I'm feeling dumb.

So it's been about 4-5 months since I was last able to play thanks to a computer malfunction. I've got things mostly back up and running except for an embarrassing issue that I should know how to fix but can't.

 

I'm playing a female character (Actually, I'm testing out Daughters of ARES, pretty cool mod) and every time I try to have sex the men are nothing but disembodied heads and hands. Women are turning up fine. I've tried with no body replacer and with Breezes New Vegas males. I've got bodysuits installed, and the male_erect.nif in the right folder and still no dice.

If you are using Breeze Body's for your male people, then I would try to install it using the FOMOD/FOMM version. It sounds like you are either missing the meshes, or when SexoutNG calls for the "Switch" Clothes for Body it has no body to reference. In this case install the "Extra" body parts that come with Breeze's mod, Erect, flaccid and underwear. I have no personal experience as of this writing with SexoutNG, but soon will be working with it and TTW to see how it all works and pans out.

 

Ok done with the obvious, since you have all of this tried , true and done . Is Daughters of ARES handling the sex animations or is SexoutNG? It could be a simple animation conflict, this is quite common, at least for me it is. In any case , what initiates the dialog, sex animations, etc. Is probably not seeing the body, male_erect.nif, or is not firing at all to make the switch.

 

I would look at a possible load order conflict , etc. first, if you have done this already, then there has to be a malfunctioning script.

Load order now on the OP. I've run it through BOSS, ran FNVEdit and made a merge patch, and am using Prideslayers improved FOMM. If there were a conflict I'm pretty sure I'd have caught it by now.

Ok, I removed everything, validated my game cache, reinstalled everything, and men are still invisible during sex. I even installed Breezes erect, leaving all dead men creepily turgid. Dead stripped men are visible and erect, live men getting laid are invisible. I.m starting to get annoyed.

At 134 plugins plus whatever is in mergedpatch I'd say there's a good chance you're past the limit, some people hit it at 100 and others get to 180, the theoretical hard limit is 255, time to make some choices on what you really want installed, you probably need to remove at least 10 plugins or do more merging. But I don't see much I'd merge in that list. There's also a limit on the volume of Meshes & Textures installed in the Data folder, no one knows what that is for each instalation, but when you hit it vanilla stuff may start disappearing.

Well, I'm removing quests I've already played and a few extras. I've never liked Breeder or the Tryout series, and as I'm playing the Daughters of ARES race mod, pregnancy doesn't make much sense for a robot. Lets see if the guys reappear.

Just making sure from you OP that the male erect body is in \MESHES\Characters\_male and that it is named upperbody-erect.nif and not named male-erect.nif, and that you also have upperbody.nif (non-erect version). Just throwing some ideas out as this is how it is in my game.

Just Upperbody-erect, not upperbodyMale-errect? If that is what it is I am gonna feel so stupid.

Yes just upperbody-erect.nif, works for me with sexout in Fallout 3 so I imagine its same in NV. Base non-erect male body in game is just upperbody.nif no "male" designation.

Well, tried that and removed a bunch of plugins I could do without, and I'm still humping Genie from PeeWee's Playhouse.

Finally fixed it. I removed Breezes completely and reinstalled Sexout Data. Im thinking I need to remove the core sexout files from the Compilation, make people install those independantly before installing the rest to avoid this issue in future.
