kurisu7885 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 So, I converted over to Google Chrome after using Firefox for a long time. Loving it so far ,except that on occasion a tab automatically opens to some unknown site, or in cases I go to open a new tab, say by middle clicking, and the tab is more or less hijacked by one of these sites. I've run my malware, spyware and virus scanners and while they do catch things, this is still going on. It's a minor annoyance but still an annoyance.
TheDriedFinger Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Perhaps, it's just an advertisement. Often, video streaming sites will open a bunch of new tabs or new windows before letting you watch a video.
Rayblue Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Best that you keep both browsers and use add-ons to make sure you don't get interrupted.
Ailsa Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I've never had that problem with Google Chrome - though I think I read somewhere that some search engines have a configurable way of defining exactly what tabs they will open automatically.
