bleeb Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 so I've played around with the Arachnophobia mod for a while now, and as far as I've seen it hasn't really been used for anything else further, despite having a variety of cocoons and even struggling animations, which is quite a pity, but I'm wondering if this is from a lack of ideas, or something else? here's an idea to use the stuff included in it for something further; a little bit of a storyline mod, where you get tasked with clearing out an arachnid-infested cave system or something, and when you enter, whether it be by trap or losing to the spiders in battle, you fall unconscious. after that you and your follower(s) wake up cocooned in the spider's lair. you have a certain amount of tries or time to escape the webbing, and if you fail, you are impregnated or eaten by the spider, or anything else a modder could imagine for that matter. I do hope that someone does something similar to, or at least using this mod at some point, because there seems to be a lack of spider-themed stuff around for one thing, and also that these items and animations could be used as part of a pretty great mod eventually, I think. (just figured I'd suggest this with the chance that someone might actually see it and pick up on the idea at some point.)

But I would also want some kind of story to go with that (why is this happening?) otherwise it would only be an exercise in experimental design. But I do not like game overs.

But I do not like game overs. this could easily go many ways, what I said was basically just a foundation idea for a larger mod. maybe there's something to do with a spider Daedra curse, or an increasing infestation of spiders that are taking people, etc. the ways to build on this are basically endless

I guess a combination would be good. The character is hold captive by the spiders for breeding purpose. The character is in a cocon for days until she gives birth to spider eggs or living spiders. You have to break the cocon and escape, but than you have to fight through the spiders and are still impregnated! It would be more dramatic if the equipment is stripped and scatterd around the cave

And The dragonborn recieves a note to investigate... When the main lair is found the PC is captured, impregnated(?) or some other devious thing. In the end he or she (the PC) escapes, and finds out that some evil dude/dudette assumed control of the spiders and is using them to make an army. Anyways, those are just my 2 cents.

The Idea from Guffel (Posted 20 October 2013 - 11:02 PM, Quote-ing seems to be broken ) is quite Kinky. Also a good idea is to convert this cocooning ability to a Spell or Shout as a reward for surviving that Spider-Horror. Maybe usable at people and Creatures alike. I'm sure, that would get the most used spell in the history of Skyrim.
