mclericp Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Hi i find that when i loot mudcrabs(only mudcrabs), i get instant CTD. Problem is, what causes ctd on loot? I have skyUI and requiem.
CGi Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Can be caused by high poly meshes, hi-res textures, safety load and the load order you forgot to post.
mclericp Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Can be caused by high poly meshes, hi-res textures, safety load and the load order you forgot to post. ahaha yea load order coming up Although yea i do use safety load. cornbreadtm Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Safetyload causes it. Not worth getting rid of though.
mclericp Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Safetyload causes it. Not worth getting rid of though. if it causes so many random ctd, then i see no point keeping it
cornbreadtm Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 It stops more than it causes. It's like water, you need it to live but you can drown in it. You probably noticed that it happens when you open chests or your inventory when your in combat but never when your just standing around. It's because of the large memory overload that, that causes. For some reason with Skyrim opening a menu gives you a large memory influx, which can lead to the CTDs your having since when you're in combat it already puts a strain on the memory. It's not to hard to just open chests and loot after combat ends. You will see a lot less desktop that way.

I dont open loot or bodies during battles as it is requiem....i would die if i was distracted for 1 sec. I would get ctd randomly, when looting or opening the barter menu regardless of battle. im going to keep it then i guess. I already removed skyrim 2k and SFO as i feel they cause the most in the memory strain. Also, why do i only get CTD at a 100% rate when looting mudcrabs? Somethings not right

Not worth getting rid of though. if it causes so many random ctd, then i see no point keeping it You can set safety load to only work it's magic during loads and not when opening chests and such. If you go into Skyrim/data/SKSE/plugins you'll find the safetyload.ini file. In there make sure it says "EnableOnlyLoading = true". It's set to "false" by default.
CGi Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 i second what gvman3670 wrote.Change Safety Loads settings thru it's ini, as that's what its there for.

Could it be the crab legs and the Hearthfire dependancy?
D_ManXX2 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Read this post: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/24145-safetyload-vs-enbboost/?do=findComment&comment=634090 Are you using Safety load enb boost and SkyUI together ?? I have made this post since it was worrying me that both safety load and enb boost where both changing memory. And after extensive testing i think there is incompatibility between these 2. safety load and SkyUI alone will not cause problems but it is safety load used with enb boost is. open enblocal.ini in your skyrim folder and search for the line named UsePatchSpeedHackWithoutGraphics=false and change that true. and this will make your game no longer crash when viewing inventories or strange anomalies to occur.

Wow i think this might just fix it. Thanks man edit: Now enb doesnt start up. I guess its either safetyload or ENB. I kick safetyload out
D_ManXX2 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 That was just to make sure it was enb causing it. you can still use enb just disable memory management from enb and you can still use enb safety load and skyUI together.
cornbreadtm Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I use SkyUI, Safetyload, and Enboost together. And don't have any of these problems, I wonder what everyone is doing differently...
judge0 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Hialgo Boost & Onetweak, FTW I don't like the resource drain from ENB
D_ManXX2 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 resource drain will only occur if you activate parts of enb that your videocard poorly supports also faulty video card drivers will give you advert effects with enb active.
