Claynation01 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 This post is for no particular reason just airing my thoughts about Nexus Mod Manager pretty sure it does not unnistall all mods correctly plus the amount of time it takes to do well anything and how it seems to have a grievance with chsbhc body 30mins+ WTH lol, think is time for me to drop a Cupcake of doom on it [see pic], er but anyway i think i will go back to seveNbase for the female re placer and get Mod Organiser, not to keen about it selecting which animation packs to overwrite on its own but i saw a guide for it somewhere are go read that first and clean install skyrim AGAIN, but hopefully for the last time alright that's all. Peace
Guest corespore Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 After a quick count i'm running 9 animations on MO without any issues. As long as the animations don't alter the same game data there shouldn't be any issues installing with MO. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/20492-mod-organizer/ This forum thread might help you with any MO questions. Sorry NMM kept giving you grief and here's hoping your conversion to MO goes more smoothly.

Hmm thanks for your input i tried out MO then changed enb to my previous one installed dual sheath redux removed elfx then after i hit new game it Skyrim ctd on the aludin loading screen, so i tried rolling back to earlier version in case the new one was buggy now it ctd when i launch skyrim i tried it before and i removed it then aswell looks like i will be binning MO and going back to nmm maybe slow but does work for me. Peace Thanks
calranthe Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 MO takes a while to get use to, first time I installed it, got rid of it but after talking with others reading some online guides MO is amazing, I have 4 different profiles for Skyrim and it allows me to mess up repeatedly and get things back. My advice watch some of the online guides, type any questions into google then try it I will never go back to NMM.

Seemed like too much hassle to learn it. BUT after having NMM wreck a game I had lots of time in I figured the time spent learning to us MO properly is a lesser investment that having other games with dozens of hours lost and spending another few hours re-installing Skyrim and the mods I wanna' use. So MO wins out in the end. Never having to re-install the game and the mods is such a HUGE benefit that it far outweighs the time taken to learn it's use.
mclericp Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 MO is far better but i still use NMM instead. I like NMM for some reason and i find MO a bit annoying to use, since it fails to install correctly interesting NPCs.
...0... Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 SKSE for run skyrim and manual install all mods very carefully ive np for long time now but im handy with right mods working together and place them in correct folder. Almost no scripted mods that helps plus got a high end pc so i can handle some juicy mods with heavy textures. Knowledge about how to install use boss/tes5edit tweaking ini's and the exact loadorder helps also. I like this way and i do it rather fast. Build im playing now is 3 months old do reinstalls avarage after 3-4months. I sometimes crash also im no exceptions but i play session of 4 hours easly most times. I use sometimes for testing a mod the nmm. MO is better then NMM but it need some knowledge how to use it. For strarters NMM is better. Good luck.
Claynation01 Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 Hmm thanks guys/girls i may go back to MO but i will do alot more studying up on it first, yep i agree NMM is much simpler but much slower. Peace
psammeticus Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I've heard some pretty good things about MO, and I still have it in mind to try one of these days. I personally use wrye, and completely love it. NMM is a decent start, but it tends to be fairly brutal in the way it installs and uninstalls files.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 and in case anyone wants to go for manual installation, its not as difficult as it sounds. though id wish there would be an awesome beginners-tutorial available for that, especially if it would be on loverslab... that would be soooo awesome oooh, wait a second... i just made one yesterday: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/26102-manual-installation-of-skyrim-mods-a-beginners-guide/
gvman3670 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Actually I think that manual installation is easy as pie. Damned near as quick as using NMM, too. I first learned to mod manually (and with OBMM). But it's still a pretty tedious process to uninstall mods and that can still leaves holes behind if anything was overwritten during installation, you remove the mod and don't replace the original bits and pieces (this is where backups come into play).

bytion Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 The most improant thing about using MO is: U need to have a clear mind about what u doing, just like using Wrye Bash, knowing which files will be overwrited (in MO maybe it should be called "over-readed"?), which part of the mods will be load into game. after u learn about MO a bit, u will find as long as u keep a good habit about mod management, it's impossible for u to mess up your skyrim.
