Planetary Exploration


This mod centres around tile blockers that will spawn on most habitable worlds, clearing them can have a wide variety of effects both mundane and lewd.  Inspired by the old Wild Lascivity mod, I always liked the idea of seeing wild animals interact with your population for better or worse and enjoyed the mechanic of sending out teams to see what they found.

 

It will feature a heavy focus on bestiality but will hopefully branch into other kinks and scenes as it expands.

 

Features:

- Tile blocker with over 100 potential outcomes.

- Over 80 different short, lewd, events, some trigged by exploring others by living on dangerous worlds.

- Situations leading to advanced planet modifiers and sinking deeper into zoophilia and perversion.

- Customized outcomes for a number of specific civics and for every ethic.

- Robot civs will only see lewd events if they have the parts (pheromones or machine genitals/sexbots traits)

 

This mod is tested in a small modpack I use of mainly Ironman UI mods plus LV and every non portrait lewd mod that didn't seem to break Stellaris. Fine a list of mods used in the spoiler below and I've uploaded and Irony modpack if you want to try it for yourself. It's not much more than the lewd mods plus a few extra planet classes I was testing for compatibility but it is stable and functional as far as I can see.

This mod, right here

 

This mod does not have any dependencies, but you will not see any lewd events unless it detects LV is installed.

It shouldn't have any conflicts as it does not overwrite any vanilla files, but Ethics & Civics and other mods that change the ethics are likely to break the lewd event responses and mods that override planet classes may break the blockers spawning in the first place.

Some feedback.

 

I noted that when using contractions, there is noticeable gap between the ' and the letter, for example "it' s" instead of "it's".

 

The event window is so big that I had a hard time moving the window to get to the "a novel experience" acknowledgement. Consider splitting it into two or more sections with added art. 

 

The event itself, the female explorer violated by multi-dimensional was good. I got invested enough that I wanted a follow up story chain to rescue the explorer or continue to observe the creature.

I'm afraid there's not much I can do about the gap in contractions, it seems to be a feature of the base game font, I don't see it on my end and it's not in the raw translation files. I use this mod to get a nicer font which seems to deal with the issue but other than recommending it there's not much I can do

For the event window, I was a little worried the text was too long I deliberately had to limit myself to a single slice of the action rather than writing entire pages for each video since I didn't want what's meant to be a fairly common event to throw entire novels at you. UI Overhaul Dynamic might help, it's what I used for all my screenshots and had active for testing.

I do plan to do much more intense and longer writing for a handful of archaeology sites in the work, but I'm trying to avoid cutting up the common events, that said they do all now have unique art in my own build and hopefully all my lewd events going forward will have unique art. I will keep an eye out and cut them up if it's a common response though.

 

I'm glad you liked that one, I'll likely have an archaeology site or event chain for each creature type eventually that has a lot more detailed story to follow and more room for me to stretch my legs in describing things.

Holy hell, so glad to see Wild Lascivity legacy alive! Best of luck in development and thank you very much in advance.
Explorations and "interactions" with alien creatures was always my favourite part of the game personally, shame there is almost no mods it this department this days.

Hope to see kinky event chains in future, as well as event with planet modifiers, such as; Hostile Fauna/Docile Fauna, Titanic Life, Nascent Locust, Hostile Planet, Untamed Wilds, Crimson Crawlers, Predatory Plants, Invasive Xenoflora and etcetera.

Current dev build has over 100 outcomes from the tiles, twice the lewd outcomes, unique art for every lewd event and, as you mentioned, some interaction with planet modifiers.

 

Currently, it's just setting docile/hostile fauna based on how many rapes/consensual events fire on the planet, but I pretty much have every modifier you mentioned in my notes to add events to. Should be able to add everything before the next update, just currently messing around with Grand Archive and exploring all that new content.

I'm excited about checking this mod out when it's ready. Thank you so much for your work!

I stumbled upon this mod that supposedly allows videos to be played on a diplomatic screen. For testing, I wanted one of this mod's events to trigger a diplomacy screen with a video in it, so I tried following the authors' guide myself but failed since I do not understand much about programming stuff. Maybe it will be of interest to you, since adding actual clips would be pretty cool.

I dont have much else to add, except once more praise the creativity and writing style of the author - really like how this is looking so far and hope to see future updates soon!

Hopefully there are plans for chained events or maybe non-linear events with more than one pop-up screen? 

(You mentioned previously that you did not wanted to throw whole sized novels at the player and limiting yourself to shorter terms - but fear not, for I'm certainly not afraid of longer reads😅)

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words, as requested here's an update ;)

 

With this update I have 90% of the groundwork laid, no big events here but lots of little ones. With any luck I can cut loose and write a lot for the next update, I already have a fair idea of how I'm planning to deploy more in depth event chains, I just have to learn how to code it up, test it, then get writing. So I expect the prototype to appear in my dev build within a week or two :3

So I took a look, I like it! You said to throw ideas your way, how about an event in the aggressive wildlife chain where you can send people to 'negotiate' with an alpha that is coordinating attacks on your settlements?

Thank you for the kind words, I actually had something vaguely similar planned as a progression on aggressive wildlife procs, but I could certainly work that in as a second event chain that may fire instead, good idea.

Yes, it runs just fine without LV, but none of the lewd events will trigger without it

 

if you want to get the lewd events without LV then you'll need to add

 

set_global_flag = lv_events_not_hidden

 

just below

 

set_global_flag = planetary_exploration_enabled

 

in 00_pe_events.txt, that'll set the flag I'm using to check for LV to true and allow the events to run.

For sure, man. I took a look through the files now that I have time, and I can see that you did a lot of groundwork. And the writing is good too! 

 

I wanted to come back and reword what I said now that I've slept, what I'd like to see is something that has more permanent or lasting consequences. I saw the docile and submission tags you had, what were you thinking for those?

For the docile chains I was planning to have events that would add additional modifiers, the planet growing more used to zoophilia before totally submitting to the idea, giving ramped up happiness and society at the cost of pop growth and increasingly lewd and obvious events.

 

In my ideas notepad, I have these ideas listed, but they're just rough reminders for the ideas rather than fully developed.

    Zoo Acceptance Chains
        Zoo party with tolerated zoo
        Family pets with tolerated zoo
        Women going to live with beasts with tolerated zoo
        Public decency act? with tolerated zoo, can become zoo embraced
        Zoo festival with embraced zoo
        Public displays with embraced zoo
        Dog shows with embraced zoo

 

For the aggressive animals I was toying with the idea of the planet becoming governed by or controlled by animals in various ways, representing that mechanically will be difficult but again from my notepad these were my current thoughts;

Surrender to animals chain?
        Add submissive trait to planet pops?
        Remove dominant trait from planet pops?
        Gain worker output at cost of pop growth

 

With both submission and partnership routes, I was planning to use situations to transition from one stage to the next, with a number of events firing over the course of the situation. Using the synthetic ascension situation as a template, a handful of options and events that decide the fate of the planet. I have to dissect how that was done and figure out how to implement it, but it's my next major project for the mod.

 

As for the flags, mainly they're a way to track progression, by having a chance for the situation to fire once I get to a certain flag. But I was also planning on having the larger, more in depth, events be self-removing archaeology sites which can start spawning from the first flag. But again, need to look into how those are formatted and get comfortable using them.

 

I have a handful of other ideas, but archaeology and the situations are the two big things I'm planning for the next update ^^

Sounds enticing! Yeah you do want to be careful about taking too much agency away from the player in the submission plotline. Maybe have a randomlist of events of various things that represent the wildlife effects for that timeframe with penalty and reward, such as imposing a slower army recruitment due to a higher than usual number of women being abducted but this gives you a production bonus for that planet since everyone is too scared to go home; or there is a sudden stop in attacks which grants a stability and happiness bonus but it turns out that an alpha has stowed away a civilian ship and transplanted itself on another planet?

 

Or how about going off of those goblin pictures I saw in the files, how about your colonists being dragged into a tribal war between two tribes or packs? One wants to play nice (docile) and the other wants to enslave (submission)

 

I'm starting to remember why I stopped modding Stellaris... :joy: you have good ideas and I wish you the best!

Haha all fun ideas, and yeah the feature and event creep is real, I get that 😛 I'm a writer by hobby so the urge to just write entire blocks of text before I even work out how they'll fit in game is real.

 

Still, yeah a random list of more enhanced and specific effects for each of the 10 'variants' of wildlife is my rough plan for a starting point, we'll see if I get them all done for the next release but eventually I do like the idea of being able to have different modifiers and tags to denote which species is 'dominant' there and mainly trigger events of that subtype. Probably a while before I have enough events to make that a reality though so unlikely to be in the next update.

Just redownloaded it, and it extracts fine for me, try redownloading the file, sometimes when the download fails it can get corrupted.

 

The only other thing I can think of is the extraction tool, I use WinRar to both zip and unzip it.

 

If neither of them work, then I may be able to help troubleshoot with more details, what error are you getting?

Been loving this mod so far.  I do have a question:  Any plans to add any events to habitats? I know the whole "exploration" mechanic is incompatible since habitats are built not discovered but I could see events where flora/fauna spread/sneak aboard and we get events from them? Been loving the mod overall but there's a lack of lustful events in a lot of the various LV related event mods for void dweller players.

Nothing directly at the moment, that being said it would be easy enough to make some events like that. I'll add it to my dev docs and see what I can do.

 

I know eventually the plans include spreading wildlife, docile or aggressive, to other worlds and once those modifiers exist on a station it'll be eligible for all the normal wildlife events associated with it.

How do you feel about a unique officer leader as a capstone to the aggressive wildlife domination? A paragon, basically. Enhancing the output of say creature related jobs (such as those found in calcifire's trait pack) or perhaps some other output but as a councilor maybe causes a diplomatic weight penalty, as an example. or perhaps some kind of empire wide buff as a councilor but likewise that same diplo weight negative as the other empires recognize youre being dominated by animals?

For the moment I'm not planning to touch leaders, though I do have a few very rough ideas for paragon leaders down the line. I was thinking though of cribbing some notes from the imperial empire from the galactic senate and maybe triggering either a new, special, civic or even an entire new government type being forced on you.

Mmmm I've used both a lot in modpacks and they work better than you might expect but it's not perfect, all the 'recolours' of the base worlds from PD work but the unique worlds don't same for all the extra classes from real space. That being said I already have a note to eventually make them play nice, it's just not a priority until I have enough content to feel the core of the mod is solid.

Well as promised, update in the new year, went back on my previous message about not providing planet compatibility as when I looked into it, it proved a lot easier than expected.

 

Sadly I couldn't get the aggressive animal chain working in a manner I was proud of in time for this release, but that will be my focus for the next update along with a lot more events for both sides of the chain, since hopefully this and the next update will the last major technical updates in a while and I can turn my attention to writing and adding a lot more events.

Hi! I just have two quick suggestions: Firstly, perhaps a policy that allows us to legalize zoophilia, or maybe a special project to do it one way or the other? Also some anomalies or even archaology sites/astral rifts that allow for different interations!

 

Also! Are you planning on adding any interaction with the new space fauna breeding and ship mechanics? I wanna get captured by cutholoids and have voidworms breed entire planets
