Karryn Prison - very good game and if you add mods, lot of fun, you can replay it manytimes.
Claire's Quest - adventure with diferents paths
Ashley the Pirate - adventure with very good story and options

Any games with actually competent gameplay? 

 

Something that is not just a rehash/clone of Incest story. Been looking for an eternity for something with stimulating gameplay and decent visuals. Very much seems like Hentai and gameplay are two mutually exclusive concepts unless you just mod a non-adult game.

If such a list did exist it would no doubt consist of the same primitive basis of game design regurgitated over and over. 

 

I've been searching for years to find something where gameplay even vaguely resembles something worthy of mention. But the sad reality is, 99.9% of hentai games are either visual novels or a loose derivative of IS in terms of gameplay design. 

 

The furthest you will get from that is Bioasshard, a knock-off of Resident evil. I'm pretty sure that is the only title in existence that isn't just a regurgitation of top-down pixel crap.

Yeah, most of them are visual novels, RPG Maker games (I'm sick of them)...or games that have potential but are never finished (and have plenty of bugs)...or are only like...an hour long or something...

Well aside from the ones already mentioned there's also SpunkStock if you like rhythm games, this one's actually kinda good but not really something you'd play after beating the game though. And yes the game design is rather simplistic but that's fine for a game that plays purely on muscle memory and reflexes.

some i really enjoyed the gameplay of recently:

-Iris Chronicle (multiple story paths, combat feels great action-y turnbased, lewd stuff good. one of the few games i actually finished because it was that fun to play.)
-Degrees of Lewdity (for a "daily life" game this one is doing things really well.)
-Portals of Phereon (pretty unique turn based combat and management of characters)

-Operation Lovecraft: Fallen Doll (looks amazing, high quality, but has daily grindy bits for unlocks.)
-Nightmare Knight ~Sacred Maiden & Fallen Magic (story is not bad, combat feels too easy, lewd stuff is good. currently playing this one often to get to the end.)
-The Agnietta ver.1.05 Patch_0522 (combat a bit jank, story neat. i should go back to this and finish it sometime.)
-Lelie Navigation! (good story, makes you feel sad at some point. another one i played fully through because story was good.)
-Lilith's Throne (interesting sex mechanics and theme)
-Naku Kinoko - Humiliation Dungeon Survivors 0.96 (for a brotato like wave fighty game its not awfull.)
-Karryn's Prison (combat good, management side good, side activities good)

-Marle: The Labyrinth of the Black Sea v1.02 (<- played fully through... was fun to play, liked the combat, monsters, lewd stuff, story)
-Treasure Hunter Claire (one fo the oldest in the style of rpgmaker games before "colette", "marle", "detective", "lelie" etc)
-Civilian.Justice.League.2 (has some nice lewd scenes)
-Slave's Sword, Slave's Sword 2 (liked the character and some lewd scenes)
-Summer Memories (pretty chill)
-Nightmare Sphere (great castlevania like game, good lewd stuff)

Princess of Zeven (RPG Maker game, some good scenes, completed)

Seeds of Chaos (An actual game, contains NTR but is also avoidable, good quality art and good writing, not finished)

Claire's Quest (RPG Maker Game, really good, but "not finished" and focuses on several fetishes I don't really like)

Summertime Saga (Good game, I'm not sure if it would be considered finished or not, but still being worked on, very slowly)

I'm working on a game myself. Ephemeral Gate, an RPG Maker game, with Honey Select 2 renders. While I don't know if it is "actually good", it has been a big learning experience. I hope my next game will be a lot better.

Games I've enjoyed (might not be hentai technically speaking)

 

House Party. (3D point and click puzzle-adventure game/party themed life sim, complete + DLC and upcoming sequel.)

Love Ribbon. (Visual Novel, lesbian sibling incest, finished)

Rebel Duet. (Visual Novel, branching paths, unfinished but with regular updates)

 

Both Rebel Duet and House Party have branching paths that lock you out of other endings, along with both male and female player characters. There are many options and all that jazz. Multiple playthroughs to get all the available story paths. House Party is a puzzle game and so things can be completed with enough finesse of the puzzles.

 

Walkthroughs not needed.

 

Oh, there's a DLC for the NSFW stuff (the bits that got them banned from Twitch) in House Party that was originally included until they had to separate it from the base game (but they give it for free on request from what I hear + the older version is apparently compatible (and on as many upload sites as they could put it) but keep in mind that's second-hand info, except for the upload bit; I saw that myself)

(House Party is an adventure game in the context of Monkey Island, which seems to be called a "point and click puzzle-adventure" nowadays, hence my use of the term. It also should have a more thriving modding community, honestly.)

I must be the only one who gets disappointed when people hear "good games" and proceed to rattle off a long list of VN games, which by virtue of being a VN have virtually non-existent gameplay. Those that aren't VN are just clones of clones of clones of top-down pixel crap that don't hold up at all to modern standards of gameplay. 

 

I guess I am just wrong to infer that by "Good games" people don't mean good or tangible "gameplay" explicitly. 

 

However if you're reading this from a more progressive perspective, And are in fact looking for actual gameplay- something with which you could compare to a real game like Fallout/Skyrim/Cyberpunk, I may have something; 

 

Hidden within the dark and moist recesses of Patreon, there is a game in development by the name of Delta Zone - by Devolution. It's a Cyberpunk themed shooter/RPG which actually has competent open-world shooter mechanics with surprisingly good gunplay, physics, upgrade systems and H-content. Built on UE5 it is visually quite stunning. 

 

The main drawbacks in my opinion is that the world is yet to be fully fleshed out. But that is understandable as I estimate it to be roughly only 50% completed. Still it is easily the most enjoyable H-game I have ever played. It plays like an actual game, so much so that the normal gameplay is possibly better than the H-content. I've put about 130 hours into it in just a few weeks. 

 

Something to note is that it is a hardcore themed game. Has permadeath option and you also lose stuff when you die. Some actual consequential gameplay. One thing that I hope will get implemented is the ability to toggle the AI mode to always attack the player. The current situation is that most enemies will just try to rape you, but a few will just outright try to kill you. This leaves some holes in overall balancing of the game if you wanted to approach it more like a pure shooter/RPG. 

 

Ultimately there is nothing like this. Never has there existed a H-game so rich in actual tangible gameplay. I have not found anything even remotely close to it in all my years of searching in terms of scope and complexity of gameplay mechanics. RPG and quest elements appear to be in their infancy, but there is still enough there to offer over 100 hours of thrilling gameplay similar to what you would find in Cyberpunk/Fallout. Cyberware and gun building is top-notch like it was pulled from a AAA title. Visually it's awesome, even though the level design is rough. 

 

Highly recommend it if you want something beyond VN's or Honey select style games.

I like Succubus Academia and highly recommend it. It's got nice attention to detail.

It has a basic plot point that no succubus can be just... killed. So you're not going to win because you can't. You're going to reach the succubus and your goal is to satisfy her so she just leaves.

Two things:

1) In the gallery, you can use a "Love" combat style where the character is enjoying what's happening to him. Remember "attention to detail" I talked about? It may just be some lines but every enemy has comments when you use it. The only penetration happens against bosses and they also have unique dialogue if you lose immediately upon insertion (literally when the battle begins before anything happens). 

 

and 2) this game has guest characters. Succubus characters from other works pop up and they are pretty faithful to their depictions. Example: Alma Elma from Monster Girl Quest with her "Prison" mechanics.

I've probably spent more hours playing Last Evil than any other adult/hentai game combined other than modded Skyrim.   It's a Slay the Spire derivative game (IMHO, I actually like the gameplay better than Slay the Spire itself), with the main character and combat being very sex themed.  Some sex scenes during combat as you seduce creatures into sex to take them out of the combat for a few rounds while you fight the remainder.    The sex scenes are a bit cartoonish, with low poly count bodies and not very high frame counts, but there are a lot of them and mostly pretty hot.  Every enemy has at least one 3D sex defeat scene, and a variety of events lead to other sex scenes. 

 

Really wish the author would do a sequel or another completely, but he seems to have disappeared a while back.

If anybody could point out some games where the sex is part of winning? I hate defeat sex games cause I'd like to progress and get sex scenes. RPGs that let you use sex as a combat winner are bonus points or anything that let's you be free roaming and doing stuff. Lmk!

Scarlet Maiden is pretty good on steam.

They have other content, but it leans into other things that I care less for (furry vibe?). 

Flip Witch on steam is also great, but I haven't been able to play it that much

Karryn's Prison absolutely falls into this category.  The hostile encounters are divided into two segments.  In the first segment, Karryn can use either her weapon skills (or unarmed melee, which is weaker but still viable) OR her sex skills to win the battle.  If she makes all the enemies cum before she runs out of stamina, she wins the engagement.  If she loses this first segment, then begins a disadvantaged battle where she only has access to sex options and she cannot see the enemy roster, including their arousal/cum meters, so she's basically "flying blind" in a bad state.  However, you CAN win even this second battle.  (Some skills can be targeted which will temporarily show valid targets in the roster so you can kinda cheat a bit.)

 

The largest issue I have playing it so far (just about to start my second playthrough because I borked my first one, lol) is that you're constantly short on money.  After the first couple days this becomes a major bottleneck and the early options to gain more income don't provide enough.  Later options are good but come with other upgrades that are effectively mandatory to reduce rioting on the first 2 levels of the prison, all of which drastically increase your expenses and cancel out the increased income.  There IS a balancing act here and you CAN make it MOSTLY balanced, but you simply never have anywhere near enough cash.  After a week you're going to be spending only half your Edict Points (aka upgrade/technology/etc points) because you have no money.

 

As Watermelon said above, it's WAY better with mods.  If you want to maintain balance there's a couple that allow you to drastically increase the income from the "side jobs" (waitress in the bar, stripping in the strip club, yes a prison has those because of course it does lol) so you have a way to make money on demand without outright cheating.  Of course, there's also a cheat mod that I used shamelessly because IDGAF about super-serious management sims.

 

In any case, yes you can win Karryn's Prison via sex.  In fact, it's much easier to build for.  Focus on Stamina, the two Edicts that give you skills to restore stamina, and the skill that lets you restore energy during the mental phase, and Karryn becomes effectively invulnerable during the sex fights, able to "out heal" any stamina damage she takes for a very long time.  Regular combat has a tock-paper-scissors thing with blunt/slash/pierce attacks.  Sex fights have none of that, you just have to make all the enemy's pink bars fill up.

I helped with the integration of Lovense toys for Karryn's Prison.  If you have any toys, I can promise you a fun time.  As others have said, the developer, Rem, is a fantastic person that focused on making a quality game, then adding adult content.  Mind you, it is common to "fail" the first playthrough.  It takes a bit of metagaming for the "best" endings.  However, I used to steam it, and I would argue that there are very few better games than it available right now.

as for good ones:

Didnappers 2 is a pretty good game! its an RPGMaker RPG (doesn't contain sex though, just lots and LOTS of bondage scenarios.)

Last Evil is a card deck battling game which can actually be quite fun and addictive! (and has lots of sex for the succubus main character if you lose!)

Huuma Mina (and Huuma Mina 2) are also pretty fun games!

The previously mentioned Karryn's prison has an outstanding combat system that is fully tied into the erotic content. So does Pray game... I'd even say that the combat might be a little too hard in both (But very satisfying).

 

Pure Onyx is a very polished beat em up with extraordinary defeat animations though it's still early access. It is definitely too hard though (But still really fun)

 

Not really a hentai game... just has cheeky nudity but  Crawlco block knockers is a super fun arcade experience. 

 

Burning High The Warrior of Fire is a FANTASTIC megaman clone with pixel sex shenanigans.

 

The Dead end and The agnietta are great dungeon crawlers, though the latter is very buggy and has an overly complex ux.
