Rokabur Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Is there anyway to give an honest comment about a mod on Nexus without getting banned by the Nazi's who run the site? I want to give an honest comment about a certain that claims to be way better then what I got from it but I still want to be abkle to download what few mods are worth it from the site. Mod I want to give a comment about is (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32597) Only difference I saw after using the mod is that fights take atleast a minimum of 5 minutes longer cause of how much I keep getting thrown in the air and into trees and rocks like a ragdoll. I actually spent more time watching my character being flung all over the place then actually fighting the dragons.
myuhinny Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 The best advice is if you are not sure if a comment will get you into trouble or not. Is to not post many of us use the nexus as nothing more then a download spot go there download leave and rate if the mod is good and nothing more. Better to do that then to give them ammo to shoot back at you with. Also just looking at that mod make me think joke mod type just from looking at the screenshots.
RitualClarity Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 If you don' t have anything nice to say .. don't say anything That is the old motto and is very true for the Nexus

Also just looking at that mod make me think joke mod type just from looking at the screenshots. yeah that mod is a joke, claims his mod improves the AI of the dragons making the fights more random and therefore better, all I saw was being flung around like a ragdoll for about 60% of the fights. Only dragons I've had trouble with are from (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11206) Dovahkriid - The Dragon Lords. 800+ Armor Class on my character for the 80% damage redux to physical attacks and on Legendary difficulty those dragons can eat through more then 400 HP in a single hit. The armor made from the scales of those dragons look cool in the different colors but have way higher Armor Class then the vanilla Skyrim Dragonplate and Dragonscale armors. Current heavy armor set I'm wearing is 920 Armor Class without tempering it to Legendary.
Rokabur Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 If you don' t have anything nice to say .. don't say anything That is the old motto and is very true for the Nexus I would say something nice but there's nothing positive to say about the mod.
RitualClarity Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 If you don' t have anything nice to say .. don't say anything That is the old motto and is very true for the Nexus I would say something nice but there's nothing positive to say about the mod. Exactly. If you want to stay out of trouble on a site especially Nexus stick to endorsing and commenting on the great mods that are there as much as possible to help drown out the dribble and crap that is also available. This will help those that have done a great job and keep you out of the frying pan. Perhaps when you have 100's or even 1000's of post there on great mods others will start to follow and use the mods that you are suggesting. There is a way to get around almost any block or restriction by doing what you can do... I only post on the mods that I find indespencible and why I like them. (different user account than LL. ) I have been there for years and have absolutly no issues or problems with any moderator or modder or member there on that site. I post when I feel the need and following the above I have no worries that I will be banned or even PM'd about the comments.
hryh23k9823u Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 That shit is always down anyway, who cares if no one is gonna read your post there~
Gᴀʟᴠᴀɴɪᴢᴇ Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 If you don' t have anything nice to say .. don't say anything That is the old motto and is very true for the Nexus Unless you have a constructive response. This old "motto" isn't always true, sometimes in order for things to be improved, you must point out the ugly, but the nexus doesn't seem to understand this nor recognize it whatsoever.
Spyder Arachnid Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 If you don' t have anything nice to say .. don't say anything That is the old motto and is very true for the Nexus I would say something nice but there's nothing positive to say about the mod. Then don't say anything at all. Simple as that. Ignore the mod and move on. Tell yourself this: Is it really worth risking a ban? There is plenty of amazing mods on the Nexus. Don't risk your account just because you want to give someone "a piece of your mind" and say something that doesn't need to be said. If you don't like it, move on. Don't bother "hating" on it. Just leave and ignore it. It's much better than getting banned and then losing access to everything the Nexus has to offer because you just couldn't let it go. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart.
MissyB Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I agree, with the above post, but i agree with you on this mod completely. All the dragon battles became annoying as hell, i thought i was fighting giants the way i kept getting flung around. I'd get tossed off a cliff, spend 5 minutes trying to walk back up to the dragon, only for the butthole to ragdoll me right back off, rinse and repeat.
D_ManXX2 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 It totally depend on how you put it, if just say this mod sucks. then that is trolling and off you go. You can still give honest comments like this mod broke my game, and put as much prove how much the mod broke your game and they cannot to anything about it. previous version of civil war overhaul really broke my game at first i was reported and my post deleted and account banned, but when i proved to the moderator how that mod really broke my game they un-bloked my account, and apology given. But if you attack a moderator then there is no excuse you will be gone permanently.
RitualClarity Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 If you don' t have anything nice to say .. don't say anything That is the old motto and is very true for the Nexus Unless you have a constructive response. This old "motto" isn't always true, sometimes in order for things to be improved, you must point out the ugly, but the nexus doesn't seem to understand this nor recognize it whatsoever. True but many don't want to hear the truth or improve themselves and wish to live in a farytale land. Those individuals will never pay attention or make any effort to improve themselves. I am sure everyone that reads this knows of some individual(s) that fall into this category. Nexus is full of them. I for one have better things to do than waste my time helping someone that don't want the help. Namely coming here and helping LL people...
Guest Mogie56 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Constructive, truthful comments are unwanted because they mean something other then "It's the best mod ever". They take the "If you can't say something nice don't say anything" phrase and go to the extreme with it. I don't comment, endorse<-(is a sham) or speak/type to anyone. Download once in a great while. Nothing more. This kind of Elitism has taken over many websites over the years, Nexus isn't the first nor will it be the last. As long as you have the "I'm better then you" type of mentality that is in such an abundance there, it won't change anytime soon. Best bet is to download and move on, why put yourself through the hassle.
jimdandy28 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 There is a vast difference between whining about a mod that you do not like and pointing out actual problems with it. If you had actually read the description the "being flung about" is part of what the mod is supposed to do. One of the points of the overhaul is to not be in melee engaging dragons, and to make playing ranged much more difficult. At those things it does pretty well. Personally I do not like many of its changes either, the summon and limit break effects are way to over the top imho, and I had no problems telling him so. I stick with Deadly Dragons and some tweaks I made to their combat packages.

I expected to be flung about some but 2/3rds of every fight with a dragon involved watching my character flying through the air like a ragdoll and after landing on the ground my character taking 10 seconds to stand up and the dragon wailing on me the entire time. As for fighting dragons at range, not very good since you can't back up very fast. I usually just end up standing in melee range pelting the dragons with a bow while taking the hits. Anytime the dragons land its either right on top of me or far enough away that I have to sprint to them.

Again, staying away from the dragons is part of the point of the mod. The last 40ish minutes of this video is Gopher staying away without issue: While you may not find that play style fun, that is on you not on the mod.

I'm not running into melee range, the dragon is coming after me faster then I can back up. Guy in the video must be using certain mods cause when I fight dragons they don't stay at range like that. Soon as they land if there aren't any other creatures or NPC's to take their attention they make a beeline straight for me.
Guest Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 The way I see it, if a mod has little or no real potential I won't bother commenting, seems little point when you don't have any investment in it's future, it'll die a natural death if it's that bad.. If I like it and can see potential but can't get past some major problems with the current version, I don't see anything wrong with offering constructive criticism, after all it's in your own interest. The problem is knowing whether the Nexus moderators or the author see it the way you intended it. They do seem pretty fiercely protective of modders, but then I've seen some pretty unfair criticism coming from people. Some of those guys have their own serial stalkers who go after every mod they make with negative comment, and that sucks ass.
D_ManXX2 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 you have speed shout use to get out of the way of the dragon. The dragon scripts where so that they see the dragon born as major threat and will purposely chose too land next too you or above you. Also fighting dragons due too this will force you to fight them differently. Now you actually need to be with more people in order to win against dragons. Also some have a nasty surprise. like firing flame balls from the sky if you are not careful Also what version are you using ?? i think the latest version 9 makes the dragons freak out to quickly when you hit them a few times. Try version 8 or previous versions. Also you need the animation named faster get up. it will speed up vanilla get up animation. Or else this mod will be unplayable the original author even recommends it.

The problem you describe I have never had. similarly, everything Gopher uses is in his video description. Worst case, have you searched the comments, or asked about it? Phrasing the issue is just as important as the issue itself. Instead of taking a blaming tone, ask if it is working correctly and explain the problem.

There probably are mod conflicts but no idea what they might be cause not a single mod I've downloaded state what they might conflict with. I've been wondering if its mod conflicts or just Skyrim that causes certain NPC's of the factions you join to start trying to frag you on sight. • 00 Skyrim.esm • 01 Update.esm • 02 Dawnguard.esm • 03 HearthFires.esm • 04 Dragonborn.esm • 05 Falskaar.esm • 06 RaceCompatibility.esm • 07 BBLuxurySuite.esm • 08 HjakhtraevarrTomb.esm • 09 mannyBlackRock.esm • 0A mannyDragonhead.esm • 0B moonpath.esm • 0C ORS_MorthalPain.esm • 0D ORS_SolitudeGate.esm • 0E phiNoFF.esm • 0F UndergroundBathhouse.esm • 10 portal2mod.esp • 11 Brawl Bugs CE.esp • 12 dthkhajargtailremoverclothes.esp • 13 Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp [Version 1.3.3c] • 14 RaceCompatibilityUSKPOverride.esp • 15 Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp [Version 1.2.4] • 16 Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.esp [Version 1.1.2] • 17 Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp [Version 1.0.5] • 18 all_stone_powers.esp • 19 autoharvest.esp • 1A AV1Dragon_Lords.esp • 1B bag of holding.esp • 1C prometheus_beastskeletons.esp • 1D DungeonQuestAwareness.esp • 1E harvest more food & ingredients.esp • 1F Instant Merchant.esp • 20 LustyArgonianMaid&SultryArgonianBard.esp • 21 moredragonloot.esp • 22 Perks Unbound.esp • 23 Perks Unbound - Guest Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 This is all academic anyway. Nexus is currently a total pile of shite, seems to be getting worse by the day. Still, good to see those new features getting implemented....pfft.
Rokabur Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 Anybody recommend a good mod that increases the difficulty of all mobs including dragons? Even on Legendary difficulty most enemies aren't much of a challenge. Only tough mobs are the dragons from (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11206) and a few of the vanilla mobs cause my Fire, Frost and Shock resistence are at 70% but my magic resist isn't even 20%.
