Hardtits Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 Hi, i just want back to Skyrim after years and i want to complete all achievements, i would like to know if mods disable achievements (i think not) and also i want to know what version should i mod, i want good looking characters with some sex mods. Also if it's there a guide to put some essentials mods will be nice.
Just Don't Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 (edited) Guides are in a pinned thread. Â You can patch achievements to gain them even in a modded game. Which patch to use depends on which version of the game you want to mod (I'd say simply go with Engine Fixes, but that method doesn't work with the latest versions of the game, instead you could use this one, you can and should still use Engine Fixes, but edit its config file to disable the achievements patch or all your mods will be disabled when you launch the game). Â Which version to mod is also highly dependent on the mods you want to use. There are some mods that have never been updated since 1.5.97 (and some people choose to stay on that version because it's the last one before all the Anniversary updates). After 1.6 (anniversary updates) you have 1.6.640 as a kind of stable version, but current version with almost full support is 1.6.1170. And those numbers are only for Steam. There is also GOG which has its own versions and dedicated SKSE. If you were to start from scratch right now and you already have SE on Steam I'd say stick to the latest version (1170), get the correct SKSE for said version (an easy find in the official skse website) and make the habit of checking if a mod contains DLL files, because these are the cause of mods being compatible or incompatible between different executable/SKSE versions.
