Kraven12 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 And it's greatest enemy are trees. Cannot tell you how many reloads I had to do because of Trees and the occasional rock. Can't get out boosting, sometimes fail to bail. Think I agree with some, this is a moon buggy or desert hopper. Not built for planets with vegetation.
DocClox Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 thoughYeah, I took mine for a spin on Jemison. Spent half my time unsticking from trees and from rocks that I couldn't see end account of the trees. It's quite fun in first person though.

Not built for planets with vegetation. So let's start a campaign on Youtube and Reddit demanding that Bethesda put horses in Startield. Horses don't get stuck in trees. If Skyrim had horses, why won't they exist in Starfield too? I'm starting this campaign now! Bethesda, I hate you!!! And I won't consider stopping hating you until you put horses in Starfield. 🙃 Edited August 25, 2024 by brown66

brown66 Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 (edited) It was a joke! I honestly thought Bethesda would put something more modern, like a vehicle that worked by canceling gravity, like what happens in Star Wars. But no, they had to put wheels on it, to satisfy the whining little children who litter Reddit and YouTube. I'm just amazed that some of these little kids haven't started whining for a Camaro or a Lamborgini yet. Edited August 25, 2024 by brown66 1
nIn nIn nIn Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 I've been saying a speeder bike star wars style - but not fast - Skyrims horse pace (trot and sprint) with additional cargo space. Posted in their discord suggestions thingy (can't call it a forum - it's effing discord). Disappointed we got a "dune buggy" instead. That said, looking forward to seeing how high I can get it on a low G moon. 3

Or maybe one of the bikes from Warhammer that Astartes ride on. Those are pretty cool. 4

Don't you mean we got the 'M35 Mako IFV' from Mass Effect? The damn thing handles like a 'drunk rhino' just like the Mako did. So BGS is back to their old tricks of 'stealing from Bioware'. 3

At this point I welcome them stealing from companies that do "space games" better.

Well, in any other case that would be true. But the M35 Mako didn't handle well at all. And the rover... Well it's more 'flight' than 'Drive'. Because most the time you are airborne while in it.
Mr. Otaku Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 So i've been driving around the buggy a lot, it's much better than i was expecting it to be as far as physics and handling goes. I didn't enjoy the mouse steering too much but i know they primarily designed it to work with controllers so i see why they did it that way. Still too snappy tho, so i used a mod to disable mouse steering. I like that it's also weaponized but i was hoping for more weapon options like ballistics and even explosive rounds. Hopefully with future dlcs or mods. One gripe i have is that a lot of planets are too rocky so it's kinda hard to drive full boost in a straight line for longer than 2 seconds, except for the icy planets that are relative smooth. Also great that it has vertical boost. Overall, very pleased with it. It looks fucking cool too, especially the honeycomb airless tires. Makes sense too, you don't want air tires on a buggy that has to handle all kinds of extreme temperatures and conditions. I do want bikes tho, a dirt bike in that same aesthetic would be really awesome. Maybe even allow us to do wheelies and shit lol. Another thing i would like to see someday hopefully is other NPCs driving vehicles around. That would instantly make the world feel more alive. Come on Todderino give us that good shit. 1
DocClox Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 I will say, Rev-8 takes a lot of the pain out of temple hopping. Instead of landing and "It's all the way over there!", I just I hop in the buggy and I'm there before I know it. Would still prefer a grav raft though. Preferably one with a cargo capacity and a remote summon feature. 2

Another thing I wish I had seen implemented was the possibility of Rover only being placed on the surface of the planet if, before we get out of the ship's commands, we'd push a button. Whenever I see Rover automatically parked at the ship's foot, after landing on a planet's surface, that's for me most of the time a breakdown of immersion, because when looking at Rover, I have a feeling of something wrong, as if that vehicle was not something done by Bethesda. In many of the time I'd rather take the course on the surface of the planet on foot and in those times I don't want to always see Rover parked next to the ship. However, I like to drive it, when I choose to use it, and I especially enjoy being able to look at the female company sitting next to me. I wonder why...😇 Edited September 12, 2024 by brown66
nIn nIn nIn Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 Looking forward to the jiggle physics. Shits and giggles.
