GruderGrudd Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Mid-game (while completing dragonborn quests, the time you climb the mtn to talk to Paarthenax), the player character just suddenly doesn't do animations anymore, and when checking debug on SL, it says [player name] is flagged as forbidden from animating. Anyone else encounter this, and what do you do to fix?
heilhobo Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 install any mods recently? Usually the only thing that causes that is the player getting flagged as like a child or some shit
GruderGrudd Posted May 30, 2024 Author Posted May 30, 2024 No child mods being used at all. Most recent would have been Beeing Female and all the recent addons. I have been using SE and generally pretty careful about adding stuff and quick to remove mods that don't work when I get a CTD on a new save. I can't code or make mods but I have become pretty comfortable with how Vortex works. Never figured out how to look at or change load order with Vortex though. I have heard though that since MS bought Bethesda, they are creepily and quietly editing code of SE and slowly trying to derail the modding community. Anyone else notice this flagging, and how do you change the PC or NPC's flag once the game changes it mid-game??

Bemerkt noch jemand diese Markierung, und wie ändert man die Flagge des PCs oder NPCs, wenn das Spiel sie mitten im Spiel ändert? O.M.G. of course, with every update of their operating system, MikroSoft also introduces modified files for the games - which they acquired through various company takeovers... we all know that

As I said, I admit I am not great at understanding how everything works and maybe I need to run the downgrader again and change the location of the program folder this time... otherwise I have been pretty good at troubleshooting and I have never asked for help before, I usually figure it out. Still, no one has actually been able to explain how it's possible for the PC or the NPC to have their animation status changed mid-game. It shouldn't be possible, unless there are hidden commands to change it in the console. Do these commands exist?

Not enough details from you, too many possibilities to fuck up. Help with rare or individual errors are even harder to solve if it never happened to one-selves. Did you try an older save if the flag persists? What mods do you have that would add something/effect the quest to reach the mountain top? Anything stuck during the gray beard trials? Did you check your save with fallrim tools for errors? > left overs from modifying modlist during your actual game > excessive amount of active scripts > stack dumps a lot Edited June 5, 2024 by donttouchmethere

That is pretty basic and the info is readily available. Well so far you have given next to no information about the problem other than the player stops animating. Do you mean sex animations or all animations? Is your PC male or female? Do they have any active effects on them? Can a follower or NPC still animate? Are you running LE, SE or AE?

GruderGrudd Posted June 6, 2024 Author Posted June 6, 2024 Thanks guys - I will try to answer everything: Started as a dude on 1.5.9.7 SE. I have always used to have both FG and SL running without problems. I completed the Jenassa quest and she became a lover and she was left at one of the houses that was built (my home is your home mod). Up until the point before going to talk to Parthenaax, all SL functions worked, from initiating SL scene from conversation (Charm), to Mass Match Maker (with box checked to choose actors). To answer one of your questions: the issue does resolve when I go back to an old save. So, what I did initially was go back to an old save and I decided to keep SL debug mode running so that I could check all the notifications every time some SL thing triggered. It seems that no matter what, the PC always gets quietly switched from valid to invalid actor for SL animations, and I could not track any kind of command from debug that points to the why. To answer another question - no T-pose, purely just that the PC cannot be a part of SL animations anymore. Whenever I tried to start SL animation once the glitch started, it was as if the PC wasn't there - so let's say Charm dialogue is used with whoever the follower was - they either agree or not, they get paid or not, a scene type is chosen... and then they just walk away and nothing happens. When I use Mass Match Maker on that same NPC, and choose PC for a 2-actor anim, only the NPC is included and instead do some solo animation. Group anims can still be initiated using MMM with NPCs, PC always gets filtered out, and the debug notes can be seen that say that PC is "flagged as forbidden from animating". I should also note something that happened before Parthenaax after I re-started from a previous save - I was running around wilderness between Winterhold and Dawnstar, and randomly saw Jenassa meeting a NPC called "Jenassa's Client" or something, which I thought was weird since I never saw it before. I decided to add her as a follower from there because I thought something was wrong, and I had to pay her 500 coins again (even though her quest was all done). I then kept doing the Dragonborn quest and later tried to initiate SL scene with Jenassa... and then debug mode said that JENASSA was now flagged as forbidden...! And as I noted before, I have never seen this happen, and the only new mods that I added to the mix recently was Beeing Female and all of the additional upgrades found on LL. No devious quests running because that mod is not installed. This occurs I guess after greybeard trials since it's right before seeing dragon..? There were no problems with greybeard trials, I guess except for one of them taking their sweet time to finish shouting at the PC to finish his rite of passage (just delayed, not stuck). I have never used fallrim tools, but that sounds like something I could do if Beeing Female is creating a bunch of data dumping. I am not sure if PC was stuck in a quest scene. Finally - no mods that I can see that mess with the mountain top. Another thing I should mention: FG animations had no issues during glitch, I was still able to initiate FG anims, just no SL anims.
heilhobo Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 random question because I ran into this fuckin issue as well. Do you have the subtle nutting animation mod? idk why but that flagged me the same as your having a while back and it really doesn't seem like something that would be a cause of this so it flys under the radar

gghhjj666 Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 Did you ever get it to work? I got to around level 5 with a character and all sl animations had worked perfectly fine but all of the sudden when an animation were suppose to start nothing happens at all. No teleporting to eachother stripping or anything so its not a FNIS issue. In the console it told me my character is not a valid actor for the animations. I also use cursed loot and it did at the same time give me a popup telling me a mod is removing important tags from child actors and therefore will disable itself. I tried making a new character but the issue did not go away.

The problem started after using BeeingFemale - something might be wrong with that mod, and it seems to happen after a certain number of saves

I found another thread with stomeone having the same issue and reinstalling scoe fixed it. No clue why though.
