Combinemaster Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 hi!recently I wanted to modify a clothing piece (add stuff to it/remove some/whatever) for personal use. What I do is that I go into 3DS max, and I find, import () and edit the .NIF file that is provided for the clothing piece, I edit it too what I want too it, and then export it as the same nif file and simply over-write (of course I have backups lying around in case of these types of errors) but for some reason, the body parts are missing, COMPLETELY, but the clothing is there, I tried installing the appropriate body mod for it too (being DMRA) but to no go, still missing body pieces I am sure the problem is with the mesh itself rather then my mod list but here is my mod list anyway: Oblivion.esm CM Partners.esm IceElfRace.esm Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esm Mart's Monster Mod.esm Unofficial Oblivion Patch.esp DLCShiveringIsles.esp Knights.esp Luchaire's Neck Seam Concealer.esp Personality Idles - Modified version.esp DLCHorseArmor.esp DLCOrrery.esp DLCVileLair.esp DLCMehrunesRazor.esp DLCSpellTomes.esp EY_AoD.esp R18PN - Lingeries.esp DLCThievesDen.esp DLCFrostcrag.esp Millstone_Farm.esp Alternative Start by Robert Evrae.esp _Ren_BeautyPack_onlyhairs.esp Kaleencolors.esp CM Partners.esp CM Partners NPC.esp CM Partners Extra NPCs.esp YakumoIsle.esp Toggleable Quantity Prompt.esp CMpartnerTifa.esp actors_in_charge.esp DMRASexyGhostArmor.esp DMRA BBB R18PN Lingerie.esp MechaFox.esp EFGAddPose.esp StandingJOJO.esp BasicInstinct.esp bondage_sex.esp shinyEmotions.esp CTAddPose_v_1.esp oblivion_anim.esp Eroblivion.esp CTAddPose_ other.esp CTAddPose_ bondage_sex.esp Hentai_CerenityArmor.esp Slof's Sexy Anims.esp Colourwheels Sexy Tifa.esp _Ren_BeautyPack_full.esp Synx.esp Gizmodian - Eclipse.esp HackdirtTheDeepOnes.esp Nec Mystic High Elf-Remake.esp Hentai_SnowFlower.esp homura outfit HGEC.esp Infinite Charge.esp Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp Lady Anna.esp aion_tegrak.esp yangyang_Oneytia.esp Harvest [Flora].esp k1_CW7heaven.esp GGBDDCW.esp Harvest [Flora] - Shivering Isles.esp Harvest [Flora] - DLCVileLair.esp Harvest [Flora] - DLCFrostcrag.esp Living Economy.esp Living Economy - Items.esp Mart's Monster Mod for OOO.esp Mart's Monster Mod - Diverse Creature Skins.esp Mart's Monster Mod - Diverse Imperial Armor.esp Mart's Monster Mod - Durability & Damage.esp Mart's Monster Mod - Gems & Gem Dust.esp Mart's Monster Mod - Hunting & Crafting.esp Mart's Monster Mod - Less Bone Loot.esp Mart's Monster Mod - Looting NPCs & Creatures.esp Oblivion XP.esp Iron Maiden Set.esp CM Partner Sandra.esp Iron Maiden - Jo's Rest.esp Private Army Beta.esp SM_OOO.esp SM_DLCSpellTome.esp SM_MMM.esp SM_ShiveringIsles.esp LadyFantasyBBBHVer.esp DLCMehrunesRazor - Unofficial Patch.esp DLCOrrery - Unofficial Patch.esp DLCFrostcrag - Unofficial Patch.esp DLCHorseArmor - Unofficial Patch.esp DLCSpellTomes - Unofficial Patch.esp Knights - Unofficial Patch.esp DLCVileLair - Unofficial Patch.esp DLCThievesDen - Unofficial Patch.esp UOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.esp Oblivion Citadel Door Fix.esp Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch.esp Colourwheels Sexy Imperial Legion.esp Lady Flirt.esp Silorn Manor.esp DMRA Stock Robe Skimpy Replacer.esp DMRA Skimpy Armor Expanded.esp DMRA Stock Clothing Skimpy.esp DAFeria.esp CM Partner Destara.esp Mayu's Animation Overhaul.esp xeoex.esp Attached contains my in-game picture, before and afteras well as my import and export settingsbefore:after:
gregathit Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 post the nif file. A quick look at that can help us tell you what is wrong.
myuhinny Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Another nice way to do many of those things is to use nifskope. Save a copy of your installed Skeleton.nif somewhere and use this as the base for every mash-up the skeleton is located in the mesh folder under _male. This file has all the needed bones/nodes. Open an outfit in a new window, right-click on a part you want to use and select 'Copy Branch'. In the skeleton file right-click on the 'Scene Root' at the top of the block list to the left and select 'Paste Branch' then save as. Repeat this for all the needed parts until you have a complete outfit and save it under a new name. Then you can put it into your custom outfit esp in the CS, according to the item slots it will occupy or use it to replace the file that you modified. An additional step before saving is using the spell 'Spells > Batch > Update All Tangent Spaces'. Never hurts even if nothing changes.

You are just increasing the size of your mesh as it now will have an actual skeleton on top of the game skeleton. There is a reason blender doesn't export the actual skeleton out and that is performance. Doing this on multiple outfits will cause a pretty drastic slowdown on your game.
Combinemaster Posted January 1, 2014 Author Posted January 1, 2014 post the nif file. A quick look at that can help us tell you what is wrong. oh, my apologies I knew I forgot something... Attached is the .nif file before and after modification for (hopefully) easier comparison. EDIT: I forgot to mention that this mesh is suppose to be a replacement for the dancer dress from SI. fejeena Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Have not tested it in game but saw that some texture pathes are wrong Characters\argonian\female\footfemale.dds should be textures\Characters\argonian\female\footfemale.dds Armor\SpeedBuster\suicup\bottom01_05.dds should be textures\Armor\SpeedBuster\suicup\bottom01_05.dds Edit: I tested it in game with changed texture path, all fine.

Bit of a dumb question, but how do I edit the texture path? Because in 3DS max I go to the bitmap/photometric path editor and everything seems to be fine in terms of textures, when I go to to the bitmap path editor it displays these things for the paths you mentioned above: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Textures\Armor\SpeedBuster\suicup\bottom01_05.dds C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Textures\Characters\argonian\female\footfemale.dds

My Oblivion is in E:\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion So always start with Textures\..... here the mesh with correct texture path DCMDRoyal_after.nif

Thank you so much for your help, I don't know how I managed to miss that
gregathit Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Honestly you don't want to pick a race specific body texture. If you do then ONLY that race can wear the outfit. What you "should" be doing is picking the imperial female body texture as that will allow ANY race to use the outfit and will properly display the correct race for all.
