t3589 Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 The terminal's just blank for me, debug option doesn't seem to do anything, not seeing anything related in the console. Maybe my install of Vegas is borked somehow? Which NPC specifically? Latest version of SexoutNG? EDIT: Fresh game tested. No problems here.
Seraphi Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Did a fresh install of NV today, just to see if that would help (not being able to solve something drives me insane) downloaded each requirement, making sure I had the latest versions, installed using FOMM. Tested each of those mods individually, which all worked fine. Installed this... and same results. I spoke to most of the listed NPC's and then a bunch of randoms, the only NPC that had anything custom to say was Doc Mitchell, which was a blank "banter greeting" dialog. He's also the only person that seems to register anything in the console (compatible, include, etc) Nothing else seems to trigger this. Are there specific steps I should be taking once I use the control terminal? Tested on my usual clean saves and a new game.
t3589 Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 Banter dialog means they are incompatible. So either A. Doc Mitchell was in the initial stages of being processed, and therefore was 'temporarily' labeled as incompatible. Or B. Doc Mitchell was incompatible. Are you walking? Do you have a sidearm equipped or drawn? If so, WALK don't run. Unequip/put away any weapons. I haven't been able to recreate this problem so I'm guessing it's something simpler. Also, if you're using a sprint mod, walk means explicitly walk. The only NPCs that will process while you're running are gangs. EDIT: Are you playing Male or Female PC? What do you have the player sexual orientation set to in SexoutNG MCM settings? Straight/Bisexual/Gay? EDIT EDIT: If all that fails, I'm beginning to wonder if SCR is causing some issue. I'm using the beta SCR and Preg. Going to try and drop back to stables and see if I can recreate it. EDIT: Nope. Stables start up fine for me on a fresh game.
Seraphi Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Finally got it working, phew. Definitely my end, and something with the way I was installing NG/SCR. I can actually see stuff happening in the console now as well. I was strutting all over Vegas before so can rule that out at least. Sorry for all the hassle, can chalk this one up to me being dumb! I'll be sure to thoroughly test it now however, and hopefully give some decent feedback as an apology.

Who ever heard of hassle free testing? Even when it's on your end, these reports still give me a chance to go over things. While examining your issue, I found 2 mistakes of my own and corrected them. So nothing lost. Update in the OP. Danky.
BoondockSaint Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 small req: could you tell, lets say, in the second post (the 'changes' one) every new REL when a cleansave is needed or when you simply can overwrite the esm & esp? TIA

t3589 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 Update in the OP. Tons of changes and additions. Lot's of unfinished ends that need tied up as I build up the framework surrounding prostitution. Some more of the dialog unlocks are getting applied now. ie. You need the Easy Lay/Sex Maniac rumor or at least 3 lovers to unlock 'trade sex for gifts'. Stop Sex is where it is located (among other things). More to come. EDIT: If you get them to say yes to a present, you can stop sex again and ask for it up front (if they trust you, they will. Otherwise, it will piss them off.). If you get the gift first and then welch on them, they'll go cold on you. Just Argue with them and it will remove cold automatically for now because it's unfinished.
BoondockSaint Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Will do. Cool! Actually nothing to report. v24 and v25 worked fine for me. At least what I tried. Having in mind the last updates, when do you estimate this mod is ready for the 'downloads' section?

Having in mind the last updates, when do you estimate this mod is ready for the 'downloads' section? I don't know. I've changed my mind several times. I'd say once the main accounting system is back in place. Though there are many things to expand on, most of the framework is in. I can't think of anything left to do off hand besides prostitution, which I'm slowly working towards. I'm already starting to wander off with ideas for fun stuff. So, shouldn't be ages.
AngryFace Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 The new version is looking good! I had one small hiccup: Sunny got stuck on a 'doActivity' flag for a while. Had a date right around midnight and the flag got set a little after 12. Then I updated. She wouldn't process it for a full game day, but she finally asked me to hang out after we cleared Bison Steve together the next night. She executed a 'doFlirt' and a 'doAffection' just fine during that period. Dunno if this is an actual bug or an oddity from not having a clean save.
BoondockSaint Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Something to report: During a date, I let the NPC choose the activity: she chooses 'go for a walk'. Inmediatly, a 'provide' menu pops up. What? I gave her a cigarette pack, her response: thanks [sarcasm]. Do I have to provide anything for a walk -a crutch maybe?- or Its a bug? Also, when choosing an activity during a date, when giving the NPC whatever she asks -food, alchohol...-, the NPC finish the date. I'm on a cleansave, what can be wrong?

She executed a 'doFlirt' and a 'doAffection' just fine during that period. Dunno if this is an actual bug or an oddity from not having a clean save. Fair warning. Using debug as a cheat sheet is heavily unreliable. Actions can be stacked and stored. So when you see a 'do' listed in debug, don't punish yourself by standing there waiting for it to go through. It could come through in the next 30 seconds or never. That being said, you're probably right about the clean save. Respect tracking is now in and it REALLY changes the way things push through. Sometimes I still get no goodbye dialog at the end of activities. I haven't had it happen yet with this copy with appearance debug in it though. As of right now that's the bug that is bugging me the most. I've been trying to pin it down for several copies now. Thanks for the report.

A walk should not open any trade menu at all. Giving items should not end the date either. Are you staying near them after you give them items?
t3589 Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 Ok try this new one. I think I may have straightened out the problem with providing. Regardless, activities were definitely broken in the last copy.
t3589 Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 Update in the OP. Incompatible dialog is now in. You're supposed to be able to have short conversations/activities with incompatibles, then over time wear down their convictions. Once this happens they'll turn Bi and become compatible. At least, that's the intent. Virtually untested. Tips: Be careful how you handle them. It takes a light touch. If you're too forward, you can put them off very easily. Each success per game day decreases the odds of them returning another success that day, and increases the odds that they'll return a negative. This can blow away all your hard work in one shot. It's a matter of knowing when to hold em and fold em, so to speak. Also, gang stalkers have now been enabled. If you have the game pace set on high, beware while in gang land. It can get ugly fast. Safest bet is to take along a companion or travel with your sidearm out while they can spot you. EDIT: Fixed some problems with incompatible activities. Re-uploaded as 29.
t3589 Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 Added mixed orientations located in settings. When set to 'Match' it performs as it always has, respecting the SexoutNG player orientation to assign same sex NPC orientations. But now you can set it to 'Mixed', and opposite sex NPCs will also respect the SexoutNG orientation setting. In short: Match = Roughly 1/10 same sex NPCs will become compatible. Mixed = Roughly 1/10 opposite sex NPCs become incompatible also. Finally got to test the lovers competing function when Easy Pete (lover) went over to the GS settler I had been talking to, and told her off. lol This gave me a chance to add more detail to the compete scripts. Now they view competition through the lens of their own orientation. Straights target mainly opposite sex competitors, gays target mainly male competitors, lesb target mainly female, and bi is the most lenient when it comes to competing. ie. A straight Male NPC lover may not care if you're palling around with another female unless it gets serious. Though they'll continuously attempt to thwart the efforts of any other males (if they are capable).
BoondockSaint Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 v29 was working fine. But like happened in a previous version, It took a lot to have this working for Trudy, lol, this is a friggin' mistery. Updating (cleansave needed btw?), thanks!
t3589 Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 v29 was working fine. But like happened in a previous version, It took a lot to have this working for Trudy, lol, this is a friggin' mistery. Updating (cleansave needed btw?), thanks! A lot of waiting? I have no problems with Trudy at all, though I'm testing fem, I have had run throughs where both she and Sunny have been compatible. Try entering the blding from the rear entrance? If you enter from the front all those NPCs that see you will process first. Maybe that's it? Not sure. I figured out Jas btw. She's another dialog troubled NPC. You have to exit her vanilla greeting quickly and then pick up a smaller talk conversation. Then the dialog will show up. Same with most of the named AWOP NPCs fyi. I'll post to clean save if I do it. Though if you have any problems that's the first thing you should try if you're testing. The need to clean save only really arises when I make huge changes to what's already there. Generally when I'm just adding more new features it shouldn't be needed. It's starting to get pretty stable on my end lately, and more fun.
t3589 Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 Alright so much for stable. I found a problem with the ban list not being picked up by the scanner. I fixed this by using NX_IsInList and this sent the scanner over the top for some reason. Spent yesterday trying to pin it down. In the process I re-wrote and added a ton of stuff trying to mitigate the scan lag. I think I've solved the problem, though the ban list may be broken (definitely broken in the OP copy). Going to do some more testing and I should have a new copy up soon.
t3589 Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 OK got it running pretty smooth on my end. We'll see how it goes. Going to try and re-install some of my textures and press the load. Update in the OP. EDIT: Fixed a bunch of processing related problems. This should solve the problem with some NPCs taking too long to pass through (Trudy). Also added a random setting to game pace. So far this one has run smoother than it ever has for me. You'll probably want to clean save though or processing could take a very long time.
BoondockSaint Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Checkin' this v35. EDIT: working fine. Trudy working from the beginning like the rest of NPCs lol and everything seems correct. Just I noticed 'activities' finish without the NPC saying goodbye -'later'-. But I noticed you already included this on the 'to do' list for the next release.
t3589 Posted August 25, 2014 Author Posted August 25, 2014 Checkin' this v35. EDIT: working fine. Trudy working from the beginning like the rest of NPCs lol and everything seems correct. Just I noticed 'activities' finish without the NPC saying goodbye -'later'-. But I noticed you already included this on the 'to do' list for the next release. Good to hear. Though I found a few broken things. It's not a todo list, rather it's what I've already done. I'll post an update here soon. EDIT: Update in the OP. But be careful. There are bits and pieces of prostitution in that are unfinished. One of them is that you will accumulate rumors if you look like a prostitute. I went ahead and pushed this one through though because population count was broken. Bear with me while I flesh out prostitution. Then I'll get back to working out love triangles. If anyone ever sees anything listed in the next copy that they think is essential to testing, by all means say the word and I'll push it through early. I usually try to get as much done on each copy, but most of my releases are currently because of fixes.
BoondockSaint Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Actually I noticed not always happens, but from time to time. And a suggestion: as NPCs dont like you gotta weapons equipped, what about full masked helmets? I think It could be even worse than weapons in that matter.
