Modding potential for YS 10?

Ys X does use the same engine as Kuro no Kiseki, but there are still differences so the same model injection tools won't work without updates. The person who made the Kuro injection tools said he'll try updating them for Ys X once the English PC port is out.

I didn't play the game, so I can't make sure the mod is completely fine.


I don't have much interest in this game, after all, the game's graphics are so old it's hard to get interested in playing it.

It's hard to believe it's a 2024 game.


I made this mod mainly to test if I could make a mod for this game.
Since I never saw anyone release a mod for it, I wanted to give it a try.

 

I used @amorrow28's KuroMDLTools tool for the mod, and I'd like to thank amorrow28 for that.


Of course, since KuroMDLTools was developed for Kuro and not YSX.

So there will be some limitations and problems in using it, but it barely works.

For the graphics, it's just falcom be falcom.

 

For the mod, there are something wrong with the hair at the beginning.

I got it.


I removed too many things, including the hair ties.
It's been modified.

It also works well on PS4. I also personally DMed you the PS4 kuro2 model with the files, and I would really appreciate it if you could make the model for PS4.

Extract and copy the MOD file "asset" shared by the author to the game installation directory, and replace the same file to make it effective.

Is it possible to base a mod off of this official skin?

I feel like there isn't much that needs to be removed, and the skin tone can look quite natural by basing off this.

Here is a port of my lewd / nude mod for Ys X: Nordics (NISA), repackaged for the CLE Asian Language version.  It uses @lakovic's amazing nude mod (from CS4) - thank you to lakovic for giving us such an amazing mod, and for giving me permission to make mods with it!

 

This mod is for PC - Nintendo Switch version available here.  Also, this mod is for the Asian Language (CLE) release - NISA version here.

CLE_YsX_revealing_mod_v2.0.7z

 

This mod includes:

  • Revealing versions of Karja's standard outfit and her pirate princess outfit (both variants).  These replace her original outfits, so that they show up in every cutscene.  (The game automatically gives you all costume variants as equippable items.)
  • Fully nude Karja.  This equippable costume can be unlocked from the DLC menu, or purchased from either Holger or Ezer.
  • Five NPCs in revealing clothing:  Rosalind, Mirabel, Phylleia, Jörð and ????.

How to use:
Copy the contents of the ys_x_mod_files folder into your Ys X folder.  Unlike the NISA version which has P3A support, this version does not come in 3 parts.  Of course, you can separate the files yourself if you do not want to use the entire mod. c0xxx files are Karja, and anything c1xxx / c2xxx are NPCs.  c00xx are the base costumes and c0310 is the extra nude costume.

 

A .kurodlc.json file is included for generating tables (and for combining mods).

 

Note:  @woofhat also made a nude mod for this game - please do try out his mod as well!  It is available above.

 

Bonus:  I have included an optional mod that can be used to change the toon ramp maps to the maps from Trails Through Daybreak instead (for PCs and NPCs, but not for animals or monsters).

If you like this look,  just copy the contents of optional_kuro_toon_ramp_mod into your Ys X folder and it will change all the characters to the Daybreak look.

Would you mind trying something? Restore your game to working state, the use only the files in “asset/common/model” and “asset/dx11/image”. Please let me know what happens.  (Edit: I looked at woofhat's mod, and the mdl files and textures seem similar.  I suspect it is either my .mi files or my .tbl files, so I want to see if just using the models works.)

I tried to put only the common/model and dx11/image and update my game to 2.02, still stuck at the startup.

 

Edited: I tried jmedia7's mod, it is functional. the malfunction of @amorrow28's mod may caused by the naming of the texture of the skins
