Normal nude mod - 100% working, without any problems.

My or ynxks123's Mio/Mayu swap mod - Mio's face model isn't displaying.

either you are not transferring the face information and its just loading the body or the game has some weird body to face connection, like FF5, so it could be the game itself not recognising the model, or the two models having different amount of triggers and rigging so it doesn't work? try changing costumes as this could also be something, the game might be trying to equip something, for example if you equip them with a hair pin, the game might see that Mio's pin isn't compactible with Mayu head or gets confused and bugs out...

dont use this thing and dont really know how these work, just remember having similar issues on the other games and no one being able to fix them, at least not for fifth game as modding sort of died for that one lol

lol ok, I see.

@ynxks123Are you sure the "character swap.rar" mod you posted on page 14 works correctly? After using it, I found that just like with my own replacement mod, Mio's nude model couldn't display the face too.

サイレントヒル衣装交換.rar 4.99 MB ・ 1ダウンロード

Thank you for finding my mod.

I also struggled with this issue, but I managed to resolve it.

The cause of the problem is as follows.

Why it happens

The problem is not in the model itself. Mio's models keep her face, teeth and eye area in a separate "display group" of their own. Each character in the game decides which display groups of its model to draw, and Mayu's character (the companion) never draws that face group, because Mayu's own models don't have one. So when Mio's model is used for Mayu, everything is drawn except the face.

How to fix it

The model files need to be changed so that Mio's face is in the main group, the same way Mayu's models are built. After that, the face shows up on the companion as well. This has to be done for every Mio model you use (each costume has a high-detail and a low-detail model).

If you are interested, my GitHub repository might be of some help.

Thanks again! The role swap between Mio and Mayu is really interesting, especially in some cutscenes.

Here is a mod that let you to play as Yae and Sae. It replaces Mio and Mayu's white kimonos, though for some reason, the red ropes are missing. While it works fine in most scenes, there are minor issues with the rendering of the characters' eyes in a few scenes. Also, it can be used with the twinswap mod.

Hi @tukasa27, thank you very much for updating the twinswap mod again! But it seems you've confused yae and sae. When I enter "yae" in the .ini file, it actually displays sae in game, and vice versa. Also, it would be useful if there were a toggle in the .ini file to switch the visibility of the red ropes at Yae's and Sae's waists! (Because they caused some clipping issues)

KurosawaSisters.thumb.png.62f3ada52a9f491b1e6ef3654d377711.png

btw if it's convenient for you, could you take a look at Mio's summer cardigan model (0xD7774EEF.g1m)?

In this model, Mio actually has a white blindfold, though it is hidden by default in the game. Also, the cutscene for the "Hellish Abyss" ending actually uses a pre-rendered video file. However, with your mod, if Mio and Mayu are swapped, and this outfit is selected, Mio's blindfold becomes visible when she appears as the enemy possessed by Sae.
Is it possible to add a switch to the ini file to make the eye patch of this mio model always visible in the game, whether during cutscenes or while controlling the character, or to completely hide it? Thx!

KurosawaSisters.thumb.png.62f3ada52a9f491b1e6ef3654d377711.png

Thank you so much for testing it so carefully and for the detailed report!

You were right about Sae and Yae - I had them the wrong way round. I had told them apart from the game's data alone, and my guess turned out to be wrong. Version 2.2.0 fixes it: "sae" is now the one with the rope only tied around her waist, and "yae" is the one whose rope hangs down.

I also added the toggle you suggested. In the Swap section of twinswap.ini, Rope=1 shows the red rope (the default) and Rope=0 hides it, so you can turn it off if the clipping bothers you. Please note that updating replaces twinswap.ini with the new one, so you will need to set Main / Sub again.

Thanks as well for the information about the blindfold on Mio's summer cardigan model. I had a look at 0xD7774EEF.g1m: the blindfold is in a display group of its own that only the high-detail model has. Mio's own character normally never shows it, but Mayu's character picks display groups by number, and on this model that number happens to be the blindfold - which is why it appears once the twins are swapped. An ini switch to always show it or always hide it looks doable. I haven't reached that ending myself yet, so I'd like to work on it after I've seen it, but it's on my list.

Thanks again - your mod and your feedback have really helped this one along!

You're welcome! :) Six months after this game's release, there has finally been a major breakthrough regarding model swapping - Of course, all thanks to you!

Hello, I have a question. As shown in the picture, I encountered some problems when using this mod normal_default_outfit_nude_V2. All the plants in the game will collapse completely like this.Is there any solution?5f5999bc-494a-4df5-8873-791fbb54aa11.png.180ea09be8b9b2c3c2c919025a17dede.png

get that as well, might be texture sharing somehow? or certain triggers in rendering is set to a certain thing on the character and seeing that she has nothing on, the game doesn't understand what to render?? am guessing so might be incorrect...?

I've now seen that ending, so here is the blindfold switch you asked for. It's in version 2.3.0.

In the Swap section of twinswap.ini there is a new setting, Blindfold, for Mio's summer cardigan:
Blindfold=default leaves it as the game does,
Blindfold=show makes her wear the blindfold all the time,
Blindfold=hide removes it completely.

With hide, the blindfold no longer shows up when she appears as the possessed enemy with the twins swapped - I checked that scene. A few notes:

- Only the high-detail model has the blindfold, so with show it is still not drawn when she is far from the camera.
- With hide, it is also gone in scenes where the game itself would show it.
- The ending movie you mentioned plays as a pre-recorded video, so the setting does not change anything inside it.

- It works without swapping the twins as well.

One more thing about the rope toggle from 2.2.0: Rope=0 hides the rope during gameplay, but it still appears in cutscenes. Hiding it there too would also remove the rope from the real Sae and Yae who appear in events, so I have left it as a known issue for now.

Thanks again for the report and the ideas!

Excellent! I think this mod is perfect now. It could even partially depict the scene in the hellish abyss ending where Mayu leads the blind Mio away from the village. Thank you very much!

TwinSwap 2.4.0 is out. Thanks to everyone here for the pointers along the way - a good part of this mod exists because of what I learned in this thread.

What's new:

- Chitose can be chosen as a look, for the player character or the companion. She is smaller than the twins, so her skeleton is adjusted to stand on the ground with the twins' animations.
- Skin tones. Chitose can be given a living skin tone, and Sae and Yae a ghost's pale skin. The textures are rebuilt from the game's own files when the game starts, so no image files are shipped.
- Sae, Yae and Chitose now use the mod's own copies of their models. The ones who appear in the story are left as they are, whatever you choose.
- Rope=0 is now meant to hide Sae's and Yae's red rope in cutscenes too, not only during gameplay.
- twinswap.ini has been tidied up: the settings are at the top and the explanations at the bottom.

Everything is chosen in twinswap.ini, for example:

Main=chitose
Sub=sae
ChitoseSkin=human
SaeYaeSkin=ghost

Two things to know:

- Chitose's model has no feet, so nothing is drawn below the hem of her kimono. That is how the game's own model is made, not a bug in the mod.
- The sleeves of Sae's and Yae's kimono may keep swaying even while standing still. I have not found the cause yet.

I have not tested this through the whole game - only walking around, a few scenes and a few costumes. Cutscenes with Sae, Yae or Chitose as a look have hardly been checked, and I have not confirmed the Rope=0 change in a cutscene yet. If something looks wrong, please tell me which scene it was and what your twinswap.ini says. A screenshot helps a lot.

I had a look at the files of normal_default_outfit_nude_V2 out of curiosity. It is not my mod and I have not tried any fix myself, so please take this as a guess, not a confirmed answer.

What I found: the bounding box stored in the two replaced models (Mio's and Mayu's default outfit) is broken.

- Mio's model: the box's maximum is about (4.3e37, 1.1e27, 4.3e37). In the original game file it is about (47.8, 153.9, 18.8).
- Mayu's model: the maximum is about (149.9, 153.8, 148.8). In the original it is about (47.8, 153.8, 19.3).

So the game is told that Mio is practically infinitely large.

Where it seems to come from: the vertex buffers of the clothing parts that were removed still contain leftover data - some zeros, some junk values, a few of them not even valid numbers. Those vertices are not drawn, which is why the character looks fine, but the bounding box appears to have been calculated over them as well.

Why I think this is the cause: grass in this game bends away from the character. If the game uses the model's bounding box to decide where the character is, a box that large would make every plant on the map behave as if it were being stepped on. That matches "all the plants collapse", but I have not tested it in game.

If the author of the mod reads this, two things that might fix it:

- write the original bounding box back into the model (the six floats in the header of the G1MG chunk), or
- give the vertices of the removed parts ordinary values (somewhere inside the body, for example) before exporting, so that the exporter calculates a sane box.

Again, this is only what the files suggest. I have not tried either of these, and I can't promise it is the real cause.
