ElaboratePseudonym Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 I am not hyped for this or any other game. I have found it best to wait, watch and pay 10% of new game price 3 years+ after release for an actual complete game outside of any current trend bubble. However, this is only a statement of my opinion and if you enjoy participating in the hype game, why should you care what any random internet weirdo thinks? 1
Grey Cloud Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 First I've heard of it. No idea what type of game it is though looking at the image I would guess it's not for me.
adoiad Posted April 19, 2024 Author Posted April 19, 2024 It's a medieval rpg with a heavy emphasis on immersion and historical accuracy and the first game was very fun and unique imo. I hear what you're saying about not getting hyped for games as they are prone to disappoint and I would typically agree with you. This is a rare instance tho where I think the hype will be worth it and the game will be great, if the first game is anything to go by. Warhorse studios and KCD really are outliers in the game industry, KCD was very much like a game from a decade+ ago, back when games were released finished, with the primary goal of being fun and not shady business practices like microtransactions etc. That is why I'm hyped about KCD II. It's a game like out of the past, and I'm all for it.
adoiad Posted April 19, 2024 Author Posted April 19, 2024 It's certainly not for everyone either, that's for sure. I understand that many won't care for this type of game. I personally tho am very hyped as KCD is a very unique experience and while I don't get hyped for games usually, I will for this and I truly believe I won't be let down or disappointed, fingers crossed.
NickNozownik Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 First one was kinda fun. No opinion on the second one since there are no long gameplay videos of it yet. Getting hyped over it is like being overly excited while watching advertisement. It's probably going to be good. Probably.
adoiad Posted April 19, 2024 Author Posted April 19, 2024 Man, tough crowd. Am I the only one on this site that has a bit of optimism for this game that genuinely seems promising. Like, I get that people are wary after so many bad and unfinished games being released, but I made this post more for people who played and liked the first game to express if they are looking forward to sequel or not. Wasn't really my goal to provoke a bunch of skeptical naysayers into telling me I'm wrong to look forward to something I think looks great, sheesh.😐
adoiad Posted April 19, 2024 Author Posted April 19, 2024 Plus, they did show multiple short clips of gameplay. It's not like I'm getting excited for a 30 second teaser, they showed quite a bit for a release trailer.

If it's mediaeval then why isn't the guy in the image wearing mediaeval clothing? The mediaeval period lasted approximately 1,000 years (c. 500- C.1500 CE) so good luck with the historical accuracy. Not that film, TV or video games have a great track record when it comes to historical accuracy. The mediaeval period, historical accuracy and 'fun' would make strange bedfellows. 😃 1

Idk why you are in here shitting on a trailer you obviously didn't watch...

Okay, and I don't think that's the case here. This post wasn't made for you or other negative people. I created this post to see if anyone else is looking forward to the game as well. I certainly didn't make the post to be controversial or be told I'm wrong for looking forward to it. I simply wanted to spread some positivity about a topic that I personally like, what is so wrong about that? You guys are way too negative, if you disagree with me, fine. I know not everyone shares my opinion and that's okay, this post obviously wasn't made for you. To come in here and shit on my opinion is frankly rude. I respect your guys' opinion on the topic, all that I ask is you respect mine and not to bother posting if all you want to do is spread negativity, that isn't what I made this post for.
Kanerah Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 (edited) Looks like KCD + ( which is fine by me). First one was like a mix between Witcher/Chivalry/Skyrim, with not quite the same highs, but also more immersive and probably best realized medieval setting in a video game. I do wonder how they will handle Henry again as main character. One of best parts was seeing him grow from 0 to hero, peasant to knight, and it was implemented through story as much as through rpg systems. It really felt satisfying to earn your progression. Will they reset his skills, so you have to start again? But that wouldn't work, personality-wise. Enemy level scaling would be even worse. Edited April 19, 2024 by Kanerah 2

I think huge amount of scepticism is warranted when it comes to studios like Blizzard, Ubisoft, etc ( and Bethesda)..but Warhorse does not have any scammy practices, I wouldn't put them in the same box. That said: my own experience with central/eastern European & Russian rpgs is they are more janky, buggy, technically unpolished on release, but also have more gameplay/rpg depth, ambition and personality/charm. 1

I haven't played another game that was equally satisfying to grow and get better both in terms of myslef as a player and the mechanic within the game. I do hope KCD II can match that same feeling of satisfying progression.

Ehh I wouldn't care for it myself but not necessarily opposed to it either. I like the singleplayer rpg aspect of KCD and I'm not sure how a multiplayer would fit in and I definitely couldn't see warhorse doing it. Singleplayer is just what works for KCD. When I want a multiplayer medieval experience I go to Chivalry II or Mordhau. Those are completely different games tho.

FauxFurry Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Maybe someone should hand out these shirts whenever another video game hype cycle starts?
