RezTheFatal Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I'm at a complete and total loss about what to do about my Oblivion game. I started getting CTDs immediately after character creation so I did a complete fresh install with only Oblivion.esm loaded and I still get a CTD after character creation every time.
gregathit Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Find your oblivion folder in your my documents folder (where your saved games are) and delete that sucker. Then reinstall oblivion and run the game. Since you don't provide your load order or any other information we can't help you beyond that.
fejeena Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Have you deinstalled the game before the new install? Also the Oblivion INI (My Documents- My Games- Oblivion) . If the INI exists it will not be overridden during a new installation. CTD could be wrong ini Settings. Deinstall the game and search and delete all remaining files.

If this mod is turned on at the start of a new game it will cause a CTD at creation as it adds the armor right to the player at that time. But having it turned off till after creation will not cause a CTD. So if you have any mods turned on turning them off till after creation might fix the CTD at creation.
