I downloaded everything, put it in the right place, and started a game with only the mods needed to run ZL. Animations that occur near an object (a wall, a fence, or anything else) are not implemented yet. First, try encountering a zombie in the middle of a field (no objects nearby, not even a hay bale). Normally, you should see an animation. If you still don’t see anything, it might be because you’re injured and losing some health (check if the heart in the sidebar is shaking from left to right). If that’s not it, maybe you didn’t press the space bar during the mini-game. If you don’t press it, your character should say a short line. If you are pressing correctly in the pink zone and still nothing happens, then I’d like you to upload your console.txt file so I can understand what’s going on.

From what I see in your log: You enabled the mod “errorMagnifier” → not necessary, disable this useless mod. “ZomboLustBeingFemale” → Zikhad’s version is not fully compatible with my mod yet, disable it because it’s not ready and may cause unexpected behavior. “Yaki Hair Salon” → not tested on my side yet, possible incompatibility. Maybe you enabled two model mods at the same time? You can disable the Cheat Menu mod, since it’s only useful for my own testing or if you really want to change a setting during gameplay. However, you can keep it if you want, as Cheat Menu is one of my mods and is compatible. Other than that, the rest of the logs look fine when creating your new character. My advice: Disable ALL your mods and test only with the ones listed as compatible in post #1 (I added a new image like the one in this post). Then enable your other mods ONE BY ONE, testing each time, until you find the mod or mods that are incompatible and causing your game to crash and lag heavily.

New version doesn't work for me tho, on the main menu i get around 200 errors popups on the low right side of the screen, and the game just straight up crash when i try to load my save, it freezes the game and then crashes when i close the tutorial popup on load. Switched my version to the older one and everything works fine again, with no error, not sure what's going on. In unstable B42, and on top of that with my mod still in Beta, it is highly likely that old saves will not work. It is better to create a new save. ********************************* I have identified the cause of the freezes and OOM (Out Of Memory) crashes. It is due to the fact that all animations are stored in zombie\bumped, and the game scans this directory for every zombie that spawns. Very quickly, even with a low zombie population, the game becomes overloaded and crashes with an OOM error. I am looking for a solution. Apparently I messed up during the export of Lust’s animations. I’ve disabled the mod’s download link on page #1 to prevent people from downloading a version that would crash their game. I’m currently redoing the animations to fix this whole mess. I’ve been trying to download and install the mod for the past few days, but I still haven’t been able to find the download link for the “ZomBoLust” mod shown in the preview screenshots. I could only find the download link for the ZomboLust animation files. I also couldn’t find any “ZomBoLust” mod entry or related icon in the in-game mod menu. Did I possibly miss something important, such as a required core file or another download page? Or was the main ZomBoLust download temporarily removed because the mod is still unfinished or being reworked? Thanks !

Okay, I did some curious analysis in reference to the last incidents by just counting. And, yeah. It is the animations, and no, blabla did not mess up the animations export, it's even worse. So, let's start small. This is the main object of a single keyframe for any animation: public final class Keyframe { public Quaternion rotation; public Vector3f position; public Vector3f scale = new Vector3f(1.0F, 1.0F, 1.0F); public int bone; public String boneName; public float time = -1.0F; This has around ~140 bytes most of the time, but let's be generous here, and assume its 100 bytes. And this class applies to every single bone on an animation in a single frame, and since game's model has 33 bones it gives us 3.3Kb for each frame in an animation. Aright all good. VanillaZomboid Animations remain on average with 20 frames or less, so it often lies with 66Kb for each animation. All good, this is reasonable giving the context of the game. Now, let's look at BlaBla's animations... At best case scenario, a single animation of them in ZomboLust, has 400 frames, and that's the best case scenario. The finished animations has 1400 frames, but they are the minority, because the majority of the animations are placeholders with 3100 frames, and at worst with 4500 FRAMES. I think you are starting to see where I'm going with this... On ZomboLust, there are in total 468 animations. If we are generous we can assume that each animation has on average 2000 frames. Which result in total of 936.000 FRAMES in the entire mod. And with the calculations we did before with each frame costing around 3.3kb, we can do: 3.3kb x 936.000 = 3.088.800Kb Which can be simplified to FREAKING 3 GIGABYTES OF JUST PURE ANIMATION ON THE GAME'S MEMORY. And that's being an estimate, it can be big or small, but it's always on the house of GygaBytes. NO WONDER THE GAME CRASHES SO MUCH! And the crazy thing, Zomboid has around 1500 animations for the humanoid characters, and that often summarizes to less than 200Mb in the game's memory. And that is assuming it works like this. The game might have some optimizations for it. I'm sorry to say this, but if BlaBla wants to keep creating this mod, they are going to DRASTICALLY change how they animate things, the game itself is rejecting them. I know they already has the idea that the animations are slow, but they are simply lacking A LOT on that department. Even if you accelerate the animation you can clearly see the many defects it has, its clunky, unimpactful, and not interesting at all. And it's crazy that they entered the mod community with animations and still hasn't improved much. And that is... disappointing... I Really believe BlaBla can improve their skills with time, and make it up for it. There are tons of tutorials on the internet that explain clear concepts of animations that they are missing out on. But if they don't improve on it, I cannot see this mod being worth playing it. Please, @BlaBla012345, Improve. I know you can do better than this. The animations themselves NEED to be shortened or remade through Blender to fit into the game's memory more nicely. There is no function on zomboid that even comes closes to do what you suggested, animations don't work like that. Also the game's modding is coded in Lua not Java. Java is a whole other set of modding that has its own big cons.
almondmommymilkers Posted May 25 Posted May 25 there are probably some compression tricks op could do (as animation files are usually pretty repetitive), but that would just be a bandaid. Op really needs a semi-dynamic animation system, and for that you need it to be a java mod not a lua mod. If you want to make a java mod your best bet is to make it support Zombie Buddy.
