e3sucks Posted December 24, 2025 Posted December 24, 2025 To anyone still trying to get the "Hypno_Harrassment" quest to trigger: I may have just gotten lucky, but I have spent hours trying to get the random NPC thing to work in all of Skyrim, and no dice. BUT, I recently started a game with an alternate start mod, starting in Raven Rock in Solstheim. I talked to all of 3 people before a person randomly came to me trying to hypnotise me. This has literally NEVER happened before, but it makes sense since I literally haven't been to Solstheim since installing this mod. TL;DR: TRY RAVENROCK/SOLSTHEIM!

I don't personally like Solstheim that much and tend to avoid it these days on playthroughs. I'm curious, does this jog the mod out of its issues? Do you now get events back on the mainland or does it still only work in that zone? I'm thinking about re-installing it and just forgetting about it and maybe I'll get lucky, but still really hoping some kind soul who has the knowhow will fix it.
MaccyMattolon Posted December 24, 2025 Posted December 24, 2025 This is a fix for random events. I only tested it in Whiterun, but I confirmed it works for both NPC to PC and NPC to NPC interactions. Ideally, I'd like an experienced modder to refine it, but it should work for now. Please give it a try. SkyrimHypnotist1.2_Harassment_Fix.zip 1

Pancakes2 Posted December 26, 2025 Posted December 26, 2025 I haven't seen anything yet, maybe I'm just getting unlucky. If I was good at modding I would pick this up myself and add new content, hopefully someone experienced will pick this up and continue it

Perhaps it's location specific; or a red herring, I have no idea.

It may also be that Whiterun is smaller and you can more easily see things, while Riften is larger and has 2 levels, so events may be occurring in places you're not looking?
Pancakes2 Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 Maybe I just need to uninstall and reinstall. Would that reset the quests too so I can do it again? I don't want to make a new character
Senick2 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I installed it and the fix quite a while ago, I had one event trigger in the College of Winterhold, and saw a single event (fail) between NPC's in whiterun and since then, hours later, haven't seen any more events trigger (NPC or PC)
The Gearheart Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Curious if anyone might upload a video somewhere of getting hypnotized. What mod did you use to turn the dark elves into Khajiit? Also curious if anyone would upload a video of getting hypnotized happening, whether the quest with J'zargo or the extremely rare random encounter...

Edit: They're also going after mannequins. Edited February 5 by Desiree42

That's bad, I have a child remover installed, I'd recommend this one, https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/56942 its funny and it just completely removes the risk of potentially BAD interactions. Also do I need to override the original mod with this one to get the fix to work or does the original mod need to be first in the load order?

Yes you need to override the original mod. However I had to start a new game for it to really work. 1

MaccyMattolon Posted February 14 Posted February 14 (edited) This is a fix to exclude mannequins and children. Please try it. SkyrimHypnotist1.2_ChildandMannequin_Fix.zip Note: This includes the harassment fix I uploaded earlier. Edited March 4 by MaccyMattolon 1

QueenMaker Posted March 13 Posted March 13 (edited) OK SOO dose my lvl matter / should i start a new game for this?? EDIT::::F4 is the debug for it SL Approach might interfere with it Edited March 15 by QueenMaker
Feldspare Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) The player hypno event just seems very buggy. I only ever saw it trigger once and it triggered on the wrong gender even though I had same sex disabled in the MCM. It probably needs some more MCM settings to control the chance that it triggers as well as fixing the current settings... Edited March 17 by Feldspare typo 1
Sara Blackheart42 Posted April 18 Posted April 18 So, after having this for a while now, i wonder if there is a way to increase odds to be approached cause it hasnt happened yet
Sorasueme Posted April 19 Posted April 19 So idk why, but I have the book and I can do the hypnosis event, but no npcs hypnosis me. Also the only MCM options I have are in SLAL. Now idk if it actually works yet because I have nothing into my speechcraft rn. But I will further test.
Pancakes2 Posted May 29 Posted May 29 (edited) I'm wondering if these patches and the mod content only works for female PCs if you don't do the quest line. I find NPCs never accept me hypnotizing them after unlocking it from J'zargo, and even with the patch installed I can't get interactions to occur, though maybe it's because I installed the patch on an existing playthrough?? I wonder if there's a way to make it work with an existing save. Since the author clearly isn't coming back, someone needs to pick this up and continue it, I DMed the author a while ago with questions and ideas but no reply after a couple months Edited May 29 by Pancakes2
