MilosLegacy Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Ive been playing with my mods for a while now, i really enjoy it but i wish my game looked better. Ive been thinking about starting over and setting new mods. Keeping the sex mods and the HCoS mods but i am SO scared that im gonna break my mods again. I hate not knowing how to mod properly. Ive looked over the guides and i feel so stupid that i get overwhelmed and I just shut down. the last mod i installed broke all my animations and it took days to reset everything. I lost sleep. hahah How do you guys know what your doing? Cuz i want to add Skyfurry NG or something so i can play as a furry and have all my creature fun too... im just scared

Grey Cloud Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Don't have a plan. That way nothing can go wrong. On a more serious note, there is nothing wrong with trial and error and learning from your mistakes.

Hahaha. Welcome to modding! That's precisely what learning with mods is all about – until you know what you're doing, you won't know for a long time... that's what creates the learning curve. Just watching tutorials isn't nearly enough – the learning effect (from "seeing") is minimal. It's much more important to follow a tutorial (even if it's just for learning purposes) – essentially, to recreate a mod image exactly. In doing so, you'll encounter problems, and solving them is what truly leads to UNDERSTANDING – "what you're doing." Only then are you ready to expand such a mod image with your own desired mods. The following guide is highly recommended for this learning process – meaning you should actually follow it exactly. 1

Make sure you have installed any mods required by the mod you just installed.

When i boot up and hit continue it says that i need mcmhelper for creations... i dont know what i did. I feel like an idiot i should have left everything alone. I test started a new game and the player character is now invisible. I dont know how to fix this.... i need some real help

My advice – and believe me, I've done this myself more than 20 times – is to start completely from scratch. This means choosing the "atomic option": - Uninstall the mods (but keep the archives, i.e., the compressed zip files) - Uninstall the game and delete the game folder - Reinstall the game Now use the guide I linked and rebuild the game completely according to these instructions. Yes, this is painful, but such failures are part of modding... there's no point in trying to find the error (or explaining what you're doing wrong) because your current knowledge of modding is so limited that you won't understand what we're telling you. Of course, you can ignore all of this, but you probably won't have any success in solving your problems.

Sometimes it doesn't enable .esp's, go into "Plugins" and check to see if it's enabled.
Miauzi Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 Vor 9 Minuten schrieb shrtjsrtj: Nutzt du Vortex? That's one of the reasons why I switched to "MO2" after many years of using "Vortex"... I have a much better overview thanks to the side-by-side windows (mod on the left - plugins on the right).
Count Chocula Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 I really don't know why anyone would use Vortex unless they want to use Nexusmods collections. It is so clunky, cumbersome and unintuitive compared to MO2.

I am going to quote myself from here: Quote Whoever tells you that one is better than the other, because <insert any reason> is an idiot and their opinion should immediately be disregarded as an ignorant, ill-informed babble, showing they have absolutely no idea about the subject.
