vc99vc99 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 If anyone has any really good ones, then thanks!
xiro8877 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 These are hard to come by. Mainly because I can't get into a RPG without understanding the story...and the amount of RPG Hentai games that have been translated completely are slim. With that said. Check out Tears to Tiara. It was originally a pretty awesome RPG hentai game. And there are translations for it. I lost interest because as badass as it was it seemed like the main character was having a bunch of needless sex with a bunch of chicks I didn't care about (I bet I lost serious dude cred there). I was kinda at least hoping for some real story connection with a female to happen before he started banging her. Sadly it didn't seem like that was the case and I lost interest in the game. But it's definitely worth a play. Was a pretty awesome game regardless.
roninvoid Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Utawaremuno (Not sure if that's the correct spelling) is made by the same company as Tears to Tiara. Honestly, I had the same issue with it as you had with Tears to Tiara, xiro. Once the needless sex started it kind of upset me (because I had been enjoying the game simply as an RPG by that point). Apparently it was released on the PS2 without the sex, though.
Evilokami Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Pop on over to ULMF.org and hongfire.com (hentai game section) You can find a few gems in there. im always poking my head in to see if anything new was made.
xiro8877 Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Honestly' date=' I had the same issue with it as you had with Tears to Tiara, xiro. Once the needless sex started it kind of upset me... [/quote'] Yea see I'm all about some hardcore sex in RPGs I was just hoping that for the most part it would be meaningful sex. I guess I was going in there with the wrong state of mind LOL. I would never want to play the game censored since that wasn't how the author originally I intended it. Also...is it just me or is there anyone else that gets furious when they take great ero manga/games with good stories then cut out all the sex and release it as anime? I get so fucking pissed. It's hard enough to find hentai with good story and then when you do find one they cut out all the sex and release it as a regular anime. GRAAAHHGG! For once it would be nice if they would just release it the way it was originally conceived. If they don't have hardcore sex in EVERY for the sake of story I think we'd understand.
radech Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 it's a rarity indeed - the only one if tried that really fits the bill is a module for neverwinter nights called a dance with rogues - great story and usually there's a reason for the sex scenes(which aren't much to look at visually being neverwinter nights one and all, but has some very nice descriptions) it does derail somewhat towards the end of part 1 and part 2 isn't worth more than a single playthrough just to get an actual ending, but by that point it's very far removed from the brilliant beginning of part 1 ps. for modders out here looking for dialogue for a prostitution mod or just generally looking for some inspiration the first part is golden, and begging for a dialogue port.
FusRoDah Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Legend of Queen Opala /thread If It's up to me... No. Too JRPG-ish for me. And I HATE JRPGS.
HentaiGnome Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I like Legend of Queen Opala. It's pretty fun for what it is. It's just that the hentai scenes are few and far inbetween. I can't keep up my boner for that long. I find myself listening to the audio files for gratification instead... (Commendable job done by those voice actresses, by the way. I really like Farah's.)
xiro8877 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Legend of Queen Opala /thread If It's up to me... No. Too JRPG-ish for me. And I HATE JRPGS. That statement makes me sad. JRPGs are the only ones with good stories anymore. Most western RPGs are just combat games with a story that doesn't matter or no story at all. Every few years a game like Dragon Age Origins comes out to prove me wrong but then it's another 5 years before another western RPG comes out that matters. Which also makes me sad.

But I find them Way too Repetive. Let's take Zelda: SAEV TEH PRINCESS PL0X! Next game: SAEV TEH PRINCESS PL0X... AGEN! It's like the CoD of Storylines. It's always Saving something stolen in a green landscape. Turn Based Stra... Turn based nothing combat. (The Gameplay) And not just the story, But the gameplay is repetive, And I hate the Top-down view, and I hate the 'art'. Now Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls, etc. Those are games with Stories and game itself I can enjoy! And... Nevermind, I hate haters myself, So I'll just shaddup.
roninvoid Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Actually, if you do try Legend of Queen Opala, Legend of Queen Opala II (ep. I) was released recently. It seems to be more RPG than hentai. I suppose it depends upon which you're more interested in. I've always been fond of JRPGs (well, RPGs in general, I suppose). Sure, the game-play may be repetitive, but they're still fun and usually have an interesting story.
HentaiGnome Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Would be awesome to play RPGMaker XP games like Legend of Queen Opala on my PSP... But anyway, that aside... So when I find myself doing quests that take hours, such as finding the armor pieces, I get "frustrated" lol. I applaud Gabe for her excellent work, but I think she's really better off making this game as a clean jRPG. Her storytelling and direction shows that she wants to make this a fun yet epic game mirroring those of classic jRPGs back on the SNES, which is fine and dandy, however, if she insists on keeping this as a hentai game, then it should be filled with much more hentai content. (Personally, I've found several opportunities where she could have thrown in some raunchy scenes, but weren't there.) It's as if Gabe tried to take the middle road, but unfortunately, she leaned too much on the side of cleanliness to that point that the hentai scenes looked like they were just sprinkled on as an afterthought (IMO). True, many of the hentai scenes were appropriately placed, but for a hentai game I would think it's perfectly fine to "go all out". But that's just my opinion, of course. Again, don't get me wrong, I think Legend of Queen Opala is a great game. It's probably the best hentai game I've played that was done with RPGMaker XP. And I'm still playing it as we speak. But there's just so much unused potential to be had......

[/quote'] Funny you should mention Zelda. It's one of the few JRPGs that I could never get into. I completely agree with everything you said about that game cause I didn't like it for those same reasons as well as others LOL. However saying JRPGs have the same story in every game is a bit off to put it nicely. But with that said I've found that pretty much any "RPG" that has a lead character yet there are no other companion characters with any real relation to the story just don't feel like RPGs of old. Including the Elder Scrolls and Fable. They're not really classic RPGs to me. I certainly can see how someone would be able to argue otherwise though. And as far as stories go....well I guess it's the lack of depth in western RPGs that bothers me. I can sum up the storyline in each Elder Scroll game down to maybe 5 sentences without really leaving anything out. Same goes for games like Fable. There's just no way to "sum up" games like Final Fantasy X or Legend of Dragoon in a few sentences unless you're just being obnoxious about it. The stories were just too massive. Ironically I feel like I can do this about Zelda games even if there really is a bit more to it than just saving the princess. However that doesn't change the fact that it too can still be easily summed up in about 5 sentences. I guess most western RPGs just miss that depth. I mean I like Elder Scrolls. I really do. The WORLD of Elder Scrolls is FILLED with lore and depth. The stories that take place in those worlds on the other hand....not much depth.
Symon Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I can sum up the storyline in each Elder Scroll game down to maybe 5 sentences without really leaving anything out. I tend to agree with you. These days, western style 'CRPGs' often ignore roleplaying/plot for fancy graphics and combat. However, I do think both Daggerfall and Morrowind (not Oblivion) are a cut above the average, so I'd love to see if I agree with your five line summary of Morrowind. (grin)
HentaiGnome Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I couldn't get into Zelda, either. The only Zelda game that I actually finished was "Zelda: A Link to The Past" for the SNES, and that was only for two reasons: 1) It was my first RPG, and 2) I actually liked it for its vibrant imagery and simplistic gameplay. The story wasn't all that epic, but it was good for what it was and I had fun playing it. For some reason, all the Zelda games that came after that lacked the same appeal that "A Link to The Past" had, IMO. The only other decent one IMO was "Twilight Princess", and even then I've yet to play it. I like jRPGs as much as western RPGs. I think they both cater to different demographics and you can almost see the cultural differences between the two, as in what kind of aspects they focus on and to what degree. I guess it really depends on what mood you're in...

ReMeDy Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 The issue with JRPG's, and most RPG's in general, is they are straight-forward. The game is planned from the start, you have no semblance of decisions to make, and rarely is it true open-world (except perhaps Zelda). Final Fantasy is the biggest culprit. It's like playing out a movie - you know there will be only one ending and you're just along for the ride, but instead of only observing, you're having to constantly use a "remote." Queen Opala was a refreshing game because it offered multiple endings, decisions to make (both good and evil), a slightly expansive world, characters you choose to recruit (not spoon feed to you), and optional content after the ending. It added everything traditional JRPG's are typically missing and gave it to us.
Mud Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 *walks into thread* *sees people calling Zelda an RPG* Wait. Wut. More than a simple JRPG vs. WRPG, I think the main differences are "linear" vs. "sandbox" games. Linear games force you down a pre-established path with certain side-quest branches along the way, while sandboxes let you do your own thing mostly whenever you want - and both have their own pros and cons. Linear games don't have as much freedom in what you do, but tend to ensure most named NPCs you meet along the way will have considerably more development and involvement in the story. Like if there's an Assassin's Guild in the game they'll probably play a part in the story rather than having their own independent story. Sandbox games let you do whatever the hell you want and so have mountains of content for you to see, but that same freedom works against it when you're tasked with saving the world but can just go off and take an in-game month or two to become head of the Thieves Guild or whatever - the stories don't often mesh with each other. And then of course you have games that try to mix the two - like Xenoblade, a Wii JRPG with huge zones to explore and heaps of side-quests, but the focus is still on the overarching main quest. (I heavily recommend that game for RPG fans of either genre, by the way.)
xiro8877 Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Mud that was a pretty good way to split the two. It's just a shame that almost ALL western RPG's are created sandbox and almost ALL Japanese RPG's are created linear. I'd love to see the roles reversed every once in a while and see some western RPG's spitting out linear story driven games (Dragon Age: Origins) and maybe see some Japanese RPG's going the sandbox route.
Guest Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Let me list a few more: 1. Adventures of Garnet 2. Rape Quest 3. RyonaRPG 4. Violated Heroine 5. Despair Labyrinth 6. Grrl Power! All of them are those RPG Maker 2000 type games, you'll find them all at hongfire (the greatest source of Hentai games in the internet as I have discovered recently).

Kyocera Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Only slightly within previous discussion but still a minor derailment if you'll excuse me... Is it just me or is the same design ethic also being applied to "RPGs" these days?
