Oneirosis - a disordered state of dreaming

So I'm playing on the LE, and despite the game loading and my load order showing the mod as present, nothing happens. I've installed both the latest version and the required file from Mega. I don't know what's going on.

Is there a particular reason you're playing on LE? It's incredibly deprecated and unsupported at this point. Unless you're on an ancient 32-bit PC, I'd recommend making the switch.

I don't blame him, the only advantage of SSE is the inherent benefits of the 64 bit architecture. Every design choice Bethesda made after that was a mistake. From the assortment of minor QoL downgrades (eg. changing the esc menu to not open the system page anymore, removing the ability to easily toggle esps from the launcher, changing sprint to a toggle without the option to use the old behaviour for those with a decade of muscle memory), the useless bloat (eg. trying to connect to beth servers every time you boot the game and forcing the CC slop content down your throat) and the absolute crayon-eating retardation that was making new versions for the most minor and irrelevant changes, without warning or choice, that bricked SKSE and resulted in a mess of 10 versions where it is an ordeal tracking down all the right dlls. If LE wasn't so much rougher than SE on Linux I'd be playing it too.

This alone covers all the inconveniences during the transition. 64 version is incomparably more stable so it is really funny to me see cave man people which still using LE

I can't get the cutscenes to download from Mega - it gets to a certain point and then stalls. I have tried multiple times. Could you upload it somewhere else like googledrive?

Thank you for the mod, it looks very interesting and I'm looking forward to playing it once I manage to get it downloaded.

With all due respect, SE is infinitely more stable than LE, in large part due to the 64-bit architecture. You can also install literally thousands more mods than you ever could with LE, and all of the other complaints are solved (as always with Bethesda games) with mods. It's literally a non-issue, but misinformation keeps propagating in... mostly this specific corner of the modding scene.

SE is stable at 1.5.97, if the whole SKSE thing is a sticking point, and AE is stable at 1170, and has been for several years now. This is the version that everyone makes their DLLs for: the SKSE problems are of the past. Papyrus Tweaks NG also has eliminated script lag to a large extent, further increasing the attractiveness of SE/AE. There are, again with utmost respect, zero rational or logical reasons to remain with LE in soon-to-be 2026. Subjective, sure. I know some people insist that LE with ENB looks nicer than SE/AE with ENB (I don't see it), and that's a perfectly valid subjective reason to like LE more. I don't think many people share that opinion, including yourself since you didn't mention it in your comment.

Also... At the time of writing this, there were 25,878 players in SE/AE. There were a scant 1,073 players in LE. I think most people have moved on, which is for the best.

In other news, I'm finally finishing up the patching process of my new modlist and playthrough, and will soon hopefully be able to jump in and give your mod a try. I'm very excited! I can see myself building a playthrough around Oneirosis in the future.

Yes there are obviously benefits to SE, but there are a myriad of user experience hangups that mean it isn't better if, for example, you don't run 4k texture replacers for everything so don't need the higher memory limit of 64 bit. That user came to ask for help and you essentially just said "lmao, use the 'right' version". I do not want you gatekeeing LE users when I am explicitly going to the trouble of maintaining compatibility. Next time an LE user comes here to ask for help, either post something productive or do not post.

To be honest, I can't get a lot of mods to work with SE, and the times I've had the same 40 headaches despite countless fresh reinstalls have driven me to my breaking point on more than one occasion.

Also to clarify even though only thought about it just now I looked at an item in the mod page using the 'help' item and the console can't find it

Are you sure the oneirosis.esp is enabled? Are you perhaps mistaking it for the oneirosis_loadscreens.esp addon (which is JUST loadscreens)? If so can you check the esp in either xedit/wryebash/etc. and see if it is throwing errors

Yep, having the same issue, mega stops the download at like 90% every time. Been trying a VPN because of the file transfer limit on mega but it's still not working.

The mod really does look interesting though! Can't wait to fully try it out

Sounds like the scripts aren't running. Console yourself the "onedebug" spell and try "quicktest" or "givsuc" to see what happens

How?

Definitely an interesting mod. If there's support added for male PCs I'll probably grab it, as the inability to get any onierosiphon goodness from the ladies is depressing.

according to vortex and even the steam start up (I'm using to to check all active esp), the mod is both active and installed

Viewer strings not available. I'm on LE. Also, if Oneirosis.eps is disabled, MO2 gives no missing esp warning on save file. Only installed the MEGA file and the main file containing esp.

There was an issue with the specific backport script I was using mangling the headers. I swapped to a new one and dug up an old LE install to confirm it now works.

The quest seems to have dissappeared from my journa but I'm still getting urge notificationsl. Is there a manual with further details? Your description is extensive which i thank you for. So far this is an excellent mod in my list.

I haven't currently got any sort of debug system for the urges or way to restart them, you might have to  just blindly increment your stats and hope it fixes itself or "Completequest one_std" to kill it if it doesn't. Can you please tell me what urge/s you have before it stopped showing etc.

I've had thankless task, joyride another persons horse, skill from a master, explore new places. I think thats it, if I've had more i dont remember. It stopped showing about 10 hours into my playthrough.

Edit: dont stress over this, i do have a bunch of mods installed and any of them could be interfering with yours. But if you do look into, thats awesome too.👍

I also have the issue with urge quest disappearing from my journal but still prompting me to complete my Urge.

I also have an issue with the second quest from Jullene. Spoiler incase anyone wants to do the quest on their own.

Spoiler

I spoke with Erandur and started the Waking Nightmare quest to get access to the temple area. When I first entered I could see the quest marker for the amulet. I proceeded down the stairs until Erandur had us turn around and go to the library. At that point I noticed the quest marker for the amulet disappeared. I continued on the quest and eventually found the amulet on my own and picked it up. It didn't progress the quest for Jullene at all. I finished the Waking Nightmare quest, and then went back to Jullene. She's no where to be found. I scoured all over the Cistern and even the Ragged Flagon and she's gone. Quest still tells me "Find a way to retrieve an amulet from the Nightcaller Temple for Jullene in the Thieves Guild."

I admit I got lazy so didn't bother to attach a script to the amulet for updating the quest arrow on pickup, so that is expected behaviour, but I have no idea why she would be missing since her only ai package is to sandbox in that little area near the grindstone. The quest/dialogues don't check for an alias though, simply the actor base id, so If you spawn a new copy of her with the console you should be able to continue.
