Type="MiniScriptError"> <ExceptionData>Oniki.KinkyMod v0.9.4 (449) Actor: Salvador Albert System.NullReferenceException: A null value was found where an object instance was required. #0: 0x00098 ldfld.o in Oniki.Gameplay.Oniki.Gameplay.WooHooInstance:Loop () () #1: 0x001c3 brtrue.i4.s in Oniki.Interactions.Oniki.Interactions.WooHooLoop:Run () () #2: 0x000db stloc.u1 in Sims3.Gameplay.Interactions.Sims3.Gameplay.Interactions.InteractionInstance:RunInteractionWithoutCleanup () () #3: 0x00348 stloc.u1 in Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.InteractionQueue:ProcessOneInteraction () () #4: 0x0011c stfld.u1 in Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim:DoInteraction () () #5: 0x00015 br.s in Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sims3.Gameplay.Actors.Sim:Simulate () () #6: 0x00027 leave.s in ScriptCore.ScriptCore.ScriptProxy:Simulate () () </ExceptionData> </ScriptError> __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks again! Hey @Zhaiel! I posted another comment about the XML being broken - it's likely a very old package you downloaded from somewhere, as of now it is correctly formed and downloadable in the Clydie's original post that has already been added as a reference to the main post! The KWErrorLog is stuff you can ignore: I temporarily needed to add logging for spanking (to also distinguish manual/autonomous actions) and that's what you see there. I will remove it from KWErrorLogOnQuit and you can eventually disable that logging toggle at all inside Miscellaneous > Logging features, along with the global buffer for performances!! The ErrorScript you attached instead is more interesting. It's representing a WooHoo Instance that apparently failed because the code doesn't guard (still) null Sims states in SimData, especially when code needs to read statuses like "Master" and such for the animation (it's your case). I'm fixing this in the code (thank you) but during a gameplay this can just manifest as a potential WooHoo interrupting in a low-chance scenario so it's not game-breaking. But thank you!! I fixed this already in 450! 1
BiterBit Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 (edited) 34 minutes ago, spauldo said: I've come up with several different responses to this, but every time it keeps making me rethink things. Thank you for your comment. Yes, I was mixing many arguments (the ones you listed) but in short terms, I obviously care about players enjoying the mod (me included), while at the same time I care about working on aspects of the mod itself that I feel comfortable not only in editing/testing in game, but also releasing. Because there's "my name" on these builds. My "idea" of the mod if I'm the only person currently releasing these builds. Aside from the fact that top/low sharking a Sim in public never worked for me (in my tests) and I don't even know why (it didn't appear in the pie menu and I didn't lose enough time investigating), most of the aspects you shared are already a toggle/tunable. You can for example disable exhibitionism gatings for a lot of behaviors, disable flashers/exhibition in general (or something very similar), many toggles in Story Progression, Services and every submenu, disabling arousal, autonomy, cheating mechanics, you can trigger "always accept" and all of that. Everything is actually even more tunable: the risk is that if you make everything tunable (like literally everything) you make the mod heavier, you risk more issues, and you have a lot of work to do (as you already said). Since I started working on the mod I always focused on giving players (me included) what they do expect from this mod to enjoy it more, and that at least from how I saw it, was missing A LOT of things to include and a lot of several fixes I'm still doing as we speak. But I (personally) have a limit about violence, that of course many people can reject/understand. This of course is a mod, an adult mod, and a "Kink" focused mod, so many things are different from the base game, there is also strong content and everything is oriented to adult/kinky topics. The point is that, if someone mentions something broken like it happened in the past (Spank, Grope), I can change that in my builds, but once I touch that behavior I can't avoid reaching a compromise between what "community" wants and what I am capable of implementing. I can't work on, and I can't release something, that makes me feel bad - it takes the will out of me to keep fixing things or adding content and generally keeps me in a bad mood during the day. I think this can be relatable to any developer/modder that wants to share its ideas, but also keep players happy. Beside the fact that the current work on 450 is pretty huge (many things to introduce and fix) and that therefore I cannot re-structure many things/behaviors, I can definitely note things up in my TODO and you can absolutely report me any suggestion and what you would like to change or add as a toggle in the future - as you can see, I try listening to everyone even for new features, and I love working on Kinky World code and resources. And I of course love Sims 3. As of now, adding a toggle to disable negative effects from very violent and mean actions feels just out of me. It's not in default/legacy code (it was mainly bugs or incomplete code), it's not tunable in any other settings, and it's in the base game (reaction to evil actions). An evil action (something made with bad intents) is meant to trigger a negative reaction, and this was already implemented in half of the features I reviewed: they were simply almost incomplete, like all of them, but still had code to triggers reaction: LTR drops (without visual effects), chance of calling police, radius of impact on Sims for certain mechanics. Of course, there are things someone considers acceptable, and things others don't. As much as I clearly feel like a "Kinky" person, my personal limit is violence against unwilling targets. So as long as the mod still allows you to play as you wish (I'm not removing any feature unless bugged/broken), if you use (non consensual) violence mechanics you'll likely see negative reactions from Sims starting from 450. I feel actually sorry if this is going to disappoint some people, I just hope that this people is not the actual entire community - it's the only thing I really hope. For sure - anyone in my place could just disable every reaction from every Sim or just create a toggle so users can choose to keep everyone happy, but that would mean that someone could play hurting Sims randomly without any logic "consequence" and I just don't like the idea. Also I think there might be many mods to disable negative effects from mean actions or the general game - I just don't think (as of now) I can do that without feeling bad about it. I need to stay coherent at least with what makes me feel comfortable to keep doing this. In the meantime, I'm in any case still working on it and thinking about what you said. So I'll end up in a way or another choosing a final design for this Edited May 24 by BiterBit 2
