Initially, the lactation side of things was sort of an afterthought.  Is this type of mechanic something you/orthers would like to see integrated into the main mod?

Yes, would definitely like to see it integrated into the main mod. I don't use ZAZ and having a lactation animation would be cool too.

That's good to know.  I'll look into it.

EDIT:  I finally got a chance to boot up my gaming PC today and looked into it.  Are you sure you don't have ZaZ loaded?  I don't see any other way you could get that result.  There are patched versions that don't require SexLab.  The code that shows "loaded" is:

if Game.GetModByName("ZaZAnimationPack.esm" != 255)
        AddTextOption("ZaZ Animation Pack", "Loaded")
else
...

Well, I don't know what I can tell you, other than that I am 100% confident that ZaZ is not loaded on the basis that I've never even downloaded it. I've also never downloaded SexLab (as I mentioned, I'm using OStim) or any addons that exclusively require it. Either it's a problem with Egg Mania, or I have some other mod that comes with ZaZ by default without me realising. I've attached a modlist, if you want to check.

EDIT: Though come to think of it, that wouldn't explain it, because, if I'm understanding your code correctly (and there's every chance that I'm not), all Egg Mania is doing is checking to see if the ZaZ esm is loaded, and I can confirm that it's not in the Data folder. I've also searched the Vortex staging folder for "ZaZ" and "zazanimationpack.esm" and got no hits; it's almost certainly something with Egg Mania.

Look in your plugin list, not the list of mods by name.  The lookup is done by the filename of the esp/esm.  In MO2, this is on the right side by default.  The 'Plugins' tab.  In the filter on the bottom, type in zaz and see if anything comes up.

There are patched versions of the esm the remove the sexlab.esm master requirement. For instance, I don't run SexLab, but I do have ZaZ.  It seems unlikely it would have been bundled, but I'm at a loss for what else you could look for.  Somehow that line of code is saying the plugin by that name is loaded.

I don't know if I can include the milking animations from ZaZ to remove it as a requirement.  If they're Leito animations, they're okay to include with credit to Leito.  But if they're original ZaZ animations, the dependency has to stay.  I agree it would be nice to include if possible, so I'll put it on the backlog.  If anyone happens to know of more animations that can be used with attribution, please let me know.

I'm also looking for ideas on achievement rewards and daedric boons for Clavicus Vile, Vaermina, and ... I think one more I can remember off hand.  For achievements, I was considering looking into the possibility of adding abilities like the Chaurus spit or the Spriggan life drain.  Sort of a "corrupted" theme, after a certain number of encounters and/or eggs produced.  It would be used like a shout.  I also considered perhaps after certain very high level achievements, you would be considered a member of that faction, so they would be non-hostile unless attacked.

One mechanic half-implemented: Enemies that cast the vampire drain spell on you can inflict a blood curse. (You fill and produce a blood potion, and then become afflicted with vampiris ... whatever it's called.)  The code that detects you being hit by the drain spell is already there and working.  I just haven't hooked up the actual curse yet.

If 3.4.0 will be the last version that supports Sexlab, could you please leave it in the downloads section then? For us who love the mod, but use Sexlab over Ostim. I'm asking cause I don't see where to download it.

I finally figured this out. The line I posted above was:

if Game.GetModByName("ZaZAnimationPack.esm" != 255)

That line was supposed to be:

if Game.GetModByName("ZaZAnimationPack.esm") != 255

(parentheses in the wrong place)

Sometimes my eyes just blur and don't see the issue.  It's fixed in the next version.  It needs a bit of play-testing, and then I'll post it.

First, thanks for this mod, it's been fun to try out! Almost everything is working that I've tried. MCM is there, spells are there, ingredients are there, can make potions and do all that. Midwife stuff appears to work fine. Pregnancies go from start to finish (on soul gems anyway). Curses go from start to finish. Can confirm it works on my female PC and male followers. I even got the labour animations working for males.

I admit I kinda giggled when I saw Faendal doubled over. Yes I'm evil. Wow, he was loud (Audio also working but I made some adjustments haha) Also, incidentally, I was pickpocketing Jarl Balgruuf's brother (don't ask lol) and I found a baby soul gem in his inventory. That was interesting, but also brings me to the issue I noticed.

Things are working on males, but they are not inflating. This could be down to me misunderstanding things, or my setup. I have HIMBO for males and I know from Bodyslide there is a "Pregnant" slider. I know you also said it was important to name the sliders correctly when putting them into the MCM. My female character inflates all the time, btw, just to be clear. I do have Oinflation installed on my Ostim setup, so I figured that could be messing with things? Also I was a little confused with the Inflation and Pregnancy section of the MCM as it has a spot for morphs there but I don't know what I should be putting there. I was putting all my changes into the Male and Female morph sections. I also have Sexlab installed and just kinda sitting there for one other mod I use. Maybe that could be messing with something as well, I dunno.

I have MO2 and I have over a thousand mods installed, so I realize it could be anything, but it's working so well otherwise I figured it was down to user error or something small. I know it's not the end of the world to not have visual changes on males, but I like to see an indicator of where they might be in their suffering/enjoyment journey, ya know? Before they double over and start screaming. I figured I'd provide the feedback in either case as it may be helpful. As for male lactation, if anyone was wondering I did find a bottle of milk in guinea pig Faendal's inventory as I was rummaging around. So it works even though I couldn't confirm anything visually.

I'm realizing though as I'm typing this, Balgruuf's bro, whatshisface Hrongar? I wasn't messing with him in any capacity(apart from riffling his pockets) and that gem still appeared. I think I did select that males can get pregnant too in the MCM but I dunno who the progenitor was cause I'm sure it wasn't any of my crew lol. I do have OstimNPCs though where NPCs go off and get busy on their own so yeah, can confirm that happens at least in this combo.

The soul gem thing is a head scratcher to me.  I've had it happen in my game, as well.  It's not added to any leveled lists, and it has no vendor keywords.  There may be some deeper way the Skyrim engine knows it's a soul gem and can land on it when adding a soul gem as loot.  I really don't know.  A possible workaround would be to duplicate some other random misc object to use as the 'egg' item behind the scenes for tracking purposes and just added a regular, unnamed black soul gem when people choose that option.

For the sliders, I set it up so that if you enable males and don't change the defaults, it should work.  Then, you can tweak it from there.  You could try backing up your settings json files to somewhere safe and letting the game regenerate them on a fresh start.  Then, see if those morph settings work for you.  But I would hold off until I release the next version later today since it will require a clean save anyway.  It has lots of bugfixes, too, in case one of those was biting you.

One question :)
If I never tried/installed your mod before, can I install it mid playthrough or it won't install/initialize properly without starting a brand new game?

It should be totally fine since all the quests/scripts in the mod are added.  It doesn't touch base-game scripts.  Issues will only arise when upgrading mid-save from an earlier version without cleaning a save first since earlier versions of these scripts are already baked in if you're upgrading.

And for people who are upgrading, I just realized I didn't call it out specifically in the changelog like I usually do, but 3.6 DOES require a clean save.
