The clothing and body models are far beyond my expectation for immersion. The complete lack of official CK documentation and Wise's restrictive licenses as the only (and overcomplicated) way to mod voice and sound into the game have robbed me of all motivation. Starfield modding is a sobering experience. Bethesda wants to control the modding scene. Not with me. only recently got into Starfield and downgrading and all that stuff. sucks to see another talented modder go, Best of luck with future endevours.

Latest modding tools like SkyPatcher, OAR and Power of Three Tools opened many doors for me. 4
kaitlin86 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 The Nexus Mods user Mielu91m is actively making a replacement for NAF and it's dependency. Says it should be ready for upload potentially within days. They're posting updates to it on the NAF pages comments
The Khan Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) I hate to butt in like this but being personally quite ill and tired, might I trouble you for the exact steps from sheer vanilla with no nexus, to set this mod and enjoy it? I once enjoyed skyrim but Bethesda's modding tyranny got me confused. Can anyone help me? DM? I'd be very grateful. So far I dont even know If I should add Vortex or Nexus... I use Mod Organizer 2 its a bit to get alot of the Adult Starfield stuff going, as you have to Downgrade the game, then find other mods that are requirements, and find old versions of those as well that work'd around the time of..... I think it was November 2024,

So that the animations play in the new version of the game?
zaira Posted April 15 Author Posted April 15 No, I have completely dropped Starfield modding. Bethesda doesn't provide CreationKit documentation The existing body models and outfits are boring The Wwise dependency is a showstopper for me. The efforts to add sound compared to Skyrim and Fallout are terrible and the Wwise license model is not non-commercial modding friendly.
Travestea Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) The worst part is that there is documentation. It exists. It's just reportedly locked behind the verified creator badge and an NDA. 2010s Bethesda: "Here's all the documentation, for free, complete with a bunch of tutorials from our devs." 2020s Bethesda: "You gotta be approved to access the documentation and we're also going to take down the documentation for the old kits. Fuck you." Edited April 18 by Travestea
zaira Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 My guess is that Beth want to keep the mods under their control: They are likely not amused about all the NSWF activities
Travestea Posted April 19 Posted April 19 It's more likely they just want to make money on mods and they need an incentive for people to join their program. Exclusive access to kit documentation would be a pretty big perk other than the money aspect. I don't think they care in the slightest about the NSFW stuff, and probably even realize it's one reason Skyim is still relevant. Where they shoot themselves is that in order to become verified you have to submit a portfolio of work. How is someone going to get a portfolio to present if they don't have the tools to learn the kit properly? I'd like to learn the Starfield kit, but in the time I spent trying it was both familiar enough and different enough that my Skyrim kit knowledge would only work about half the time and things are a bit too complex for me to deal with reverse engineering. I'll just go back to Skyrim.
