It's rude and violates the First Amendment for us USA residents. And here is what "I" could do with a discord name and DOB. I could set up a bot to randomly contact you to hack your discord accounts. then use that account to contact your friends and hack their accounts. I could siphon money from these accounts using the info discord stores in your user data. if you have nitro I could use that to get your credit card info and drain money from that.  

that is what "I" could do if I looked up a how to video somewhere on the internet. with just a Date of Birth and a discord name.

Not saying I would do that, but someone less afraid of legal action might do just that. discord bot scams are nothing new and sadly are not going away. between blackmailing you to crypto locking you and ransom ware, there is a lot that can happen with just a date of birth and a discord name. people more evil than myself (I am a Pathfinder GM after all) can and will use this info to steal money from you and anyone who offers the ID's. on the low end of small claims court, I could sue Orlin for $10K just for false advertisement due to the fact that other than ONE model screen shot, they have shown no other proof their 'mod' is even in any shape of development. 

It can't even be called a mod at this point as right now it has not even formed from the conception phase.  Adding more fuel to the legal bonfire this is turning into, Orlin is spending more time replying to these posts rather than working on the so called mod. And if they have no intention of posting said mod on Lovers Lab, then frankly, the mod is not worth getting if you have to put your accounts at risk just to see a screen shot of the base game model with maybe 6 to 8 hours of work making nipples on it. 

Anyone willing to make a quick trip to legal zoom can find what they need to sue the mod maker and shut them down for good. meanwhile, the other four mod makers with a following are quietly making real mods and putting them out for free on nexus and their discord in the time it took for Orlin to make their first thread that got locked to the time of this post I'm making. Orin doesn't even have a working mod for the base starting clothing yet and other modders already have from the starting base no armor clothing up to refined metal armor. 

Instead of offering empty promises, get your ass to work to make a working mod and post it on nexus, or here and then people will see that the mod is in fact real. On a side note however, I'm a big booby lover and the model shown to prove the mod is underway has rather small tits. (anything smaller than DD cup is small to me.). so my personal interest in Palhub is to the point I'm going to just ignore it and wait for someone with better time management to put out more pal mods with nicer tits.

the game is still early access so for all we know, these mods will be broken and need to be reworked with each and every patch update. I will now step off the soap box and I invite anyone else to debate what I have said. I, for one, can admit if I'm wrong if facts and proof are given to show I'm wrong.

I love how their reasoning is "we want to keep minors out," but even before the ID verification being lifted, the first thing you see before the ID verification is chillet with semen all over its face in the server banner. 

now in order to be a dev or an admin you need to be verified. fortunately I don't have any skills so I'm not planning on it, but who's to say they'll just say "hey, in order to download our mod, we need to verify you ID" IF they have a mod.

as for people saying "it's only DOB," the following can be found from the example they provided in their server on what the ID verification requires without reverse image searching:
- The ID is from New York (from the mark on the card)
- Forgot to mark the name on the right, so their full name is visible (Michelle Motorist)
- They're dark skinned

- their username (+ full name and DOB. hmmmmmmmmm)

- They have a Lifetime Empire Passport, lifetime fishing, and trapping license.
- and their birthday.

Some people could probably find more info from the obvious fake ID and fake image since I'm just a regular person without any detective skills. like someone else said, people can gain more info by looking at the metadata, reflections, etc. 
just knowing their name, DOB, and where they got the ID is already a big threat... Sure, it could just be a "mistake," but ID verification opens up an opportunity for the "mistake" to occur.

Well, at least the ID verification isn't as important... for now.

I am in the Discord. And I, hesitantly, did the ID bs. Was it dumb and a huge risk? Yeah. Do I recommend people do it? Fuck no. 
I took a dumb gamble, made sure to black out basically everything on my ID that wasn’t mandatory, nitpicking every last pixel to make sure there is nothing that could even be slightly gleaned from it, took a screenshot of the image, duplicated it, edited it again, then screenshotted that and sent that in. 
Once it was verified, I deleted the message I sent. Would that do much in the grand scheme of things? No, they could’ve just saved the image. Even then I went to lengths to make as destructive of an edit I could, so oh no! They have a piece of plastic with a date on it. Shock horror.
 

Nothing happened. I’m just as broke as I was before, I didn’t get any random messages from any bots saying they’re holding my monkey collection hostage, all that happened was I stayed in the Discord. 
 

The ID bs isn’t even mandatory for the discord anymore, it’s just for if you wanna apply to be an admin or some shit, I forget. Oh, and an exclusive chat that went to shit the moment it was made and I muted regardless. 
 

Yes, I took a gamble with the ID thing and in the end it amounted to nothing in both regards. No, I’m not saying anyone should do it. I’m also saying the only way people fall for those sorts of actual Discord scams is because they’re so brain-dead that they click any random link they get sent. I’ve been around for all manner of discord scams and exploits and shit and I haven’t fallen for a single one because I’m not an idiot. 
 

Regardless of my own bickering and reasoning, it doesn’t matter anymore regardless, so yes. I am telling people to shut up, especially now that it is a total non-issue. 
 

It’s a first-amendment right to bitch about shit that doesn’t matter or can be avoided, but it’s also my first amendment right to tell people that they’re acting like children and complaining about tired bullshit that seventeen people have already complained about. 
 

I’m sick of this thread and am gonna continue lurking in the discord for updates. That’s my current stance.

I'm pretty sure asking for personally identifiable information goes against the discord TOS. And the fact they have recently been in court for their promiscuous ignorant activity and behaviour I don't think that would stand. - No, it is not illegal to ask for someone's ID to confirm their birthdate.They are free to ask for it to interact with you, you are free to say no and go elsewhere.

 

- No, it is not against discord TOS to ask for someone's ID. If it is, show me, and I'll happily admit I was ignorant.

 

- You can set every channel in a discord as NSFW, so first time members have to confirm a 'are you 18' check.

 

- Minors will get their hands on the mod no matter what steps you take. Everyone here was a horny teenager at one point and knows its laughably easy. While I appreciate the attempts to keep the mod away from minors, the ends do not justify the means here. I'm not comfortable sharing my ID with a stranger on the internet for a porn mod, so while I wish you the best of luck, I'll not be using your mod if they isna requirement.

FYI: In germany it is illegal, to scan the ID Card and give a scan to someone else - and it is illegal to ask for a copy of the ID Card.

You are loosing many users because this ID Card Topic is not realy common/legal in other countries and cultures.

This discord server is a bad idea and stupid, I understand the "Verify your an adult" but this isn't the best way to do it or the safest way at least. 

This whole mod thing is best to just have someone start work on it and then show what they got like that one mod that has shown that they made it where characters will interact with each other and play an animation, it's the ground works and with that others who want to contribute and can will hit then up and help out. 

Trying to make a dodgy server that hasn't got anything and from the sounds of it is just someone wanting a sex mod and throwing a server together in hopes it kicks it off or they can push their ideas in to whoever makes the mod. There probably will be a sex mod for this game, hopefully a good one with a lot to it that other mod creators can add, but this isn't the way. Same as with a game, it's best for someone to start work on it so they can show what they have done, showing that there is something to actually put effort in to and not just a concept with nothing to it. 

To anyone who hasn't picked up on it already from the rest of the people saying it, don't join the server, just wait and if you are capable of making the mod yourself and feel like doing so then make a good show build that you can show to others who then will want to join in.
