OSEX Vs Sexlab?

Quick question, So I was exploring Nexus mods and diving back into Skyrim when I noticed the OSEX mod and various add-ons like Romance, NPC autonomy, etc. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here ever tried out that specific mod and its add-ons? What are some of the positives and negatives? Bugs and difficulties? I've seen the screenshots, and it looks interesting, but I'm hesitating because I know I'll have to go through my mod folder and start a new game seeing as currently everything is centered around Sexlab.

In my experience Osex is so good, animations are great, transitions and everything, you can change pretty much every aspect of an animation and start/end it whenever you want, in your case I recomend you to start a new save, deactivate (not uninstall) Sexlab, pick a partner and try it out. Regarding the add-ons, overall they are good, some are limited, like the "dual wielding" but whats available on that add-on is good stuff. You gotta use an special menu for it, but youll get used to it sooner rather than later. If I gotta look for downsides... Osex automaticly changes the dick size so depending on the couple races there can be cliping, also the camera can get bugged in a similar way than in Sexlab, but if any problem you have an exit hotkey option. In a few words is worth trying.

From what I've seen online, the animations do look better however, I'm not sure how easy or hard navigating the scene would be. What's causing me to hesitate is the potential drama I've heard about in the comment section. I'm using mods like eager NPC's, sexlab defeat, etc. And for the most part I was able to find substitutions for them on Osex but Osex, to my knowledge, is designed for tender romance. Which means that some of the spicier content, like some of the things on loverslab is unavailable. I was especially interested in the ORomance and ONights. It's been a long-term project of mine to try and improve my Skyrim's social life, so to speak, but I keep hearing that some mods don't work due to lack of updates and infighting among mod creators. I downloaded everything so I'll probably give it a shot and start a new game when I have some free time just to see for myself. Thank you for the advice. 
 

Edit: After downloading Osex and whatnot I discovered that Ostim has a standalone version that looks more recent and possibly compatible with Sexlab content. Looks like I have to do more research. Have you ever used that standalone version?

Osex doesn't have an equivalent of Devious Devices Framework nor does it have any sexual slavery/rape/corruption/bestiality/niche kink or any significant quest mods that woould utilise sex mechanics as necessary part of the gameplay loop. At least none that I'm aware of or are worth mentioning. It's all just plain, old, boring consensual sex. That, by default, completely takes it out of any consideration. Yes, animations are nice, but so are CGI videos on rule34.

No, I havent, but you can try it out and compare, I sure as shit cant cause im playing on Legendary Edition and after search seems Special Edition exclusive.

I started with OStim....switched to SexLab and have never looked back.

Too many required mods that either didn't work, caused CTD's, or were just there because they had to be as I never used them.

Honestly.. the fact that a picture like this is even needed is why I've never seen OSA as a competitor to SexLab... 

 

OSA/OSEX gives great control but requires way more fine tuning and knowledge to use finely, to the point that I see it as more of a hassle. 

SexLab, once you install it, just works and does the ding dang thing you want it to: animate people fucking whenever you or another mod wants.

 

OSA/OSEX is great for making cinematic recordings, but IMO, is lacking when it comes to simply being horny.

Sexlab, does the horny stuff, on demand, quick and easy.

You are probably right, but the one who started this asked for info about Osex, im just giving it away, plus is not about competition here, you can use one or the other depending on your daily preferences, right now im mainly using Sexlab but theres no reason not to try or use Osex since is a great quality mod and quite unique as well BTW nice profile pic ¿is AI generated?

Indeed. That is what mods such as the Sensual Scenes Adaptor and OStimLab are for, after all.

Sexlab can be used for the more specialized niche animation types while OStim can be used for more complex interactions between humanoids if that is what one desires (if one does not just use it to redirect OStim exclusive content to use Sexlab animations since it goes both ways or if one does not wish to use the automatic mode for OStim which renders all animated interactions 'hands-off').

Yeah, that's one of the main drawbacks I'm noticing. From what I'm hearing I'm preferring the simplicity of Sexlab's mechanics however, I've been trying to drastically improve my Skyrims immersive social life for a while now as well as add some NPC sex autonomy. For example, I'm not a fan of some of the simple approach and ask for sex. I like the idea of courtship, talking, flirting, possibly marriage, then sex. So, I tried looking for mods that helped out with skyrims dating and autonomous NPC sex for a fun and immersive playthrough. I'm currently using mods like Eager NPC's for seduction and mods like Further Lovers Comfort to add a cheating consequence should I neglect my Skyrim wife. Then I stumbled on Osex/Ostim and saw some of their addons that looked appealing. For example, ORomance, ONights, or OStim NPCs. However, I love the fact that my Skyrim load has negative consequences for losing fights like Defeat, Slavery, etc., but I noticed that most if not all of Ostim is entirely vanilla. While that has its perks, I like having negative consequences. In my opinion in makes the game a little more interesting.

With all the different versions out there, do you know if "OStim Standalone" is compatible with sexlab and specifically FNIS. Currently I have several animal animations installed and apparently the animation system that's required, "Nemesis", won't load any animal animations. Do you know or heard if it's possible to run both FNIS and Nemesis in the same game?

Yes, OStim Standalone is fully compatible with Sexlab. If one uses the Sensual Scene Adaptor that I linked above, one can even choose which framework will handle animations at any give time if one wishes to swap between them for humanoid character animations. You could just use Pandora instead of FNIS or Nemesis. It will load creature animations without any trouble.
