Midwestvest Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 My launcher shows me a red triangle around the mod despite having all relevant files in the mod folder. I deleted it and added it again, but it still registered as failed to install. 1
Velerion Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 (edited) That's because the mod-descriptor-file is broken: not sure why, but when ever you start the ck3-launcher with a mod, the descriptor-file path to the mod gets overwriten with the exact path. So it becomes the exact path instead of path="mod/Homoerotic Faiths" as it should have been. The big issue is that when it is the exact path, it gets broken, as your path to the mod file is not the same except you have the same username and the mod-files are on the same folders: So open the "Homoerotic Faiths.mod" with an editor and replace the content with following: version="1.3" tags={ Â Â Â "Religion" } name="Homoerotic Faiths" supported_version="1.16.*" path="mod/Homoerotic Faiths" Edited May 4, 2025 by Velerion 1

I used a different drive when installing, so a cut and paste won't always work here. This works on any file structure, as the general file structure  path="mod/Homoerotic Faiths"  is always the same. Only after the file was opened with the Paradox-launcher, the directory path get changed to the right subfolder, don't know why. If this was not the case, every time you install a mod you would need to manually edit the file structure manually, and that would be stupid. Especially when the mods are installed in the userprofile, which everyone has a different name. The text i inserted is the file structure as it should be before you open the launcher, so the launcher itself does the rest of the work and change it and should work anywhere. I also use a different drive for mods, that's how i know it. Edited May 4, 2025 by Velerion 1
Shadragon Posted May 5, 2025 Author Posted May 5, 2025 Sorry about the broken .mod file. I could have sworn I double checked it before packing the mod but obviously I fucked up somewhere. It should hopefully be fixed now. 1
Estelrom Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 I love this mod, but I have run into a bug when I create a non-eroticist faith using these tenets. My vassals keep converting away from my faith to Mysticism. Is there a way to prevent that from happening? Thanks!

Thanks! This is due to an oversight on my part, sorry! The Return to Eroticism decision allows characters with the True Eroticist trait to convert back to Eroticism for free (or secretly convert and have it as a crypto-faith). AI will always do this whenever they can, and they strongly prefer openly converting rather than secretly converting. This is supposed to make it so a True Eroticist actually remains an Eroticist, even if their liege keeps forcing them to convert, but I forgot to update this little system when I made erotic rituals available to custom non-Eroticist faiths. The decision was only checking if they had the trait and were not currently practicing a faith from the Eroticism religion, and since the decision couldn't figure out which faith it was supposed to be returning them to, it was just defaulting to Mysticism.  I just released a quick little fix for that. Any faith with erotic rituals will now block the decision, instead of only Eroticist faiths. That should keep AI from randomly converting to Mysticism. 1
joebear66 Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 I had modded Asatru to be very gay, including using one or two Eroticist tenets, and it's been kind of funny watching Scandinavia spontaneously convert to Mysticism. Not sure I want to apply the fix!  😆

RecycledPirate Posted June 17, 2025 Posted June 17, 2025 This mod is great - Thanks for making  it! I had a lot of fun playing as Paternalists and seducing all the hot guys around me into joining the faith.  Being able to shape your form once you achieve divinity is nice (and shaping the forms of those you grant immortality to is a nice bonus).  One potential bug I noticed was that the Renown bonus from Divine Fatherhood seems to scale ridiculously quickly. It seems like it gives a stacking 10% bonus for everyone in your dynasty who follows the faith, which gets very big as the house expands.  Â
LordCeler Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 LOVE this mod! It's almost literally what I tried to do with my own mods and playsets (even down to some of the names, kinda eerie), so I am glad I stumbled upon it, haha. Gameplay-wise I think it's on the easy and OP side, but that is a relatively minor thing in the grand scheme of things. Just please continue supporting it! Thanks a lot for making it.
DaddyPickles Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 For some reason, the tenets are missing from each religion. I had to manually add them with debug. 1
Shadragon Posted November 4, 2025 Author Posted November 4, 2025 Yeah, the current version of HF is not going to be compatible with the current update of CK3. The new update changes the vanilla tenets file, so HF's tenets are going to be broken unless you edit the tenet file to include the updated vanilla tenets. There could also be some other things that have been broken by the update too, but unfortunately it'll be a while before I can start the process of testing and updating the mod to work with 1.18.0. Probably going to be at least a month or two before I can update HF. Â In the meantime, if you want to try patching HF's tenet file yourself, that should fix the tenets. I've attached a file that adds HF's tenets to the updated version of the vanilla tenets file. I can't test it right now, but it should work. Go to the folder that Homoerotic Faiths is installed in, then go into common/religion/doctrines and replace the file there with this updated one. hf_eroticist_tenets.txt 3

I will definitely test out the updated tenet file tonight and report back on how it works for you!  Update: The new tenet file works perfectly, all faiths have their tenets back. Thank you for posting the updated file! I really appreciate it. And thank you for this mod! There aren't enough gay centric mods for CK3 on here, so it's really nice to find gems like this one on here. Velerion Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 (edited) For now, everything seems to work, but i'm sure there are some issues. Thanks for the tenet-file update. Edited November 10, 2025 by Velerion 1
Estelrom Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 If you decide to add holy sites to support play in the East, here are some good candidates I've found for locations: Â Donge (North China) Fuqing (East China) Long Hung (Viet) Banggai (Sulawesi) Â and I have long thought an opportunity was missed in Southern India with Cumbum. 4

Just wanted to say thanks for these incredible suggestions! Though I didn't ever manage to find Donge lol. Funny story with Cumbum, I was actually going to put the Wood Paterlith there originally, but then I moved it to Manikdrug (just a bit farther north but still in India) after I noticed that none of Cumbum's baronies were named Cumbum (which means the site would say it's located in, say, Sriparvata instead of Cumbum). Then I noticed that central Europe was kind of a deadzone and decided to move it over to Forst instead. It's all come full circle now though, with the new Honey Paterlith in Sriparvata, Cumbum.
Akashi_1944 Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 Would be cool to see Lesbian Faiths as well in this mod.

As much as I would love to include that, I don't think it'll ever happen. I did consider it at one point, but I don't think I'd be able to do the concept any justice. I'd need to be able to write decent lesbian erotica for one, but I'd also have to make alternate versions of all the rituals and stuff. It'd take more than just swapping out the Divine Fathers for the Divine Mothers. Simply put, I don't think I have the skills or the time necessary to make it happen myself.

Fair enough, though if any of the large mods like Daughters of Lust of Phaze's various mods are anything to go by, with enough fan support and enjoyment you can get others to help. Â Sadly I'm coding and writing inept.

stypticshark Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Hey! Great mod, the latest update and the new events add a lot. If I'm not going crazy, divine fatherhood and maybe 1 other tenet used to feature reincarnation which is now gone. Was that because of a bug or a design choice, since as a mechanic it does very little? I wanted to play around with that part of it, do you know how I could edit it back in?

Divine Fatherhood was supposed to have the reincarnation effect from the reincarnation tenet, but it wasn't functional so I removed it. The code for the reincarnation effect checks for the specific vanilla tenet, not the parameters on the tenet, so adding those parameters to a custom tenet wasn't actually doing anything other than making the tooltip lie. It was the same situation as with the torture effects on Divine Deviancy, I just forgot to list it in the change log, sorry. 1
